Enjoyed our Stay
Property was clean and great location, were able to walk everywhere. Only reached out to property manager with one question and had a response within minutes. Not the fault of the property manager, and we did not mention it to them at the time, but front door was left unlocked by guests in the other unit every time they left or returned, including overnight. Enjoyed the stay overall, unit was nice but some things need attention.
Charming
The property was charming! Really liked it and will book again with this group. The back entrance and adjoining patio could be so much more than it is. We walked everywhere from this location. And we were happy to come 'home' to this property. Communication with the managers was great. Thank you!
Perfect for our Anniversary stay
Came down for Anniversary. Location was clean and well maintained especially for the age of the building. Good access to all that there is to enjoy in Savannah. Will definitely use again in the future.
The location and parking space of this home made staying in Savannah easy. Just across from the cemetery park and near Liberty Street, you could walk everywhere in town. The 1850 building gave the right charm and feeling to the stay with cozy living spaces. Loved it!
This was a beautiful property in the historic district with authentic period decor. The furniture was very nice and in keeping with the historic charm of Savannah. The location is perfect for walking and exploring the historic district, gardens. and historic attractions.

So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, Karen! Thank you for sharing your experience. Travel well and we'll look forward to hosting you again on a future visit to Savannah!
Several great things about this place--location, private parking, very comfortable bed, and the responsiveness of the property manager, Mary. Overall, I would rate a 4.5, but there is no way to give a 1/2 star. There were a few negatives, which may not bother some. We had very hard rain for about a day and a half, and the ceiling in the kitchen started dripping. Minor enough to catch with mixing bowls, but contributed to dampness. Had allergies while I was here, I think due to old building structure & perhaps dust in heating/AC ducts. There was a trace of a "musty" odor (probably typical of old buildings) when we first checked in--I am particularly sensitive; others might not be. Pictures of the unit showed open plantation blinds at the window, but only the mini-blinds in the kitchen worked. Other shades didn't twist open to let in light, although they could be lifted partially up the window with some effort. I think the owner needs to put some resources into repairing leaks, fixing or replacing blinds, and perhaps cleaning vents/ventilation system.
We were in Savannah for a professinal conference at a well known hotel, but found that the conference had not planned for enough rooms, so we decided to try for an historic Airbnb within walking distance to the conference. The manager was terrific, always available to answer questions and sporting a great attitude! The photos perfectly represented the apartment -- the flavor of which spoke purely "Old Savannah"! We could walk a couple of blocks and be in all the action along Oglethorpe Blvd. We will definitely try to rent this particular apartment next trip!
We stayed here for a couple of nights in February. The property was absolutely beautiful and having a dedicated parking spot is an added bonus. Just park your car and you can walk everywhere around the Historic District Mary was great to work with throughout the entire process I would definitely stay here again if I am traveling to Savannah
This space was perfectly located for walking Savannah and it was also great to have a place to park the car (included in rental) and not worry about it all weekend. The room(s) were older and a bit worn but none the less, comfortable and suited us fine. The price was good for the location but I highly disagree with homeaway / VRBO's cleaning fee's. Especially when you rent a place and they expect you to take out the trash, do the dishes, pile the dirty linens etc... I understand a deposit for any damage or excess mess but to charge upwards of $100 in excess of the rental fee just to have someone make the bed and pickup the dirty sheets? I would feel less injured/insulted if that was just included in the rental and not shown as a separate cost. They bait you with a low price and then add a fee for this and a fee for that. May as well get a hotel....
Owner Response
For other guests and to add transparency and understanding, I would point out this person seems to imagine that the service fee and maid fee are both added by us. That isn’t correct. The service fee is not charged by us and we don’t receive a dime of it. It is a percentage of our rate added by the third party booking site HomeAway/Vrbo for their company income. The worldwide booking site parent company Expedia is the owner of lots of other affiliates so guests on other websites may be reading this too. The homeowner and local vacation rental company do not charge the service fee. Guests who book on this platform pay the service fee and we ourselves also pay $500 per year just to advertise on this website. On the other hand our maid fee is a set flat fee we pass on to her to setup the apartment for each new guest. We can’t roll it into the rate because she does get the same pay each time she comes to setup the unit whether the guest stayed a week or just one night. We pay her that fee and she doesn’t just do all the laundry she vacuums, mops, sanitizes and dusts and sets the place up with dish soap, bath soap, toilet paper and shampoo. She has to keep her schedule open seven days a week to drive here any day of the week that guests checkout and her pay of $55 for all of that is very fair. It could not get done properly for less. It is true we ask guests to standardize the maids scope or work by washing their own dishes (leaving them in the dishwasher is even acceptable). We would have to charge more or varying amounts if we allowed unlimited dirty dishes to be left for the maid at checkout. We don’t require the bed to be stripped and leaving the used towels in a pile is merely a suggestion hardly a chore/requirement. The only other comment I would add as a response to this review is that the rooms are not simply “old and worn” this is building from the mid 1800’s located in the landmark historic district. It’s true some guests may prefer to simply get a hotel but I think that’s more accurate for those who don’t appreciate the historic buildings and would enjoy new construction hotels. They are more expensive overall though if you want to be anywhere near this location in the city.
