All time Favorite Getaway
Gorgeous home, beautiful decor, attention to details, fabulous location and friendly and responsive owner. Its my all time favorite vacation home getaway (ranks up there with a getaway in Paris). Will rent again if Im fortunate to snag more time.
Wonderful Stay!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The check in process was super easy, the place was spotless upon arrival, and everything was just as it was listed on VRBO. The neighborhood was fabulous and super close to restaurants, Forsyth park, and shopping. We were there for my son to visit SCAD for a tour and could not have ask for a better place to stay. My elderly parents were with us, and they were extremely impressed with the property. It had all the comforts of home for them. We would absolutely stay here again if we come back!!!! Parking was never an issue at all, and the check out process was seamless!!!!
Beautiful home in perfect location
This is a great property! The house is so close to Forsyth Park and a lot of downtown attractions, but still on a quiet street with parking. It made for the perfect home base for our time in Savannah. The house was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Mary was great to work with. Would definitely stay here again!
We loved this house!
I went on a girls trip with 4 other girls and we loved this Savannah house!! Perfect for 5 people and having the 3 bathrooms really helped in the Savannah summer heat. Scenic 10 minute stroll into town. And the house was just as beautiful in person as it was in the photos. We were sad to leave. Would highly recommend!
Beautiful place to stay
The home at 525 Howard is a wonderful and beautiful place to stay. It was so easy to get to all the places that we wanted to see. The home is so cozy and clean it makes you not to want to leave. I highly recommend the home to anyone wanting to come to Savannah. The host was very informative and great response time. Thanks Marie
Cozy and in great neighborhood
Wonderful, quiet, and cozy home located in a great neighborhood. Great location with great access to the park and places to eat.
I rented Designer's Delight for a recent girls' weekend in Savannah to celebrate my sister's upcoming nuptials. Five of us stayed here for three days and nights. The house was clean and -- even better -- quite charming and bright. As an actual designer, I can tell you that the home was definitely delightful and I appreciated the detail given to each room. It's clear the home has been renovated relatively recently -- the lighting fixtures, plumbing equipment, and finishes were all in great condition although the home still has historic character and lovely (presumably original?) hardwood floors. Each floor has a small outdoor patio, and we found ourselves out there each morning listening to cicadas, enjoying the greenery and chatting over coffee. The house is just a block away from Forsyth Park and there are many amenities within walking distance, which made for some lovely strolling. (As a runner -- the house was also a fantastic starting point for my training runs! Also we definitely recommend The Public Kitchen and Bar as a dinner spot.) The kitchen was stocked with basic essentials and very serviceable, though we ate out for most of our meals. There was plenty of room and I would have felt completely comfortable doing a longer stay and putting the kitchen to more use. Everyone slept well, outdoor noise was not an issue, and parking was easy to find on the street. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. For five people, the home was comfortable. We had originally planned on having 6 of us (2 in each bedroom and 2 on the sleeper sofa). In hindsight, 6 people is definitely doable, but probably would feel a little pinched. Mary and her team were easy to reach and explained everything we needed. I'd recommend the entire experience again. Finally, I'll note that the residence is bordered closely by its neighbors, so if you're considering this property but know your group is quite raucous, I'd advise you stay elsewhere.
Truly delightful! The clean classic white decor, luxury linens, and tall windows with lots of natural light made for a great stay for us while moving our daughter into her SCAD dorm. Thank you! Will rent again!
I can't tell you how awesome this house was. It was comfy, amazingly furnished and in a wonderful location with Street parking. I was in town for a wedding across the park and it was a short walk. Having 3 bathrooms was great while getting ready. Also the kitchen was nice and big and the backyard was so charming. I would for sure stay there again.
Fantastic townhouse, plenty of light, two full bedrooms / baths so you didn't have to share. I think there could be a bit more 'living room' seating as there are two dining tables but other than that, it was great. Location was right by Forsyth park. It was a bit of a walk from here to downtown but unless you are not able to walk far, it was very comfortable. Maybe 15 - 20 min. The appliances and kitchen were top of the line. Quiet place too. Highly recommend
I stayed here with my boyfriend, sister, and her boyfriend for a weekend trip, and everything was beyond our expectations! The home is beautifully designed and decorated, and had everything we needed. The location can't be beat either - just a block away from Forsyth Park for a lovely morning walk, and about a 10-15 minute stroll down to the main historic district and waterfront. Highly recommend!
