WOW!
This place was more gorgeous in person than the listing shows. We loved the rooftop deck in the morning or evening (it was really hot/humid during the day in mid-August!) The bed was super comfy! Many other reviews mention 3 flights of stairs, but we found that to be a bit misleading. Yes, there are 3 flights of stairs: a flight to walk up to the door of the home, a flight to the Penthouse door, & a flight up to the Penthouse rooms. It wasn't as bad as we were expecting! We would very much stay here again; so classy & comfy, on a gorgeous, quiet street.
Perfect Anniversary Stay
I, along with my siblings, treated my parents to a stay in Savannah for their 40th wedding anniversary and chose this location. My parents were impressed as soon as they walked in. They raved about how informative the notebook inside was, as well as how much they enjoyed the location, the rooftop deck and their overall stay. Thank you for making their trip memorable & for being such a kind and welcoming hostess!
Hidden Gem
I am no expert by any means but I do my homework and I am excited to day that this place was AMAZING! perfect location if you want reasonably priced while staying in a historic home. .8 miles to walk to river street. Street parking was available the entire weekend...granted it was middle of May, but still....everybody was out and about! I wasn't hesitant at all about renting a historic placeMy faves were location (loved walking through the multiple tree canopies on Jones st), the shower, the bedroom with the 4 poster bed, and the very best: the balconyWe enjoyed this spot and will def stay here when we come back! Thank u for making my birthday 'temp home' amazing!
Anniversary Getaway
A great for a couples retreat. The property looks exactly like the pictures ( full of antiques). We would consider renting this condo again when visiting Savannah. We did not encounter any problems checking in or out. If looking this would be an excellent choice.
Even more beautiful than the photos
My husband and I stayed here the nights of and after our wedding. This apartment was absolutely beautiful, cozy, immaculately clean, and perfectly decorated. I typically do not sleep well away from home, but the bed was so cozy. The outdoor space is a great spot to enjoy the sunshine in the morning. The location was perfect for walking and exploring the historic district. When it was time to go, neither of us wanted to leave. We will definitely be staying here when we return!
Another wonderful stay with Savannah Luxury Rentals!
We have stayed in several of Mary's locations, and we were pleased with this property as well. Great location on Jones Street! Plenty of room for our family of 4 (myself, husband, our son and a friend). The only place we drove to was the Air Force Museum and Tanger Outlets. This is the penthouse apartment, so there are three flights of stairs to climb, which was not a problem for us, but could be to others with mobility issues. The rooftop patio has a great view! It was just too hot and humid during our stay to enjoy it much. As always, Mary takes great care to provide inviting furnishings and decor for these properties. The king size bed was extremely comfortable! The kitchen was well supplied and the shower was awesome! Parking is metered on-street right outside the home, and as long as you get there before or after the lunch crowd at Mrs. Wilkes across the street, you will not have any difficulty finding a spot. Weekends and holidays are free (we were there over the 4th of July weekend), but if you are there for any other days, then you can purchase a Visitor's Day Parking Pass for $8 (24hrs) or $14 (48 hrs). I visited the 17Hundred90 Inn to purchase our pass upon Mary's recommendation and enjoyed talking with the owner there. She and her staff were friendly and helpful as well. We love being able to stay in Savannah and feel like a local! Thanks again Mary!
Highly Recommend
This penthouse apartment was great for us. Lockbox check-in was very easy. The location was terrific for the very walkable historic district of Savannah. Both beds (the main bedroom and pull-out sofa bed) were very comfortable and it was quiet at night in the morning, making for a very restful stay. We sat out on the porch on the one cool evening we had while we were there and had great views of the sunset skies and the chimney swifts darting around. Mary provides a binder of helpful suggestions of places to eat. We also found we were only a block from SCAD’s excellent tea room, Gryphon, which we cannot recommend highly enough for lunch or tea. Everything else was great. We would stay here again when visiting Savannah!