It’s an older home that has three levels. This unit was middle level. No one stayed above us so that was quiet. Did hear people talking a few times but otherwise only road noise. (I stayed in the 3rd floor a few months ago and lots more road noise at that time with tours and horses late at night.) This place was conveniently located and an easy walk in the middle area of what I consider downtown.l Savannah. Parking is sparse at times and this one comes with your own spot so you don’t have to buy a pass or feed the meters. Situated between Forsyth Park and the Riverfront. We walked almost everywhere taking a different route each time so we could see more of the city. There are some glasses and bowls, really didn’t look for any other type of cooking utensils and cookware since we ate out. Fridge, microwave, and washer/dryer in small kitchen. This unit did have a small dining table (upstairs unit did not) and also 2 non-working fireplaces. It was cold this trip and my husband couldn’t seem to get warm with the high ceilings and wood floors...it is an old property. It was fine for me. The owner was available with one parking issue and it was resolved quickly. No complaints really. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the downtown area. You will have to walk but it isn’t bad from here. Also, there are several restaurants close by within walking distance that were delicious!
Large 1 bedroom unit and close to everything. The place was clean, brand new refrigerator and quiet. The sheets were exceptionally soft. Great breakfast place around the corner called J Christophers. Thanks for a great stay!
Loved every aspect of this apartment - the convenient downtown location, the furnishings, the responsiveness of the hosts to my few questions and concerns. For a home built in the 1850s, this was well kept and decorated. Only heard my upstairs neighbors a few times. The construction behind the house was completed long ago and not a factor for me. Overall, this apartment was perfect, and I would definitely book again.
This was a very comfortable apartment in a wonderful location. According to Google maps the apartment is a .7 mile walk to the Savannah River and a .7 mile walk to Forsyth Park. If you don’t want to walk, you can use the free DOT shuttle. There are a few shuttle stops near the apartment. The shuttle will give you access to many areas in the Savannah historic district. Once you park your car in the parking space that is included, you shouldn’t need to move your car. The Parker Urban Market is very close to the apartment.
The parlor room here was clean and comfortable. This was a perfect room for my husband and I to spend a couple of days and take in the historic sites. We liked the area because it was in walking distance of several restaurants. I would not recommend this for young children or elderly. The back entry is the most convenient place to park and go in but has very steep and uneven stairs-- so not easy coming in and out and definitely not easy carrying any type of luggage.
We LOVED the location!!! Every site we wanted to see was within walking distance! Really roomy accommodations, and really neat to stay in an older building — it got us into the Savannah ‘mood’. Will definitely want to stay here again!
Owner Response
This family was such a pleasure to host. They stayed long enough to really get to know the city and we look forward to many more enthusiastic guests just like them.
My 2 friends and I came down for a girls weekend. The property was close to everything and very clean and neat with everything we needed. It was easy to get access into the apartment. The king bed and the pullout couch was very comfortable. The parking spot was big enough for our big SUV. No complaints at all and will definitely book for this location or any others with this company when coming back down.
We stayed 4 nights and this property is everything we expected from the description. It was a little confusing finding it to begin with, but after circling the block and finding the proper alley, we made it to our parking space. Construction on a building behind this property began early in the morning and there was noise and a mess the whole time we were there, but since we didn't need our car after arriving, we tried to ignore the bedlam. The courtyard from the parking space to the back stairs needs lots of work, but until the construction crews are gone, there isn't any need to fix it up. Inside, we found the bed was firm with wonderful soft linens, excellent pillows and a lovely spread. Extra pillows and blankets were available in the armoire. Bathroom towels were plentiful and plush and the water pressure in the shower was great. Kitchen had all appliances one could need as well as washer and dryer. The living room was very comfortable and the central heat & air worked great. We would have liked to know more about the age of the home and any history; however, the decorations & furniture were perfect for a Savannah home. Area rugs were so nice on those wide-plank floors and lighting was pretty good. Would have been nice to have a good reading lamp near sofa, but not necessary. So many restaurants to choose from, so much to see & do and all within walking distance. Perfection! We would definitely stay here again if we had the chance.
The room was perfect. Mary was very accommodating and answered all our questions. Very spacious room, great bed and we had our own private parking spot (hard to do in Savanna). Would stay there again and tell all or friends.