Our family of 3 absolutely loved staying in this property for the New Year. The home is beautiful, clean and just as pictured. Walking to Forsyth Park was such a treat. The location is close to everything and we enjoyed all of the restaurants and coffee shops. Can't wait to return to this dreamy city. Thanks for sharing your wonderful property Mary!
This place met our needs and beyond. It was comfortable and very nicely decorated and we couldn't have asked for more. Some favorite features were the big comfy beds, the dining table which was perfect for our evening puzzle, the kitchen which was easy to navigate and the back porch and patio where we could enjoy the lovely weather. The location was just right for walking all around town and it was a reasonable drive to the airport and to the beach. Also, there was always parking on the street when we returned. If we get to come back, we agreed we would try to reserve the same place again!
Everything about this property was spot on. You can walk pretty much everywhere from the great location near Forsyth Park. Restaurants, historic sites, waterfront and shopping all nearby. The property itself is well decorated and inviting. We loved it. I will pass this property on to all my friends visiting Savannah!
We enjoyed our stay here! We had four adults and were very comfortable in the space. Everything you want to do or see in Savannah is within walking distance (a mile or so) from the home. The only things I would change about the home include the need for more towels, specifically hand towels and washcloths, and window shades in the bedrooms. Other than that I would stay here again!
My husband and I brought our two young daughters (ages 3 and 1) to Savannah for Memorial day weekend, and I cannot say enough good things about this property. The location was ideal for families - we did not use the car during our entire stay because we were just a short stroll away from the fountain, playgrounds, and splash pad at Forsyth Park. River Street was also a relatively easy walk, and there were countless options for dining along the way as well as the beautiful scenery of downtown Savannah. This condo had plenty of space for my family, and it was elegantly designed. With two master suites, it would also be perfect for a couples' trip. We hope to return to Savannah again soon, and we will definitely book the same place for our next trip.
My daughter and I stayed at this house this past weekend. It is stylishly decorated home on a quiet street and perfectly located in the historical district--walking distance to Forsyth Park and a short drive to Broughton Street, City Market, and River Street. We truly enjoyed the house and our trip to Savannah. Would stay here again.
Located almost a mile from river but definitely walkable. Updated kitchen. If I had to say anything negative, one upstairs shower drained slowly. Place was immaculate, well equipped, and the two king master bedrooms with en suites in each accommodated two couples perfectly. Nice private courtyard in the back, too. Our contact with Mary, the owner, was always prompt and friendly
We couldn't have been more comfortable. Mary was a pleasure to work with, the townhouse was charming, nicely updated and decorated. The bedrooms were spacious and had extremely comfortable beds. We loved the location, we had no problem with parking and actually were very close to public dot fare-free transportation stop. We were able to walk to many places. Very close to Forsyth Park. Loved it!!
The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was beautiful and we couldn’t believe how close we were to Forsyth Park. We loved that we could walk everywhere. Mary was great to work with and we would definitely stay at her home again.
Great location -- only one block from Forsyth Park and DOT free trolley. House is very clean, decorated nicely. Bathrooms/kitchens seem updated/new. Beds are very comfortable. On-street parking readily available; never had to search for a parking space. Mary was very helpful and responsive on all questions. Would highly recommend this and would definitely stay again next time I'm in Savannah.
We loved the house. It was quaint, quiet and nicely appointed. It was very nice to have bathrooms in each bedroom, and we really liked the little patio off of the kitchen for drinks and appetizers. The location by Forsyth Park was great for a walk or run and the neighborhood was lovely.
Great 2 Bdrm, 3 Ba carriage house 1/2 block from Forsyth. It has everything you need for a comfy getaway. You can walk to everything from here and the parking out front is free. Perfect for families or a group. Stylish decor, comfy beds. Highly recommend!
The location is great. I would give 5 stars except for a few tiny things. The wine glasses need to be more; sized ad the guest room needs some type of Small night stands by the beds. And the WiFi was slow when it was working. We didnt come for computer access so that wasnt a big deal but I thought it was worth mentioning. All that being said, I would stay here again..glasses
We had a lovely stay on July 3 and 4. Not wanting to stay by the action near the river we chose this place about midway down and a block off Forsyth Park and a very peaceful area. A beautiful townhome that was perfect for us 2 couples. Both bedrooms had king size beds that were exceptionally comfortable (Mary can you tell me the brand because I want one!). Beautifully decorated, the decor was modern with a few period pieces and I felt like I was in someone’s home. I was happy that basics were provided such as TP, soap, shampoo, hairdryer. The kitchen although we only prepared breakfast was fully equipped and even a few handy items in the pantry. We walked everywhere with no problem. There are restaurants within a couple of blocks (try Collin’s Quarter for breakfast, lunch and cocktails!) And a Kroger grocery on other side of park. We really could have moved in and been quite content. Thanks for your lovely place.
