Couldn't be happier! Location was perfect and the apartment was exactly as listed. Really appreciated the ease of check in and check out as well as the local recommendations. The parking pass is a great plus! Will definitely book this apartment on our next trip.
Loved the location
Comfy bed with nice kitchen that provided everything we needed. The location is stellar, close to everything we wanted to see/do.
Great location
Perfect spot, easy access, clean, affordable
Great location
We stayed here 3 nights. Location was excellent to explore city. Used the condo mainly for sleeping but it was clean and everything we used worked well. Would definitely stay here again. Mary and staff easy to work with. We actually were booked for 2 nights and extended our stay to 3 nights. It was as easy as a text. Highly recommend getting garage pass and parking car after unloading, you will not need it unless leaving the historic district.
Clean, comfy and great location
We really enjoyed our stay at Mary's. It was clean, easy to check in, comfortable and great location. It was walkable to many restaurants and to the river. We would certainly stay here again.
My husband & I stayed in December , taking a holiday break. It was great to be right in the middle of everything. Parked the car & didn't move it the whole weekend. We must have been back & forth to Starbucks & CVS 10 times! The space was big bright & spotless. Beautiful floor to ceiling windows overlooking Wright Square. Great restaurant choices & Mary was responsive as all the reviews say! Thanks again!
A few girlfriends & I escaped to this beautiful city & it's wonderful cuisine for a few days. This particular place was bright clean & cheerful - smack dab in the middle of the historic district. Wonderful how the sunlight hit our windows overlooking the square. And really convenient having CVS & Bank right across the street. Thanks Mary!
Over the years we have continued to stay with this particular listing person, Mary. We've never met but it seems like we know her. She is easy to work with and very accommodating. Most importantly her rentals are VERY clean! Everything seemed brand new, including the appliances and all of the kitchen items. This was our first time at 1 York Street. It was right on Wright Square - which is beautiful! I sat and read with the curtains open so I could see it. It's just one street over from Broughton street (one of the main streets, with lots of restaurants and shops). Just diagonal from the rental is a little coffe shop/ cafe (Our Daily Bread Cafe) we tried for the first time. It was very good breakfast. You won't go wrong staying here, especially if you want to be right downtown and want to walk everywhere. We didn't have any trouble finding parking either and it was a holiday weekend. Thanks Mary!
This was a fabulous place to stay in Savannah at a reasonable price. Mary was helpful and easy to communicate with. The location is perfect for walking around the entire city. We loved all the squares to relax in, so much history! The unit is very clean, comfortable bed, and fully appointed. We highly recommend it.
The location of this property is great. Right in the center of absolutely everything. The condo itself is beautifully maintained and very clean! The owner was a pleasure to work with and answered all of my questions quickly. We all enjoyed our stay there very much. We will definitely be back!!
Great location, great apartment. Clean, stocked, comfortable. Easy to walk everywhere in the historic district. Parking was easy to find nearby all week long. Savannah is a fun town, and this apartment is in the middle of the most beautiful historic district in NA. Easy, seamless and professional rental experience. Thanks Mary!
Very clean simple one bedroom apartment on the second floor. You do have to walk up a flight of steps with your luggage. No parking provided, the best location is the State Street garage only 1.5 blocks away. Clean garage and only $12 to park for the weekend. You Can park for free on the street after 5 on Friday, but the side of the building entrance the street sweeper comes Friday night/Sat before 6 am (so no parking) and then on Sat/Sun night the street in front of the building gets swept. With a restaurant on each side and only a couple of parking spots - just save yourself the hassle and just park at State Street garage. The bedroom window has a sliver of a view of the park, Wright square, which in my opinion was one of the better squares. Courthouse on one side and a church is on the other side they played a concert on Sat 9 AM for 15 min. I would hear the bells during the day but never at night so they must silence them at a certain time. Big beautiful oaks, multiple benches. But since it was a smaller square it was busy but not a lot of people selling stuff or begging. Just mainly tourists passing through. Savannah is a loud place at all hours, and the windows in this unit are thin. You will hear conversations as people walk by. The street sweepers, etc. It didn't bother us, and she does provide a sound machine in the bedroom if you want to play waves or something else. I didn't mind the city sounds. The location is amazing. Just a few blocks from the riverfront and a few blocks the other way to Forsyth park. It was close to restaurants and activities but next to a quiet square, so we could leave the noise and bustle behind and retreat to a quieter area of our own. Packets of coffee provided. Drip coffee maker with mesh liner provided. a small amount of sugar. Spice rack. Nice dishes and pots and pans but we never cooked. Hotel size shampoo, bath soap, hair dryer. Liquid soap at sinks. Dishwashing soap and laundry detergent. Roll of paper towel. Toilet paper - but Scott's brand - boo. Such a nice place and classy in every other way.