This rental was perfect for our Savannah vacation. The rental was in a wonderful location within walking distance to much of historic Savannah. The apartment was very clean and my grand-daughter and I felt safe staying there. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed watching the Clydesdale drawn carriages pass by the front window. I was concerned about the construction going on in the rear of the unit, but it did not disturb us as we were out most of the day and the workers ceased working at a reasonable hour in the early evening. It was nice to have an assigned parking spot in the rear of the apartment. I did have a small inconvenience getting to the spot on occasion due to construction trucks and equipment blocking the entrance to the parking pad. The workers moved them in a reasonable amount of time. The restaurant known as The Hitch is within walking distance and I encourage anyone staying here to dine there. We also walked To Leopold's Ice Cream Parlor which will be 100 years in business next year,. It is well worth a visit. Colonial Park Cemetery is directly across from this unit and is a must-visit if you love history. According to the book we read in the apartment Union soldiers camped there and changed many of the carvings on the tomb stones. I loved the unit and would gladly recommend it if you, like I, enjoy staying in a historic building with all of its nuances.
Enjoyed staying at this property again. The bathroom is starting to show its age and could use some refreshing, and the rear courtyard could use some work, but still a great experience. Great location, great ambience and a great stay overall.
Right in the historic district, walking distance to all the sights and restaurants. Was just the right size for 3 people, but not ideal for young children due to breakables or people who have trouble with stairs. Everything was clean and easy to find, although the kitchen could use a bigger pot. Would definitely stay there again.
We were in Savannah for two full days, and were thrilled that this apartment was in the heart of the historic area so we could walk to everything. It was clean and roomy, and the bed was comfortable. The apartment is decorated with beautiful antiques. There is some street noise and construction behind the apartment, but it didn't bother us at all and there's a white noise machine if needed. Be prepared to climb a flight of steps to get to the apartment. The hostess has a nice notebook full of information and recommendations. We would stay here again if we get another chance to visit this beautiful city!
Owner Response
We thank each and every person who has stayed here during more than one year of construction. We look forward to getting back to "normal" later in 2018. This will always be a bustling city center location but it will be a welcome return to the norm when the heavy construction equipment finally departs from the large new hotel being built from the ground up. This apartment is walking distance to all tourist destinations in the Historic District as well as all the greatest dining options.
We enjoyed being in historic Savannah. We were close to everything we wanted to go to. However, construction of two major buildings is going on right in your backyard. The Noise starts at 6:30 AM and continues after dark, to get to the parking slot you have to maneuver through the construction zone, and car was always covered with dirt. The apartment was great.
My husband and I stayed here over New Years. It was our first time to Savannah, so we were pleasantly surprised at the location of this condo. It is located in the middle of the Historic District and was just a short walk to all of the popular attractions around the City. The unit itself was huge and surprisingly quiet, considering it is located on a busy street. We also found the amenities, including the in unit washer/dryer and full kitchen to be really convenient. My only complaint would be that the unit could use a little TLC. The glaze on the bathtub was chipping and most, if not all, of the window treatments were broken. But, based on the reasonable price and prime location, I would recommend staying here!
This place was perfect for the two of us as it was located near everything we wanted to see, and the parking pad was an excellent bonus that we do not have to worry about constantly finding parking spots. Thank you!
When I got there my first impression was less than stellar for the price l paid. The steps up to the parlor needs a serious pressure washing and painting. Same thing with the front door. The amenities were minicule at best. One bar of soap the size of a quarter for 5 days. I had to go to the store for more soap. 2 rolls of toilet paper for 5 days seemed really cheap. Towels were left in the dryer when we checked in. I checked out and talked to Mary Anderson explaining that I followed all the rules about taking out the trash, washing the dishes and putting the linens where I was supposed to and staying true to the neighbors who live there with myself and my daughter remaining quiet respecting them and leaving the property in excellent order upon our departure and letting the management know our departure time as asked. I can't say I would rent this again. It's just not kept up.
Owner Response
Guests are always welcome to more soap and as much toilet paper as they need. It is the standard to leave one bar of soap and 2 backup toilet paper rolls for each arrival which is typically enough for each reservation but had we known this guest would like more we would have given it to her right away. In fact the extras are in the unit. This guest knew how to reach me but simply did not request the items she was wishing for. To address the front steps and door critique in the review it is important to remember that not only is this building 150 years old but it is in the city center, with busses, trolleys, horses and other traffic passing by the building entrance all day. The front entry stairs are concrete with a metal hand rail. The painted wooden common entry door is over 100 years old and has some "character" and flaws but it is outside. Our housekeeper takes great pride in keeping the interior clean and cozy. The value of the apartment for lodging should be obvious to anyone comparing rates for accommodations in this part of town. We hope to get more guests like the many generous positive reviewers who appreciate the benefits and can overlook the same flaws. And we urge our guests to never hesitate to let us know if we can help with simple items like additional soap.
