Perfect getaway
First trip away from our child. We walked , drank and soaked up as much history as we could! Such a relaxing place to come back from our adventure and recap the day and plan for another. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
It was perfect!
We loved it! Cant wait to come back!
Everything was perfect
This apartment was spotless, perfect location and the fire place was a bonus!! This was where my husband and I fell in love with Savannah! We cant wait to come back and would love to stat in this beautiful space
The Carriage House is perfect for couples or friends looking to see Savannah while still wanting all the amenities of a house. Although small, it was perfect for our needs of all day activities around the city and a comfortable clean place to relax at night to plan the next day. Almost everything you need is within walking distance. Having a grocery store practically next door was especially convenient. We’ll be back for sure!! Highly recommend this property!
Great location. Quiet residential neighborhood so close to everything downtown. We were never more than a 5 minute drive from anything we wanted. Size of rental is great. Big shower, big (comfortable) bed, living room and kitchen were great. Outside courtyard is a HUGE plus. This is perfect for a couples retreat, families may need a bigger space, big based off our experience try to reach out to the owner of this one, because it’s worth it. Thanks so much for letting us stay, and making our vacation amazing.
The carriage house was perfect! Wonderful location, easy to access and had everything we needed. We will highly recommend! I was concerned about the bed after reading some earlier reviews. Sure, it was a little creaky, but didn't keep up from getting a good night's rest. So, don't let it deter you from staying here!
This was a wonderful place to stay in Savannah. It was a few blocks from a local bus stop and grocery store. It was clean, well decorated and had nice amenities for the renters. My husband, daughter and I enjoyed our stay.
Stayed in this quiet carriage house for 4 nights. Forsyth Park is a few blocks away and the riverfront is within walking distance. Far enough from the noise but close enough to enjoy historic Savannah. Nice and comfortable for 2 adults with a grocery store just around the corner. We would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Savannah.
Would love to come back. Great Host/Hostess and enjoyed every night staying here, Very clean and well equipped throughout the entire property. We are hesitant to give such a review, 'cause we may not be able to reserve again. Fantastic property.
Property was exactly as presented. Nicely furnished, very comfortable bed, high quality sheets and towels. The kitchen was well equipped. My only suggestion would be to add a few oven proof baking dishes. The location is an easy drive to the waterfront and other Savannah attractions. Would definitely stay in this unit again.
We were delighted with this apt. in a carriage house. Very private, very romantic and very convenient. The apt is clean, has a well stocked kitchen, and a very comfortable bed . The jazz festival just happened tobe going on at nearby Forsyth Park. The park also has tennis courts which my husband and I took advantage of .We even play doubles with some of the locals! There is an adorable cafe on the corner and a Kroger’s around the corner. Jennifer, Mary’s assistant is terrific, and will respond to any questions immediately. My husband and I highly recommend this lovely getaway!
Lovely, quiet apartment with easy on-street parking. The location was perfect with access to a coffee shop on the corner and Kroger less than a block away. We were able to walk comfortably to all of the sights we wanted to see in Savannah. The apartment was clean and had all of the items we needed. It may be time for a new mattress as it was a sagging a bit and creaked with every toss & turn. Oddly the sofa seemed to have the same ailments. Neither kept us from having a great visit to Savannah.
this house was just right for the 3 girls who stayed here. it was close enough to everything that we were able to walk to the city center w/o having to drive and search/pay for parking. we felt secure considering we had to go through an iron gate w/ a code, then again to the door w/ a code. the grocery store was 1 block away and forsyth park was just down the road. the bed was super comfortable and the house was well stocked! it was just perfect!!!
Amazing place with everything you need. It's exactly as pictured and so adorable. Close to a grocery store and nice little cafe on the corner. Less than a mile from the center of the historic district. Very quiet and comfortable.
It was very relaxing, close to a coffee shop and grocery store. All amenities were accommodating. We were able to walk to everything in the city which was nice. Looking forward to staying here again in the future.
