I don't know where to start! Late Friday night we decided to take a quick weekend getaway before school starts. I started a search for somewhere to stay and happened upon this place. We love unique and historic places so this one caught my attention. I took a chance and requested a booking. I say chance because these requests could take 24 hours. Early Saturday morning I received our confirmation that included detailed instructions and directions. (Way less than 24 hours.....even less than 12 hours!) The directions were easy to follow and instructions on where to park, what gate to enter and the code to our door were simple. Do pay attention to the signs on the street parking, there are restrictions on where you can park on certain days due to the street cleaners! The moment we pulled up I knew this was an amazing place for us. This place is exactly as described. Not fancy.....but perfect. The street, the pathway, the courtyard, the creaky door and floor--all part of exactly why this place was amazing. We spent a fun night downtown Savannah. We headed back to our place and found an available parking space a little down from the main house. As we walked through the courtyard, a warm light outside the unit helped in the darkness. Having a code to the door, instead of fumbling with a key, was great!!! The next day was a beach day at Tybee. We are an out to eat type of family but opted to eat in so we headed back to our place and had lunch there. The is shopping close by and the kitchen it stocked with basic items like dishes, pans and utensils. We all took showers and the water was great. I was a bit worried about that but no trouble at all. It does take a little time for the water to heat up the first time but that is something that is listed when you book. No surprises!! Check out was simple!! Wash your dishes, take out your trash and for the most part--leave it like you found out. We texted Mary when we left and received a text back almost immediately!! Check out as simple as that!!! Word of warning....not a complaint at all....REMEMBER this is an old place and so it must be respected as such. I forgot what it was like without central AC, I have a new appreciation for it!! It took just a bit, after we returned each day, to adjust to the window unit and air unit in the livingroom to cool down our place! :) This will be a place we return to when we are visiting Savannah and Tybee.

Thank you so much for appreciating this carriage house apartment. What an enthusiastic awesome review. We are super grateful for all of the adventure loving people like Shalley. Guests who book this are staying in the "out building" of the first home in Savannah that had electricity. A castle-like building that was basically the show-off model home for one our most famous southern architects of the past. But the carriage house was for horses and the modern conversion to living quarters is still not at all the same as a hotel or new home! We are beyond thrilled to host guests like this who read all about what they are booking and can walk away completely satisfied.

Mary's place was the perfect spot for us. Very affordable, it was a rustic, cabin like setting and was everything I had expected and more. It is the perfect spot with Forsyth park a few blocks away and Kroger right around the corner. Plenty of restaurants and shops well within walking distance (which is the only way to enjoy downtown Savannah). LOVED IT !!!

Great location and easy to find. Once you have your bearings it’s easy to get around by walking or Uber. Grocery store is pretty much next door which is great when you want to save a few bucks on snacks and beverages. The place was nice. We loved the uniqueness. Quiet street and felt safe. Mary was easy to contact and responded quickly.

Lovely little place in a gorgeous neighborhood right next to beautiful parks and a short walk from some excellent places to eat, drink, and shop — even walkable to the river! Would definitely stay at one of Mary’s properties again!

Mary was as easy to communicate with as any host I've ever stayed with. Very helpful and flexible in the process of getting me in and out. Would recommend to anyone and this will be the first spot I look for when I come back to town.

This was a great set-up for traveling with our son. We had a comfortable stay in the carriage house and enjoyed the neighborhood. It is only a few blocks walk to Forsyth Park with easy transportation. Between Uber and the hop-on-hop-off bus we never used our car once after we arrived.

The location of the place is near a Kroger and about 5 minutes from multiple coffee shops. We had a great time and Forsyth park is always beautiful! If you want a great tour of Savannah a very nice place to stay !