We fell in love as soon as we walked in! The pictures do not do justice - it was so charming, and the decor was beautiful! There was plenty of space for 4 girls to get ready for a fun bachelorette weekend! Will recommend over and over!
We had a great stay in the parlor apartment with the spacious king bed and generous sized living room. Also loved having the full sized refrigerator and washer and dryer. This apartment could not be in a more convenient location. We LOVED breakfast at J. Christopher's around the corner and multiple places to get dinner and drinks just minutes away. The cathedral across the street was beautiful! Warning, you'll get woke at 7 am each morning from the construction in the back and your car will be covered in major dust.
Clean and easy to get to. Close to everything. Once we were parked we never had to drive anywhere. Regarding parking, yes there is construction going on, however we knew this going in, therefore was not a problem. When we were leaving construction crew were very helpful in getting us out when we were ready to go. Manager was very helpful with our late check-in and with check out. Bed was comfortable , would like to have had better/more pillows for sleeping. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
Owner Response
Thank you so much. It is important for guests to let us know when the pillows need to be replaced, since we are not sleeping there it is hard to be sure. We will get some new ones.
This apartment is exactly as pictured. Beautiful, clean and centrally located in the historic district. It has a private parking which is a big plus! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead if 5 is because its noisy outside. The fire station is just around the corner and trucks do go out from time to time during the night. There's also a construction behind the building and they began construction early in the morning. But we loved the aprtment and enjoyed our stay here and would most certainly stay again. I would recommend bringing ear plugs.
As advertised. Don't be fooled about on street parking. If you plan on never leaving once you get there then it may not be an issue. There were never any parks available near this unit so the private space was great to have. It is a tight spot and tight alley so a large vehicle would be tricky. Overall good spot and very good location. High rise apts being built next door but no noise after hours. They got started early but so did we so we had no issues. Would stay here again especially for the price. Stayed in a B and B on tybee for $500 a night so we were trying to conserve here. It was just as nice.
The apartment is in a great historic district location. The building is definitely old, but all was in good working order. The bed is comfortable, the sheets very nice. The apartment is exactly as the pictures portray. We were very comfortable and the space suited our needs fine. The parking space is tight and there is major construction going on right behind the building, which has the alley pretty torn up. The workers were very nice and moved their equipment and watched for us each time we needed to get the car out. The construction is noisy, but we were not there during the day, so it really did not bother us. We would stay here again.
We booked here for because of the off street parking, which can be hard to find in the historic district. We were able to walk most every place went so it was nice to have a place to park. One down side is the construction going on behind the house where the parking is at. You may find that when you need your car you may be blocked in and have to track down the Forman to have them move something. Our truck was also covered in what looked like cement dust and could tell that the workers had been leaning on it because of the spots on the sides where there was no dust. I really liked the location but be aware of the construction. I never heard construction noise in the morning, but I do sleep soundly and have some hearing loss. My wife said she only woke up one morning because she heard construction noises. Over all you can't beat this location if you want walk the city the way we did, just be aware it looks like they have at least a year of construction left.
We enjoyed our stay at this HomeAway apartment. The location was excellent, you can walk to everything. It was very clean and had good air conditioning. The parking was right behind the building. The shower could use a new head. Ask for the nearest store to purchase provisions. There is also a good place for breakfast at the corner, very convenient.
This is a five-star location, between Liberty and Oglethorpe on Abercorn; once we parked the car we walked everywhere we wanted to go. We've stayed in fancier apartments, but this one was certainly nice, though a box of tissues and a cutting board for the kitchen would have been appreciated; so four stars for the apartment. A very large building is going up right across the alley; if you ever want to sleep after 7:30 a.m. in 2017 (Monday-Saturday), then you might want to look elsewhere. All in all, we'll gladly come back--after that building is done!
We stayed for 4 nights (Friday - Monday) in this well-situated parlor apartment. The location was perfect for our events at the Independent Presbyterian Church located just a couple of blocks away. We also were able to walk everywhere downtown in about 10 minutes or less. All the tour buses pass by the apartment and their bus stop is located a block away near St. John the Baptist Cathedral. We just bought our tickets online and hopped on one of the tour buses at this stop. Though the building is old, the inside is nicely furnished and clean. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and the new washer and dryer. The internet was fast. The only thing we didn't use was the TV and you won't either because there is just too much to do in Savannah. The unit manager, Mary, was great to work with and very accommodating. Having used VRBO units in the past, I can tell you that this is a big plus. If you have mobility issues, this unit may not be the best fit for you as there is a flight of stairs in the front, a steep staircase in the rear and a few uneven spots within the unit. But if that isn't an issue, I can highly recommend this unit.