We stayed for a girl's weekend (3 of us) and were thoroughly impressed by how clean and beautiful the property was! It was easy to get back to the carriage house, but gave you a secure feeling with the gates before the entrance. It was decorated adorably inside, and had literally all the amenities you would need (plenty of serving ware, drink ware, dish washing liquid and detergent, laundry detergent, iron and much more). Compared to other places I have stayed, we did not need to stop by the store for anything other than food! Which stopping by the store was very convenient because it was a just about a block away which made for a very short walk. We had quite a few activities planned and some were along the river so we ended up taking an Uber but the location was so close for driving that the ride was quick and cheap. The decoration felt updated but nostalgic with the architectural charms of Savannah that you want, so it made it feel like we were staying in a very comfortable hotel. Mary was great to work with and quick to respond. We would definitely choose this property again in the future!
We stayed for a week for Valentine's Day. The apartment was awesome. It had everything we needed and was nice and clean. The only thing I would change would be the television mount in the bedroom. When you lay in bed the pictures not that great because the TV needs to tilt down a little but has a mount that doesn't do that. No big deal though. We had a very good time. The old Pink House restaurant is AMAZING. We also did the Valentine dinner on the river boat which I highly suggest. The food was superb.
The carriage house was very nice and went above and beyond our expectations. I had reserved it for our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. We came to Savannah for my niece's wedding. The location was centrally-located and only four blocks from where the rest of the family stayed.
Had everything you could need to feel right at home.
Owner Response
Thanks Felix! This rental has been a tried and true location for visitors to stay in over the past 4 years and we truly believe that the quality of this property along with the beautiful and comfortable neighborhood location allow for a picture perfect vacation. -Mary (owner of Savannah Luxury Rentals)
It was a lovely cottage smack in the middle of everything! My husband and I didn't need a car as most everything is walking distance
Owner Response
We have keyless locks and very rarely have to assist guests with them as they are fairly straightforward to operate but we are more than happy to give extra instruction or assistance when necessary. You will have two direct cell phone numbers for real local residents in charge of reservations here if you book this unit (one number for the owner and one for the manager of Savannah Luxury Rentals both of who live less than 5 miles away) if you book this property. Do not worry about after hours answering machines or overseas 800 number confusion. We try to make everything as seamless as possible but if there are after hours issues we are available to help! -Mary Anderson
Great location right next to Forsyth Park. We could walk anywhere from here. Good price and free parking. Awesome coffee shop next door and only a couple blocks from Kroger. Well equipped rental was perfect for our anniversary stay.
The property looks just like it does in the pictures. Street parking was easy. Mary and her team very accessible and super easy to work with. Highly recommend.
Owner Response
It was a pleasure hosting you Dawn!
This property had everything my husband and I needed for a great last trip before we have our first baby! Mary was very easy to work with, and the location was very clean and comfortable. It was a plus to be able to find a king sized bed rental, and the bed was pretty comfy. It was always quiet as well. Having the full sized washer and dryer was a huge plus for us to be able to avoid tons of laundry when we got home. We didn't have much trouble parking on the street in front of the main house. There was always a spot either there or on Price Street. There is a Kroger within walking distance. There is also an amazing coffee shop on the corner, Mate Factor, which is steps away from the carriage house. I went there for drinks and pastries several mornings. We were within walking distance to some sights, and the trolley tour we went on picked up right at the corner of Hall by Forsyth. To get to the river area, we called Uber or Lyft. There was always one within minutes to us. We could have walked to other sights, but being 7 months pregnant we found the car services much quicker! I know that we will return to Savannah some day, and we will definitely keep this location in mind for a rental again.
This was one of the best VRBO vacations rentals we have had. The property is in the perfect location, within a few short blocks of Forsyth Park and Kroger/Starbucks, and a 15 minute drive to Tybee Island. The unit was meticulous and just the right size for two. We highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to walk Savannah historic district.