We spent a few days in Savannah with another couple. It was awesome to have two master suites for privacy and a wonderful living area to meet together for conversation and meals. The location was convenient to everything. We loved our visit even though it was really hot and humid. I have recommended this place to my friends and, if I ever get back to Savannah, I will definitely try to stay here again!
We had a very comfortable stay it was close to everything. Once you find your parking spot keep it 😉! Then uber to everything they new the streets and history and cost was very acceptable. I can't wait to return and stay in this home. Hope to see u soon
It was our second time staying here for a girls trip. It is a beautiful townhouse in a very convenient location to everything and to DOT. We only moved our car once. Parking was not a problem. The decor is very up to date and cozy. The beds are Tempurpedic, the same kind I have at home, we all slept very well. Love this place, happy to say it was another fun time! We hope to visit again. Thank you, Mary!!
Check-in was a breeze and the apartment was sparkling clean upon arrival. The beds were comfortable and it was the perfect space for 2 couples. The apartment was very close to Forsyth Park in a safe area and lots of coffee, dining options. The city is very walkable and we enjoyed walking to many restaurants. My only criticism is the lack of some basic cooking utensils like a colander and vegetable peeler as we cooked at home one day. Otherwise, it was a lovely place to spend a few days in Savannah.
This property was not only perfectly located, but is just a beautiful as it looks in the pictures. When we arrived, the house was immaculate and there were plenty of fresh sheets/towels for the six of us. The owner went out of her way to make us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, even leaving a binder full of house/neighborhood information and having shampoo/face soap in the bathrooms. Overall, it was a perfect stay and I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to have a great weekend in Savannah!
The stay was exactly what we needed. We were there to attend a wedding down town and the location was handy for us. The unit was clean and roomy. It was also near a bus stop (which is free) that will take you downtown and also past some historic buildings you can tour if you wish. The park is also one block away and provides a great place to walk, or just relax and enjoy the view. There are plenty of good places to eat that are recommended in the book. We also bought food to cook at the house which we enjoyed the local fish and shrimp. The owner was a great host.. we would stay there again if the opportunity comes our way. The people in Savannah were very nice.
My daughter and I stayed near Forsyth Park in Savannah for Mother's Day week-end. We loved our house. It offered everything : a lovely house with a deck off the kitchen, a few steps to Forsyth Park, free DOT bus transportation, located in the heart of the historic district, a block from the Mercer-Williams Mansion, and many others. We'll stay there the next time we visit Savannah.
This home was a wonderful place to stay during our trip to Savannah. It is especially a perfect home for a group or family where you need 3 showers and at least two bedrooms. While the home is about 1 mile from the center of the river front scene, it is across the street from Forsyth Park and incentivizes a beautiful stroll through the city squares on the way to the river. There also are coffee shops relatively nearby if you prefer a morning espresso over a coffee in the provided drip coffee maker. The owner communicated well, the place was pristine and the home is gorgeous. It is two story and much larger than we expected from the VRBO ad. We loved it.
This charming condo epitomized our Savannah stay during our son's graduation from SCAD! Our property manager was gracious and patient, the location just a couple of blocks from beautiful Forsyth Park was so accessible, the condo itself was roomy and hospitable. Would definitely stay again!
The home was incredibly clean, stylish and comfortable. We were traveling for a girls weekend and unfortunately the first home we booked a few blocks away was a disgusting mess. Upon our arrival we immediately searched for available properties nearby. Thank goodness that Mary responded quickly and accommodated us the next morning. The only issue we encountered was the oven was not operational. However, the overall vibe of the home, customer service, linens, & decor were all top notch and we’ll be booking again.
Owner Response
Thanks for this great review! So sorry nobody complained about the oven and I got this review 2 weeks after the stay (reviews are held in limbo) so as soon as I saw this I checked the oven. The top element was heating but the bottom element was staying cold. Maybe other guests were not even noticing since Broil still worked. The bake element has been replaced so all is fixed and thanks again! Future guests, if possible send any maintenance items directly to me ASAP since reviews come in after a significant delay. Thanks again!
This property was perfect for what my family and I wanted to do. We had a fantastic time in our extended weekend in Savannah. My family has a great connection with Savannah having lived there for years and we always love going back. This property is within walking distance to any part of the Historic District and it's a short drive to anything. You can easily sleep a family of 5 with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. We will stay in this property again.