We enjoyed the stay very much! This was our first time in Savannah, and the bar has now been set relatively high. The room was convenient to several restaurants, a nice wine bar within 200 ft, and a 5 minute walk from East Broughton. The king bed was super comfortable (a high compliment coming from a Tempur Pedic owner), and the noise machine was a nice touch. Speaking of noise, I would have liked to have not heard so much of what our "upstairs neighbors" had going on, but I also understand that construction of this era didn't focus on insulation and noise reduction. There were no chairs in the courtyard, had I wanted to sit outside, and if I can make a suggestion: visitors should expect to bring or buy your own sugar packets, coffee filters, laundry detergent pods, and dryer sheets. Overall, a very nice stay in a city that has much more to see and offer than one can absorb in a few short days! I would definitely recommend this place, and will be booking again in the future because that's what creatures of habit do! God bless
Great location--we walked everywhere! And it's easy to get to the freeways from here. Having a parking spot and a washer/dryer was a real plus. The bed was very Comfortable. Could use a couple more lamps in the living area for reading and a bit more counter space in bathroom, but neither of these items would prevent me from renting this unit again.
Enjoyed our stay in the historical section of Savannah. The location of the unit we rented was outstanding. We were able to walk everywhere & see all the attractions that were of interest to us. The apartment was very nice & suited us well.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights the weekend before Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The Parlor suite was warm, cozy, beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. We loved the location - once we arrived, we left our car in the parking spot and walked everywhere we wanted to go. There were so many wonderful things to see, do and eat within a 10 or 15 minute walk and it was so nice to be able to go back "home" to drop off our shopping bags and head right back out again. This home is directly across from Colonial Park Cemetery and a block from St. John's Cathedral. The bell ringer kept time for us! We would not hesitate to stay here again!
My wife and I planned our trip to Savannah months before we went. Wouldn't you know it. A hurricane decided to make an appearance. We still managed to make it in to Savannah, but our rental did not have electricity. Mr. Anderson, sorry I forgot your first name, arranged for us to stay in another rental unit that was also in the Historic District for the first couple of days. That place was nice and appreciated. When the electricity was restored to this rental unit, we moved over to it. It was only a few blocks away, and in fact we had walked by it several times when we were wandering around the District. The location is perfect for those that want to explore the Historic District. Everything is within walking distance. There is a building being built across the alley in back. It never was a distraction and did not take away from the atmosphere of this place. The kitchen is small, and only has the bare essentials in cooking and dinnerware ware. No salt, pepper or sugar. But with so much around, who wants to cook or eat in, anyway. The furnishing are very comfortable and cozy. A very relaxing place to unwind after a day , or night, of sightseeing. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The only things that need a little attention is the floor in the bathroom, there were a few weak spots in the floor that need to be repaired before it becomes a major repair, and the back door is almost impossible to open and even harder to close. If we get a chance to come back to Savannah, we will be keeping this place on our list. Thanks again for your hospitality during the aftermath of the hurricane.
We had a wonderful stay at this property in historic downtown Savannah. Located within walking distance to everything you want or need downtown, we parked our car in the parking spot provided and left it there the entire weekend. (You read that right...the unit comes with its own parking space. FANTASTIC!) The apartment was clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. The property manager was responsive and friendly. The residence's owner's book included some wonderful tips and dining recommendations, which we really appreciated (Tequila's Town on Whitaker had scrumptious, inexpensive Mexican food; we also loved B. Matthews on Bay Street (we went for breakfast). And do not miss a chance to go to the Olde Pink House! It's a MUST!). We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in town and would be happy to recommend it to our friends as well.
Loved staying here instead of a hotel. It's within easy walking distance to everything. It had all the comforts of home and was clean and exactly as pictured. Didn't have any problems or issues, so I never had to contact the owner while staying here. I would definitely rent this place again and recommend it to family and friends.
Great location. No matter which way you turn when going out to enjoy your day or evening in beautiful Savannah you are not but steps away from everything. When returning for the night peaceful and quiet. Wonderful king size bed. Very comfortable. Absolutely love this parlor apartment.