The place is, perhaps, ideal for a couple. Our stay was in late April - early May. The place is located in Savannah's East Victorian district, 25 min walk from the riverfront, 3 min walk from Forsythe park. There is a Kroger grocery store around the corner, as well as a coffee shop selling fresh bread and pastries on the same block. Street parking is plentiful during all hours. (be sure to read the signs and not park on the street cleaning side during certain nights indicated on the sign) The carriage house is renovated to a high standard, and thoughtfully furnished with good-quality items and linens. The bed is very comfortable; pillows and blankets for every taste are plentiful. The overall impression is a warm, livable, comfortable space, with none of the "high-traffic rental" vibe. We certainly appreciated how well-stocked the place is - the kitchen is well-organized and fully functional. There is a courtyard with tables, chairs, fireplace and gas grill. Beyond this, all one could possibly want in a vacation rental, including fiction books, brochures, maps, fast and glitch-free Wi-Fi and all sort of kitchen and cleaning supplies, were all provided. Although we were not the only guests on the property (there is the main house across the courtyard), the place was quiet at all times of day and night, and so was the neighborhood. The place met or exceeded our expectations in every dimension, and it is clear that the property manager keeps an eye on the upkeep. Great experience, overall.
Upon arrival I had to call Mary because of a little misunderstanding. She was very nice and helpful. The carriage house was very nice and clean. It was a very quiet and relaxing area. It was about a mile away from river street, spot was very convenient. Kroger was behind the carriage house so that was also convenient. Overall great stay...if we ever come back to Savannah we will definitely stay there!
The house was cozy and within walking distance to all attractions. We enjoyed the courtyard and outdoor fireplace. The kitchen had everything we needed, the living room was nice, and the bed was very comfortable. The only small drawback was that the wifi was extremely slow but we were out exploring the charming city most of the time anyway.
Owner Response
We exchanged the internet router in April 2017 and hope that slow wifi problem is solved. We have Comcast Xfinity high speed internet which they promise is the best available level of service.
We spent over two weeks in the Carriage House. It's small but very nicely appointed. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We love Savannah and logged lots of miles walking the historical district. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. The grocery store was around the corner. Faster internet would be nice.
Owner Response
We have exchanged the router for a new one and are confident the internet speed was improved by this upgrade
My wife and I, along with our son booked this location for 4 nights. We were supposed to stay in Gatlinburg prior to arriving but due to the fires we called to see if the unit would be available early an Mary made that work. This unit is very nice with a well stocked kitchen. We used the kitchen quite a bit as well as the Grill and fireplace located in the courtyard. We found it all to be well maintained and pretty comfortable. Our sons stay on the couch/hide-a-bed was not very comfortable but we anticipated that may be the case. The main bed was ok at best. Overall we were very happy with the location and the unit. The bed & couch could be upgraded.
Owner Response
We have gotten a new sofa bed mattress as of 2017. Sofa beds are never as comfortable as real beds but we do have a top of the line pullout sofa, with an upgraded sofa bed mattress. Thanks for your feedback!
We enjoyed our stay and would choose this cottage again. It was very clean and has been updated. There were steps up to the cottage, but we counted it as exercise! Loved the little coffee shop at the end of the block. There was some noise from the parking lot behind the cottage, but we were tired enough it didn't bother us.
I cannot express enough how thoroughly pleased we were with this unit and the owner of this unit. Not having went through this type of arrangement before for a rental, we are now SOLD on the idea. We had nothing but GOOD luck with this choice and it was a great hassle-free way to enjoy Savannah and visit the surrounding beaches. I was great having privacy and our own courtyard. Everything about it was to our liking. Being able to walk to Kroger and fix our own meals was great. We did eat out but we are picky and enjoyed being able to grill/cook our own meals too. The little Bistro/coffee shop on the corner and within a few steps from our unit was always something we looked forward to waking up to. Again. If I could have rated it 10 stars in the rating I would have. Cant wait to go back and will stay here again!
My husband and I stayed here 2 nights and it was a perfect experience. The apartment is in an amazing location and everything is so clean and tidy! We just got married and they even had a bottle of wine for us upon arrival. Highly recommend!!