VRBO and Mary were very easy to work with. I usually just stay in a hotel. This worked great. Street noise was a little loud one night but already new there could be a little street noise. Small price to pay if you want to be in the heart of the city. I would definitely recommend this place.
Loved the property and LOVED the location. We were here for our daughters graduation from SCAD. We walked almost everywhere! If you stay on a weekend you do not have to feed the meters. So we had no need to bother with the weekend parking pass. We were a half block away but I got up early to get coffee at Starbucks a block away, moved the car right in front of the door. And we didn't move it till we left the next day. Amenities are nice, we felt right at home.
We stayed for a long weekend in June. After a day of traveling, it was great to walk into a clean and spacious condo for me and my husband. Parking is a little annoying throughout the city but there is a garage close by on State street (very affordable). We were in walking distance to everything, only took our rental car out of the garage when we went to the beach, Tybee Island, only about 30 minutes away. The condo was located right next to one of the squares and just two blocks from River Street (nightlife) and one block from Broughton Street (shopping). The condo was perfect and made our trip amazing! We are already trying to figure out when we can go back and we will definitely be looking to book this same place!
We have been to Savannah quiet a few times and this was one of the best places we have stayed. It was within easy walking distant to everything we wanted to go to. The unit was very clean. It could use a few things, like a tv in the bedroom, maybe a comfortable chair in the living room and a pan or two to be able to cook in the oven, also the toilet needs to be worked on so you don't have to giggle the handle to stop it from running. Parking was never a problem and we parked right in front of the condo every day we were there. It was nice and quiet and we would stay there again.
We were excited to be in the middle of town for the price, and were pleased with the accommodations. The apartment was beautiful and roomy. It had a firm mattress, with nice sheets and an extra blanket or two. I didn't see any extra pillows (except what was in the shams) so we were glad we had brought our own as we like 2-3 pillows each. Know that there was a room deodorizer somewhere that we couldn't find that was a bit overpowering for a sensitive nose, so we opened the windows and enjoyed the sounds of clippity-clop horse hooves on the cobble stone street as the carriages rode by every hour or so during the evening. Overall it was very pleasant and enjoyable, and only 4 blocks to the market area and directly across from a small beautiful park / square.
The location was hands down the best! Close and within walking distance to most everything. The place was very cute with most all kitchen amenities (be sure to bring coffee filters though). It was a bit noisy-you can hear people on the street below as well as a church bell that sounds every 15 minutes-if you're a light sleeper I'd suggest bringing ear plugs, but the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom toilet handle needs to be replaced as it would not stay down & the water would run, but a very minor detail compared to such a great place. Will definitely plan to stay there again!
My husband and I visit Savannah often and generally stay in the local hotels. I am so glad that we chose to stay in this condo. It felt like home after one night. The living room and bedroom are big, we had plenty of space for the 2 of us. It was nice not to have to "check-in" or anything. The building the condo is located in is right on Wright Square. There are many restaurants located on this square or just right off of it. I recommend Collins Quarter. The CVS is just across the square and then it's only 1 more block to Broughton St. River St, City Market, and Forsyth park are just a short walk away. The street noise can be fairly loud. Savannah has people walking around at all times throughout the day and night. We used the sound machine provided and we were no longer bothered by the noise. We didn't hear any church bells like other reviews said. Parking can be a pain in Savannah but it's that way anywhere you stay unless you valet, which is expensive. The State ST parking deck is the closest but when we were there it was full. We opted for spaces on the street which have meters. At night we were able to get a place right by the condo. The meters only run from 8-5, M-F at a total of $8 a day. pretty cheap! You do have to feed the meters often as they have a maximum amount and differ. There are 2 hour spots right by the condo. It was no problem for us to go back and fill it throughout the day. Mary and the other staff were very friendly, easy to get a hold of, and accommodating. We will definitely stay in this condo again.
I came here with my 2 cousins for a quick girls weekend. The condo was clean, quiet, well stocked and close to anything you could want to do! We had a great time waking around the city and the popping in and out of the condo as we needed to since we were never too far. The condo overlooks one of the squares and is surrounded by shops, diners, bars and tour stops. We were already planning our next stay before we headed out of town. The owner was responsive and courteous and provided plenty of helpful info on the neighborhood and the parking in Savannah. The condo was spacious and well appointed and is the perfect place for 2-3 people looking to explore the city. We can't wait to come back and stay again!
You really can't beat the location. Parking is atrocious but once you find a spot, everything is within walking distance. The apartment is cute and well furnished. My only (minor) complaint is the shades in the bedroom are thin and do not completely cover the full height windows, so it doesn't get completely dark at night. Overall a great place.