I've lived about 2 hours west of of Savannah, in the middle of Georgia, my whole life and never really experienced the historic charm that Savannah has to offer. So when my girlfriend asked for a trip to Savannah for her birthday back in November, I was all for it. If you book this condo, you will absolutely LOVE it and it will make you fall in love with Savannah. It fits with the Savannah charm! Mary was super accommodating and helpful with a small issue we had when we arrived regarding parking, especially it being sort of late at night. She handled it immediately, and since we had no clue of the side street parking rules, she gave us info on that. She makes you feel like you're friends and you're staying at their place for the weekend while they're out.. When we walked in, I was floored! The pictures don't do it justice. Gorgeous windows in the master overlooking Abercorn, the poster bed, the tall dresser. We walked alongside the cemetery down to Broughton when we got in that night, and came back to relax in bed with wine and watch TV. We woke up the next morning and walked to the Cathedral of St John The Baptist, which is literally to the right of you looking out the bedroom window, breakfast at The Collins Quarter, of which I highly recommend. We went shopping throughout the day and enjoyed the Savannah scenery and River Street. After walking 9 miles total, it was nice to come back, take a good shower, play a card game over wine, and relax in bed. Everything was clean, prompt, and cozy. The only minor complaint is the sound. It can get a little noisy from the people above you, but it's nothing too bad. It's a older building so it's expected. Plus, it's the parlor apartment. Also, that my girlfriend fell in love with the antique vanity and very much wants me to buy her one.. $$$$. Lol. Other than that, thank you Mary for this wonderful property and your helpfulness. You helped make my girlfriends birthday amazing! We definitely plan on being back in the near future when we get home from the beach! And I hope to book this property from now on when we come to Savannah! -Lacey + Brittany
We were excited as we drove into the historic part of Savannah but I got goosebumps when I walked into the entry hall of the building! When I opened the door to the apartment I got excited!! I ran down to the car and told my wife she was going to love it! The apartment was comfortable, the bed was great, and the funishings kept you imagining what it was like to live in the 1800s. It was nice to have off street parking as the car sat almost all week. The location is far enough from the busy areas so it was quiet, but close enough to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Two things that should be addressed are the floor in the bathroom by the tub and the garden area which was overgrown. The apartment was exactly as pictured on line and any concerns or questions were answered immediately. We were in Savannah for a wedding and showed the apartment to other family members staying in hotels and they wanted to trade with us. Would we recommend it to others or stay here again? You bet!!!
My grandmother and I traveled to Savannah for a short vacation, and decided to stay here. It was lovely! The first thing we noticed was how clean it was; certainly comparable to a hotel. This apartment is tucked away in the historic district, and has parking behind the building. It has a character from another time due to its style and antique furniture. It was perfect for a quick getaway thanks to the kitchenette, cleanliness, and ease of access. The price was also wonderful for what we received- we were very impressed. We would recommend this spot to anyone traveling to Savannah in need of a comfortable, clean, historic place to stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment! It is located in a perfect area of downtown Savannah. Close to everything! The apartment was quiet, and well appointed. Also, the parking space is an awesome bonus! We certainly will stay here again the next time we are in Savannah!
This property was the perfect location in the historic district. My husband and I were walking distance from everything from Forsyth Park to the Riverfront. The apartment was very clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would recommend staying here to everyone looking for a getaway to Savannah. Mary & Jesse
Location, Location, Location! This charming Parlor flat was perfect for my fiance and I to call home base wile we met with Wedding Vendors for our 2017 wedding. It was also a lovely way to immerse ourselves in that southern world we adore so much!
Great Location, off street parking, clean, well stocked w/towels hair dryer glasses pots pans & etc.
Loved the location & off street parking we parked on Fri. didn't move the Jeep till next Thur. everything within walking distance. Parlor very comfortable good seating area, great bed, well stocked & Mary was available with help when needed. We had a great stay & will stay here again when back in Savannah. Only down side the stove and frig. could use updating, although we did not cook.
Super clean, very functional, perfect for a couple with kids or anyone needing a single bedroom. If you're a group of two adult couples, it may be tight depending on your comfort-level with having a couple on a pull-out couch in the living room and sharing a single bathroom. I found the living room and bedroom decor/furnishings to be beautifully in keeping with the historic style of the downtown area and I quite enjoyed the quiet time in the parlor having coffee/wine and reading/listening to music (bring your own radio/stream your own tunes b/c there's no radio or similar device already there). WIFI worked great, but streaming music would get hiccupy if I had my device in the bathroom or kitchen area (router is in bedroom). The kitchen and bathroom were very clean...furnishings were a bit dated and generally didn't match the decor of the rest of the place, but everything worked well and I wouldn't drop a star in the rating because having access to off-street parking and being in the center of downtown more than makes up for it! I didn't use the courtyard in the back since it was chilly, but probably wouldn't use it regardless. You do hear folks upstairs walking about -- hard not to in these older houses where everything's creaky -- but unless you're a stickler for absolute silence, it's not that big a deal. I'm pretty sure it's a vacation rental as well. I felt pretty safe walking around, even at night. That's not to say you shouldn't practice caution and monitor surroundings. I grew up on Gaston St. a few blocks south so it was a joy to come back home and walk about downtown again. Property is in a great, central location and everything from groceries to shopping to dining to historic sites were walkable for anyone reasonably mobile (much like the French Quarter in New Orleans). Parker's is a very nice convenience store (think high-end grocery meets 7-11 with good prices) around the corner for common grocery items, beer/wine, snacks, deli/pre-made food. Full grocery/pharmacy is Kroger, ~10-15min walk south on Habersham, and you'll pass Johnnie Ganem's, the go-to for liquor on the way. Numerous of pubs/dining/shopping venues are a 5-7min walking radius (Liberty St. and Clary's were my regular haunts), with more along Broughton/Bay/River Streets, about 10-15min walk north. I suspect most folks who love the charm/beauty of the area wouldn't even "feel" the walking because it's so nice.