First of all, I would like to say that Mary (owner) is a kind, considerate, and honorable person. When you’re working with people of high character and principles, things are going to be good, in our case, great. I could share so much, but I’ll be brief, we came in to Savannah the night after the hurricane hit. If you saw the news, you know how bad they got hit. From the moment we arrived, Mary took care of us. A big part of the City had no power, which meant very little was open. Grocery store, restaurants, etc.—CLOSED. Mary brought us food and made sure our accommodations were great. She even texted us pictures of places that were open so that we could get out and get food, etc. We felt very safe and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Mary was super helpful and made our stay, under extreme conditions, exceptional. If you’re looking for an excellent place (ours was suberb) where you will get above and beyond what is stated on the site, look no further than booking with Mary. The last thing I will mention is that Mary and kids evacuated the City (she returned just a few hours before us) and even though she no doubt had a lot on her mind, she was very responsive to our needs. She is a top notch professional and outstanding human being. We are extremely grateful for her care and concern.
We had an amazing weekend living like locals at the carriage house! The apartment was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for the two of us. It was a 15-minute walk to downtown, where we met friends for dinner at The Olde Pink House (which was also great). It was convenient being so close to Kroger and our evening walk around Forsyth Park was unforgettably lovely. The bed was comfortable and everything was in perfect working order. We grilled steaks in the courtyard and had a nice dinner in our second night. The local artwork is a nice touch, and the shelf area above the washer and dryer made for a perfect place to stow our things during our short stay - that was a favorite feature! The only downside was the close proximity to the garage that belongs to another unit. We spent a rainy Sunday afternoon inside the apartment and the noise from those tenants coming in and out of the garage was pretty constant. However, we were never disturbed at night or in the morning, and so it wasn't much of an issue. Honestly, I didn't want to leave, and I look forward to booking this unit again!
40th Birthday Vacation
This was for a short stay, but it was wonderful. Next vacation, we'll be staying longer. Having a Starbucks and grocery store within walking distance was a plus. We were able to cook and relax after long days of walking and trolley touring the city. The trolley picked us up a few blocks from the carriage house. I also liked that you could park on the street without any problems. It was a nice quiet neighborhood. Clean and well maintained. We cannot wait to go back!
We had a great time in Savannah The cottage was prefect conveniently located to a Kroger and a bakery. We were able to call the trolley company and they picked us up to go and take the tour.. The cab drivers were great they told us great places to go around town. We would highly recommend staying at this cottage very clean Thank you From a st Augustine visitor
We have stayed in many VRBO lodgings. This was one of the best for one couple! I actually would love to own this place. It is a very well planned space and professional remodel of an old carriage house. The owners were easy to communicate with. There is one flight of steps up but only adds to the feeling of privacy in this city location. The living/kitchen area is of ample size and the kitchen has all the equipment you need. And the king size bed was very comfortable. The gate at the street and the courtyard are charming and add to your feeling of security. There is a very nice coffee/pastry shop at the end of the block and a full size Kroger around the corner. Very convenient. You could actually walk (if you like long walks) to the heart of the historic district.. The air conditioning was efficient. We never had any trouble parking right in front of the house. Only downsides are that the WiFi is a little weak, I would have liked some ice in the freezer when we got there. The ice maker worked well once we turned it on, but we had no ice for drinks at check-in. We actually had to go back out and buy a bag of ice at Kroger. A sort of bummer after a long day and hauling our bags up the steps. And a box of Kleenex (such a small and easy thing) would have been greatly appreciated. I would definitely book again.