Perfect place with rooftop view
Staying at Marys place in Savannah was all the we had hoped for in a long weekend on Savannah. Its is within walking distance to all for the major attractions and photos are very accurate. The rooftop is perfect to sit out on at the end of a long day. Only thing to note is that there is 3 flights of stairs but that didnt bother us!
This charming penthouse is in the perfect location for walking to shops, reataurants, and museums. Located on the third floor of a historic townhouse, it is beautifully appointed with lovely antiques. The kitchen and bathroom are tastefully updated. An added bonus is the rooftop terrace which provides stunning views of Savannah. The owner and property manager were easily accessible and delightful. And did I mention the bottle of cava awaiting my arrival?
The place was perfect for our vacation to Savannah, GA, and we definitely want to return one day. The shower was great, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the bed was super comfy. We also enjoyed pizza and wine on the beautiful balcony. Beautiful penthouse!
My husband and I loved this place! It was so close to everything downtown, and there was so much to do close by! The balcony was the perfect place to start our day! The penthouse was wonderfully equipped, and very nice! We will definitely be returning in the future!
The Jones Street Penthouse was beautifully appointed. Lovely antiques and artwork fill this historical apt. It felt like coming home at the end of each day in Savannah. The kitchen and balcony made for lovely breakfasts in the mornings and delightful happy hours before heading out to nearby places for wonderful dinners. The location was perfect, everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. Our hostess, Mary, made getting in and out easy. We highly recommend the Jones Street Penthouse!
We stayed a week at this property. What a lovely place to stay. The location was very convenient to all the attractions in Historic Savannah. Jones Street is a beautiful location. The condo was well appointed. The kitchen had everything you could possibly ask for in a vacation rental. The condo was roomy and it was nice to have the rooftop balcony -- a perfect place to sip your coffee in the morning or decompress in the evening after a full day of sightseeing. I highly recommend staying at the Jones Street Penthouse!
We absolutely loved this place! It was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we enjoyed the large flat screen TV. The floors are gorgeous and feel wonderful on bare feet! The location was perfect - Jones Street is gorgeous and peaceful! The Crystal Beer Parlor is a great place to eat in the neighborhood, just a short walk away. The private terrace has a wonderful view and is the perfect spot to sit and have wine at the end of the day. Mary and Jennifer were exceptionally nice and very accessible. This was our first time to Savannah and we loved every minute of it - such a special place. If we get the chance to return, I would only want to stay in this penthouse!
Mary and Sam both extremely helpful and accessible. Property easy to find and centrally located to historic Savannah. Wilkes House directly across the street, but only open M-F if interested. Did the Old Savannah on/off tour and would highly recommend if first time to the city. Also did ghost tour with Pirate House dinner. Pecan crusted chicken dinner better than Paula Dean's. Riverboat dinner cruise also Ok. Favorite restaurants were Crystal Beer Parlor and Clary's. Vinnie A Go Go also good. Great time in Savannah!
My wife and I took a late anniversary trip and found this quaint little place to stay during our time in Savannah. With restaurants, shopping, and sight seeing at the top of our list of things to do, the Jones Street Penthouse did not disappoint to put us within close walking distance to most of our stops and a short drive to the others. If you stay here, the Crystal Beer Parlor is only 2 blocks away and is a great place with a lot of history to grab a meal. Would definitely recommend to others and will stay here again if we make our way back to Savannah.
The condo was clean and well supplied. The area could not have been better. We spent so much time on the roof top deck, more than i thought we would. Savannah is one great block after another! My only suggestion would be to have a stack of maps of Savannah (we got ours from the visitors center) in the condo.
The penthouse is beautiful and is equipped with everything you may need! The bed is super comfortable and the roof top deck is incredible! The area is quiet yet close enough to walk to anywhere downtown you may want to go. We definitely recommend this property and plan to stay here again in the future!