We enjoyed our stay in this property as it has a great location where you can walk to River Street, and the many tourist attractions nearby. The apartment is true to the posted pictures and we were pleased to stay in a historic building itself, dating back to 1850. We found the bed and sofa bed both very comfortable. We love everything about the place, and would recommend it to travellers wanting a non-hotel option. The parking stall was a great feature as we had a car and street parking is limited. The Colonial cementary is across the street and the Cathedral is a block away, both of which we really enjoyed. Loved the Crystal Beer Parlour for good food and atmosphere. We did a hop on-off trolley and it took us 3 changes to get a driver we could understand and enjoy. But we expected that, so it was part of the adventure. We loved walking River Street and sat out at Joe's Seafood to watch the ships coming in to port. The Blue Dot transit is free and you can use it to travel around the district, the map is on line or ask for it at the tourist centre. We took the little boat across the river, just for fun and it was free! We were happy with our rental as the booking was easy and the checking in was convenient. It was all great!
When we arrived at our location we thought perhaps we had the wrong place. The beautiful period door & awning were filthy. They needed either a good washing or painting. The area out back could be a charming courtyard but it needed a good tidy up. We thought oh, no what have we got ourselves into. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered our "parlour" unit, it was very very clean. It had lots of charm and the 2 fireplaces were lovely. The towels were very good quality and very soft. We did not use many of the amenities as we ate out most of the time. We did find the height of the bed a little difficult, it was way too high. The location of this property is perfect as it is very central and has good walkability for sites and restaurants. We would highly recommend the 17Hundred90 restaurant. One of the oldest inns in Savannah, but has chandelier lighting, candilt tables and a piano player. The meal was one of the best we have had. Don't miss the clam stew, yummy. A good unit but could do with some TLC on the outside.
Owner Response
The photos look exactly the same as the house looks in person Sometimes when it rains a lot or in pollen season the awning looks dirty. Much like a black car that shows dirt. It is true the front door needs to be cleaned regularly and this is a very busy urban area with trolleys, busses, horses & cars driving by all day and night so the exterior takes a beating, not to mention that is well over 100 years old. We do plan to re-paint the door soon when nobody is staying there. But the inside is clean & cozy and for most people looking to stay in a historic building the outside looking a bit worn is acceptable.
The apartment is perfectly located in the middle of downtown so you can walk everywhere. Clean and comfortable quarters, quiet at night. The owner was very easy to work with - check-in and check-out were a breeze and they provide suggestions on what to do in a little book. What more could you ask for?
Perfect location , perfect ambiance , definitely would visit again and recommend , center of everything . We highly recommend PJs for breakfast Thai omelet ( two minute walk north from front door ) and Alligator soul for dinner ( short walk ) .
Will definitely stay again, what a terrific location and no worries about parking the car. This listing was accurate and well equipped for my wife and I. We stayed 2 nights and found the property clean and well maintained. Mary was very helpful via text if we had questions. Park your car in the convenient parking space in the back then forget all about it! The property location was ideal for walking and the trolley tours. Walking to the waterfront was very easy, the Old Pink House was on the way and was excellent for dinner. They have an awesome candlelit basement bar. I'd recommend reservations. Rock's on the Rooftop at the Bohemian was great atmosphere for sunset and drinks. Mercer House was another nice walk and just another block from there was Forsyth Park. This is such a beautiful city, it must be walked, and this property is right in the middle of it! A block away is the Cathedral where the trolleys have an on/off stop should you purchase a trolley tour. We then rode the trolley for a tour/break from all the walking. JL Christopher's right around the corner has a delicious breakfast, the skillets were yum! It's quite busy so be prepared to wait or make reservation. Mirabelle Cafe across from the Cathedral was a nice little coffee and fancy waffle spot. We had turkey sandwiches on sugary waffles and they were delish! So much to do, the only time we spent in the property was to sleep! Great stay in beautiful historic Savannah!