This was our first trip to Savannah. We wanted to explore history and local culture and weren't disappointed. You could walk anywhere from this condo, which was right across from Wright Square, very easily. There was also a free shuttle that took you anywhere within the historic and Victorian districts. The condo was immaculate; large living room area, cable TV, free wifi, small but functional kitchen, and beautiful bedroom with a very comfortable, king-sized bed. I would suggest a couple of microwaveable casserole dishes to use when cooking. Washer and dryer was also very convenient. Nothing to complain about. Fantastic place. Would definitely stay there again when we go back!
Our stay here was wonderful! We stayed for a few days leading up to our wedding because we wanted some extra space for all of our wedding stuff and so that we could have a small kitchen. Everything in the condo was extremely clean and the location could not be better. We wanted to be in walking distance to Broughton and E. Bay Street without having to be right in the mess of those busy streets, and this location was perfect. We were close to everything and parking actually wound up not being a problem at all; we got a parking pass from one of the garages and always found parking right outside the unit. Would stay here again!
Both the condo itself and the location were perfect. Having the view from the bedroom overlooking Wright Square was of special significance due to the name even though it isn't a direct shot, but no worries. Everything in the historic district is within walking distance and there is a parking garage close by if street parking is unavailable. The condo was very clean and had the essentials for an enjoyable stay. Being able to have make meals definitely beats a hotel or just having a refrigerator for drinks, a coffee maker to have coffee without running out in the morning, or being able to pour a drink is nice. There is also a washer and dryer to wash the towels or return home with clean laundry instead of a suitcase full of dirty laundry. The queen size bed in the bedroom was comfortable and there was a fold-up twin bed stored in the closet, if needed. The old windows in both the bedroom and living room are large with being the floor to ceiling type so they provided plenty of light and being able to enjoy the views of the square and people walking around the area. WI-FI is available in the property which is always nice to upload a bunch of vacation pictures faster and there is a smart TV so if you want to login to your Netflix account to relax with a movie, that is an option. The property building is also very clean and the coded door of the property adds to a safe location. With only about five units, there are no worries about a ton of foot traffic or slamming doors from others staying in the building and we actually never saw anyone else in the building over four days. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely stay here again. The main goals were to have a relaxing long weekend (Thurs-Sun), be in walking distance of everything in the historic district, and feel at home. All of these were met without question.
Owner Response
Thanks so much. Just to clarify, the bed here is a King size.
This one bedroom condo was great! Close to Forsyth Park and the river, comfortable bed and nice sized kitchen. Honestly the only thing it was lacking was HDTV since we were relaxing and watching football bowl games on NY Day! We would highly recommend and will be back.
The location couldn’t be better, in the historic disctrict right between the river and Forsyth Park. Note: there is no elevator to this unit, you will need to walk up the stairs. I parked at a deck that was a block and a half away and that seemed to be a good solution. The apartment is lovely and nice sized. Only very very basic kitchen gear. Cleaned well. Bathroom is a little older but certainly serviceable. Windows are made of paper, you will hear every word of the conversations on the street below. Street noise wasn’t a problem really, although you can hear music from the store below during the day, which could be a problem if you wanted to nap. Things I wish had been different: The bedroom and family room really need light blocking shades that are sized for the window. The curtains provided almost no light blocking and not enough privacy as they were too small for the window. I wish there was a table or dresser of some sort in the bedroom, there was no good place to put clothes away so we could stash suitcases. The rollaway twin bed has seen better days, it’s a little rickety. Overall great communication from owner and a really fantastic location, I’d definitely stay here again.
Owner Response
Thanks for the kind words about location and cleanliness. This is indeed one of the best vacation condos in downtown Savannah for those reasons. When you come to Savannah's downtown you are visiting a protected Landmark Historic District where our buildings are primarily 120-150+ years old. The historic windows are one of the prized preservation items as they are old growth wood frames and often still have "wavy glass". Many tourists complain about the single pane windows in the historic properties not being sound proof without realizing their architectural significance is something owners are forbidden from altering. The Historic Savannah Foundation does have a compelling page on their website about the benefits of preserving the original windows and why modern windows are not actually superior. Using a white noise free app on your phone or our provided white noise machine helps travelers sleep without noticing the voices or other city noises on the street below.
LOVED our stay on W York street! Visited Savannah for a wedding, and found this cute condo in the heart of everything! Easy walk to so many great restaurants and shops. The perfect place for a weekend getaway for a couple. The owner was super responsive and very accommodating. HIGHLY recommend!
The condo was in a perfect location. We could walk to everything. Museums, Ghost tours, shops, riverwalk, and a vast amount of different restaurants. We will definitely come back to Savannah. We loved it. It was perfect for my husband and I. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home.