My fiancee and I came here for a weekend getaway and this is the second time we have stayed here. It was perfect as usual! Within walking distance to everything and the rooftop patio is wonderful! We grilled steaks one night and the other night we went to Crystal Beer Parlor which is just a 3 minute walk from the condo and it was SO good. They changed the meters from being free on nights and weekends to being pay meters all the time but when we got there we took a short walk to the visitors center and got a weekend parking pass for $14 and parked right in front of the condo all weekend. I recommend the weekend parking pass for anyone! Thanks Mary for allowing us to enjoy the weekend at your beautiful condo!
Everything positive written about this place is accurate and authentic. We could not get over how much room there was to relax and enjoy. We stayed for a month to escape the northern winters and it was perfect. The kitchen is equipped with quality tableware and utensils. The place is bright and airy with its' large windows. The bed is very comfy. The rooftop deck is the icing on the cake. For those worried about stairs, we were surprised at how easy they were to manage. There is a little set of stairs outside to get to the main door. Once you get in there is a set to the second floor. Your entrance is on the second floor where a foyer and armoire greets you. Then you climb the final set of stairs to enter the living space. My husband and I are 69 and 70 and we ran up and down a gazillion times a day and never found it onerous. It is a beautiful place, decorated to match the history of Savannah! And walking distance to everywhere!!!!!
My husband and I really enjoyed staying at the penthouse apartment. The rooftop deck was a great place to have coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. Location is perfect. We did not have a car and never ran out of places to walk to easily.
This was the perfect location between the river front and Forsyth Park. We had the best time and we could easily walk to all locations. We used the rooftop patio in the mornings and evening to just take it all in. The penthouse was very clean and very nice. When we go back, we will use the penthouse again! Mary was wonderful and gave perfect instructions.
This lovely property is everything you could imagine on the best street for historic homes in Savannah. My wife and I went for a long weekend getaway and fell in love with this place when searching through so many wonderful places. It was our first visit to this historic city, and we could not have been more pleased with both our visit and this home away from home. Mary made everything so easy for us, and the space is so welcoming and beautifully decorated. We loved spending time on the penthouse open air deck having breakfast and coffee in the mornings, and a glass of wine and dessert at the end of the day. There is a full kitchen that can accommodate any snacks or meals you are planning, a sitting area with dining table, divan and fireplace, and a very large bedroom. The bathroom is cozy, and very nicely renovated. At the end of a full day of visiting the historic homes, Forsyth Park, wonderful restaurants and waterfront activities on Riverfront plaza, we were so appreciative of the comfortable bed and luxurious sheets. It was so unforgettable. We will definitely plan more trips and we hope to find this lovely space available for each one - definitely a five star location!
We enjoyed our time in Savannah as well as within this beautiful unit. The location of this property is ideal for walking to historic district offerings as well as to Forsyth Park. The unit itself is a nice combination of historic charm & upgraded amenities. The kitchen / bath are beautiful & well equipped. The bedroom is large with a fantastic fan which helped circulate the AC air. The mattress is okay. A memory foam mattress topper would be an inexpensive solution for added comfort. We used the private rooftop patio feature most. There are two lounge chairs to relax & enjoy the view along with a grill & patio table. We enjoyed our first night's dinner grilled with rooftop views. There are a few cosmetic maintenance items which is to be expected in historic homes (small area of peeling plaster, scratch on floor, loose shower handle etc) but nothing that would deter us from returning as it is an ideal unit for a couple getaway.
We stayed at the penthouse for a week for our anniversary. We absolutely loved it! Only a five minute walk to Forsyth Park, which is where we got married. We walked everywhere! The apartment is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The big windows let in so much light. The rooftop deck is amazing! We sat out every evening and watched the sunset and enjoyed the view of the city. Just a few minutes walk to Crystal Beer Parlor, which is a great place to eat. The only thing I would mention for anyone looking to rent, is the many stairs you have to climb to get to the penthouse. For us, it was no problem and worth every step! However, if anyone has physical limitations, it could be an issue. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay. We even enjoyed having coffee at the table in the kitchen window and watching people line up across the street to eat at Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room. We never ate there, but heard good things. We will definitely stay here again!