We couldn't believe our luck! This great apartment is literally in the center of everything in Savannah. The private parking space in back made coming and going soooo easy, though the entire city is easily walkable from here with no car necessary at all. Very clean, very cosy. This is our go-to spot now for every return trip to Savannah. Loved it!
Apartment is in a great location for walking everywhere. Very comfortable and the parking spot is a huge bonus. The washing machine was broken and owner got it repaired right away. The info about markets and restaurants was good and some of our favorite spots. A nice place to have a morning walk and sit in small cafe to start the day. Wouldn't recommend to those who have trouble with stairs. Very safe!
We stayed for a four-day visit. The private parking was most convenient. The pictures and description were very accurate. The location was fantastic and quiet. We were able to walk everywhere we went in the city, including attending a reception at the Hyatt on the river front. The little market a block away was most convenient for coffee; J. Christopher, right around the corner, was fantastic for breakfast one morning. Could not have been more satisfied. Having a washer/dryer was also very convenient.
My husband and I stayed at this parlor level apartment for a long weekend in Savannah to do sightseeing. It was truly perfect! Exactly as described with accurate photos. Right in the middle of downtown, you can park and walk everywhere. We would definitely recommend this property. Mary was very helpful and immediately replied to questions. Great experience - thank you.
We spent a week at this location. It was a great location, close to our favorite Karaoke Bar and the wine bar. The apartment was comfortable and inviting and really felt like home. The available parking space was a definite bonus. We look forward to returning next year.
The location of this condo is fantastic. We were just a bit disappointed that the fireplace was plug in and the courtyard had no seating but the easy walking distance to many great sites made up for this. The place was also very clean and bed super comfy.
This was a great location to explore Savannah. It was a clean and affordable home. Having the parking space to come home to was wonderful, no looking for parking spots. The only drawback was the lack of outdoor space to relax in. There was a nice park across the street that fulfilled that need. Would definitely recommend to friends. Thanks for the great vacation.
Perfect location in the historic district. FREE off-street parking spot. Nice, clean, affordable historic home (not as nice as the Hamilton-Turner home of course, but really nice for the cost) with good amenities. And the second floor apt.'s sofa bed is actually very comfortable. Property manager was always nice and responsive. Will definitely stay there next time we're in Savannah.
We had 48 hours to explore Savannah and chose this apartment as our base. We were thrilled with the location. Once we parked the car in its private parking spot, we did everything by foot. The historic area has so much to offer from museum homes to roof top bars. We like to be independent from hotel operations and have found another great place to add to our VRBO list of wonderful hosts, locations and properties.
My husband and I come to Savannah every year for our anniversary. This rental had everything we needed and the location was amazing. A quick walk to everything! We hope to stay here again next year. Highly recommend!
My wife and I come to Savannah 1 - 2 times a year, and this is our new favorite "go-to" place to stay. The location simply cannot be beat. You are steps from Broughton Street, the Chathedral, Colonial Park Cemetery, Parker's Market, and tons of great restaurants and shopping. The apartment itself is well appointed and very cozy. Everything to do was within walking distance, so we literally did not need to move our car the entire weekend we were here. This made it all the more helpful that the rental has its own private parking space in the back. I would easily recommend this rental to anyone. We're looking forward to coming back in the spring!

Thanks!
Awesome location
Awesome spot in the best part of downtown Savannah! You won't find a better location in the whole city.
Private space with perfect location
This was the perfect location for our weekend trip. It was so easy to walk to either River Street or any of the other local hot spots. I loved the fact that this space was in an historic building which really made visiting Savannah more fun. Being right across from Colonial Park made for a quiet stay as well. We were just far enough removed from the busiest part of town to make this space private and relaxing but close enough to the action that we could park the car all weekend and walk to just about anywhere in 5-10 minutes. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Savannah!
Lovely location!
The house is in a lovely location! Plenty roomy, lots of living space and quite clean and tidy. We really enjoyed our stay. We were left a binder with some great recommendations and tips and used it several times. Would absolutely book again, and would recommend to any friends or family!
Loved this apartment!
My husband and I loved this apartment. The location was so perfect! We parked our car in the apartment parking and didn’t have to drive for the entire stay. The restaurants, coffee and shopping nearby was perfect and a short walk to Broughton and River Street. The street can be a bit noisy, but Mary provides a noise machine for those unfamiliar with city living. Check-in & check-out were a breeze. Overall the apartment was clean, spacious, and perfect for our 4 days in Savannah. We hope to come back soon and stay in this lovely apartment.
Awesome space
Awesome space close to everything for a first time visitor. Really enjoyed the convenience to all the sites we wanted to visit.