My husband and I had a wedding to attend in Savannah and decided to make an extra long weekend out of it. It was our first time visiting and couldn’t have loved the city more! This condo was absolutely perfect! The location is almost directly in the middle of the city so perfect much everything was a quick, easy walk. The condo is extremely clean, comfortable and biggger than expected. I hope to visit Savannah again and would absolutely re-book this unit!
The condo was everything advertised. It was clean, nicely decorated and provided basic amenities. It was great to have it centrally located. Mary was easy to contact and the door codes made it easy. We took the Amtrak to Savannah with a short ride. You will not need a car if you plan on staying around the downtown, extremely walk-able. Thank you again!
My wife and I had a great stay here. It was very clean, and had everything we needed for our anniversary trip. Having the parking deck pass was a bonus for us. It was added after we booked our stay, and was a nice surprise, since parking was our only concern. We parked and walked everywhere. The historic windows were thin and did let noise in, but when I turned the white noise machine on, we slept really well on the very comfortable bed. We would definitely stay here again.
We thought the place was nice and clean. Convenient location and entry + exit was pretty simple with the keypad system. The only minor complaints I had were that the curtains didn't offer much privacy in both the living room & bedroom. They seemed to be too "short" on both sides to accurately cover the windows in both directions. Also, we initially had lots of trouble finding the building on our phone map, even with the picture of the exterior provided. We had to park, get out, and literally walk around a couple of blocks in several directions to find it on foot first. Overall, we'd stay here again though. Thanks!
Owner Response
We are very sorry to hear Tina had trouble locating this prominent well marked location. We have 4 condos on the vacation rental circuit at this building, using the same instructions/address and we have never heard of anyone having noteworthy trouble identifying the building before. The only explanation I can imagine for this story is that the "phone map" system this couple used was faulty, or that they entered the address incorrectly in their GPS. The awning has such large lettering, getting out of the car to see the address should not be necessary. Regarding the curtains, considering the large number of people who have stayed in and commented on the condo without complaining we believe that is not a problem. The owners stay here routinely as well. We know that people want privacy and the curtains are long enough to provide that.
It was in the perfect location. Just the right size for me and my new wife to stay in. The parking situation was a little tough, but loved that we didn’t have to pay to park in the parking garage. It would have been a little better if there would have been a tv in the bedroom. All in all it was a great time and a great place.
We spent Christmas Day here, picking up groceries outside of town on the way in. We appreciated the full kitchen to cook a Christmas lunch and eat at home for the three days. Exceptionally located in the heart of the historic district and easy walking to all main areas. Parking is a few blocks away in a city lot, but it's easy in/out at any hour. If you have a lot of luggage (as we did with groceries), pay for a parking space for a few minutes or have luggage arranged for a quick unload.
What a wonderful apartment. Spotlessly clean. Not just rental clean but grandma clean! You notice the smell of clean the second you walk in. Beautiful decorations and well appointed kitchen. The sound machine was a great touch to cover the sound of a city that really never sleeps. Loved our stay.
Had a great trip to Savannah with my daughter! Would recommend this to anyone. Too much to see in Savannah to spend long periods of time in the apartment it was just what we needed. Very clean and comfortable bed. Kitchen very nice even thought we didn't use it. Hope to visit again some day soon!
Had an absolutely amazing stay. Couldn't have been more thrilled to have found this gem. Such a beautiful place in a fantastic location. The home was absolutely breathtaking. Better than anything we had imagined. The place was Spotless - not a spec of dirt or dust anywhere to be found. Well maintained and beautifully decorated and right in the heart of the historic district. Within a few minutes walk to EVERYTHING! Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
My fiance and I booked this property last-minute after other travel plans fell through, and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The condo was located in the center of everything; perfect walking distance to both the river and Forsyth Park. The private condo had all of the amenities that we could have needed and more- there was a laundry unit, place settings and glassware for 6, a dishwasher, TV with cable and fast wifi, and a parking spot included in the Robinson Garage. There was even a noise machine to use when sleeping if the sounds of the city prevent you from getting to sleep. In addition to the amazing location and ample amenities, one of the property managers, Jennifer, provided her cell phone number and was very quick to text back when we had questions about checking in/checking out/parking. The entire process was absolutely wonderful. I look forward to staying at this property the next time I am in Savannah!
This property has a great location to the historic district. There is lots of space to get cozy. There's a fun view from the windows. Very clean and felt like it could be home. Only downside is the noise from the street at night. The access to resturants and shops outweights any noise from the street.
Best AirBnB I've ever stayed in!
This is the best AirBnB I’ve ever stayed in! For Savannah, the location is incredible. Everything you would want to see is within a ten minute walk from Wright Square. The parking pass is a lifesaver! The garage is a few blocks away and super easy to use. Mary is super quick to respond and has some great recommendations. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will book again the next time I’m in Savannah!