The overall experience in Savannah was awesome! The apartment was very nice. We loved the private deck, especially for July 4th because you can see the fireworks from it. We would return to it and Savannah because over 4 days we still believe there is more to see and experience.
Our stay at the Jones Street Penthouse these past 5 days was amazing. The penthouse itself is smack dab in the middle of the historic district in Savannah, just a short walk from all the shops on Broughton street, and checked off every item on our wishlist. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. I would highly recommend this property, not only because of the beautiful historic apartment, but also that the owner answered all our questions we had about our stay and was very prompt with replies, which is always peace of mind when visiting an unfamiliar area. Just a fantastic experience overall, we would definitely love to visit again.
My husband and I loved the beautiful penthouse apartment on Jones Street and especially enjoyed the outside private balcony in the evenings while we enjoyed a cold drink! The location was perfect for us to stroll around the city and we found that it was just a short walk to Forsyth park, the Mercer Williams house and other beautiful squares. The apartment was right across the street from Mrs. Wilkes restaurant which we didn't have the opportunity to try and we were happily surprised to find out that Jones Street is recognized as one of the most beautiful streets in the U.S.! The stairs up to the apartment wasn't an issue for us but it could pose a problem if you have mobility challenges. We bought passes to the Old Town Trolley and found a stop just a couple of blocks away where we could catch it without having to drive to the visitor center. We would definitely recommend taking a trolley tour which allows you to jump on and off at their stops. This allows you to spend as much time as you'd like to tour the areas of your interest within your time frame. We found several options for tours when we visited the nearby Visitor Center. We arrived on Friday and found out that we didn't need to buy a parking permit as we were leaving Monday. If you arrive before 5PM on Friday you will have to feed the meter, but from 5PM Friday until 8AM on Monday the parking is free. We began feeding the meter at 8AM Monday morning until our check out time (you will want to too because the meter reader was there promptly Monday morning!) If you stay longer than we did or arrive during the week you will want to purchase a parking pass. You will probably want to visit the supermarket for your grocery items before your arrival. We had brought our own paper supplies which we didn't use during our short visit as they were supplied and plentiful for our short stay. However, if you do need supplies there's a couple of local markets within walking distance and there's a Krogers a few blocks away. I know that this is a long review but as this was our first visit in more than 20 years(!) we thought we would share what we had learned. We look forward to returning to Savannah and would definitely love to at the Jones Street Penthouse again!
My husband and I visited from St Augustine, Florida and selected the Jones Street location so that we would be walking distance to all of the historical sites and activities we wanted to visit. The Penthouse was gorgeous, quiet and had everything we needed for our getaway. From the Penthouse you are in walking distance to the picturesque squares, to great restaurants and bars, and all the sites. We highly recommend this location.
This was a very clean and spacious place for 2! The location is perfect - quiet neighborhood, but walking distance to action and restaurants. You will be perfectly between Forsyth Park and Broughton St. I also think Jones St might be the prettiest street in the city! The free Dot Shuttle is right across the street too, which can take you to all the main areas of town. You do need to take 3 flights of stairs up, which was not an issue for us, but just a note to consider when packing luggage. Because you're on the top level, noise is very minimal from the street and other tentants. I recommend bringing slippers to walk around the beautiful wood floors and for keeping the noise level low for below neighbors. Self check in and check out makes it a breeze and more relaxing. We would stay here again! Loved it.
Our stay in your gorgeous, beautifully decorated Jones Street Penthouse was perfect. We felt like we were royalty living in such lovely surroundings and such comfort. The view from the table in the kitchen was such fun as we watched people lining up to eat at Mrs. Wilkes. Certainly E Jones is the most beautiful street in Savannah. Thank you for your attention to every detail to make our stay so very special. The bed is so comfortable, the shower works beautifully and afternoons on the deck were so wonderful. We hope to come back and stay again and again.