Once we figured out how to access the key to the front door (the lock box is a little difficult to open); and opened up the gate, we were OK. You walk down a narrow lane between two main houses. The carriage house is through a wooden gate on the left, then thru a small courtyard (which we didn't use) and right of the outside fireplace. These are a flight of stairs to climb; however, it wasn't too bad. Once inside the apartment was lovely. It was just the two of us so we had to plenty of room. The kitchen is updated with a microwave, oven/stove, refrigerator, coffee maker and a kitchen island if you wanted to use the counter as a eating space. A small table for two sat in the living room as additional eating space. Since we were on vacation we didn't do any cooking. However, Kroger's is a short walk away and we were able to get snacks and fruit to put in the refrigerator. Utensils and cookware was available for your use if needed; however, condiments, coffee and food needed to be bought. The bedroom was a nice size and the king size bed for a plus for us. The linens and bedding were of expensive quality and mattress was very comfortable. Had a good night's sleep for the three nights we spent there. In the entryway between the bathroom and bedroom was a good sized closed and washer and dryer. Didn't stay long enough to have to use either. The bathroom was clean. A few more hand towels could have been provided for our four-day three night stay, but we made due. Had no problem with the free wi-fi that was available and the satellite tv was a plus for my husband. Mary did advise us in her email to me about the street cleaning on Friday nights that were on done on the side of the street we parked on; however, we could not find any other parking nearby, so we took a chance and left our car parked where it was. Did get a ticket from the city, but it was worth it to us rather than having to park a few blocks away and walk back to the carriage house. The carriage house was only a five to ten minute drive from everywhere we wanted to go. It was a pleasant stay at this rental and would recommend it.
We loved staying at this location in Savannah. We decided not to rent a car and we found the Dot and easily got around town on this trolly. We also used Uber in the evenings after dark. Had dinner at the "Old Pink House" and really want to recommend this place for dinner. Also, just down the end of the block is a place called Mate Factor. It is a little yellow house and we had coffee and scones/cinnamon rolls etc. every morning. Loved this place and the atmosphere. Mary was helpful and answered our texts immediately!!! Can't say enough about this special find in Savannah.
Couple oversites that just aren't exactly clear when you book. From the Street where you park, it's a walk down that pictured walkway between buildings to the rear, then once in the rental you have a long flight of stairs up to the actual unit. We had some heavy stuff, so this made a diff to us, but probably not to most. I perhaps don't look super close at pictures, but had I have, I would have figured that out. The Main house is not where you are staying, that wasn't super clear to me, and the internet connection is very sketchy, all that aside, it is a lovely place, VERY clean, close to groceries and if you like to walk, like we do, it's perfect.
This unit was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed the convenience of the nearby Kroger grocery store. The Coffee shop on the corner was closed for Passover so we were unable to visit it. it is a short walk to Forsyth Park. We had no problems walking anywhere we wanted to go. It is only about a mile walk to the River Walk. The kitchen and living room and laundry and the comforts of home that you cannot get in a hotel. After full days exploring the historic district we loved returning to a little home away from home. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and will hopefully be returning in the future.
This was a great place to stay in Savannah! Clean and updated. We walked to Forsyth Park, ate and had coffee at Sentinent Bean and went around the corner to Local 11 Ten's Perch(rooftop lounge). The neighborhood was quaint and we wished that Mate' Factor Bakery had been open. (Closed for Passover) We drove to downtown Savannah (it would have been a bit of a walk) but didn't mind paying for parking in a garage. The DOT had a stop a block away but we never saw it. Great little place. Loved the cobblestone road. Wish we could have had one more day to explore the neighborhood around but will definately plan for that next time.
This one-bedroom apartment had everything necessary for a great stay. The location was great and everything was functional and well maintained. It is the nicest place I have stayed in in Savannah in the 22 times I have visited here for the annual historic house tours.
We really enjoyed our stay. The carriage house was very nice and clean. We liked the location. It was close to Kroger and a nice coffee shop. We parked and walked from there to everywhere we wanted to go. We found the bed to be uncomfortable but most other reviews felt it was awesome. So, maybe just not our taste. Great place!
The carriage apartment was beautiful, clean, well equipped, and private. Location fantastic especially if you are biking as The Price St. bike lane goes right up alongside. The only criticism we had was the wifi connection. Basically we could connect but were never able to load any site - should have remained unplugged but we used our own hotspot through AT&T. Have already recommended to friends and family.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It was convenient to everything. A Kroger grocery store and Dollar Tree were only a block away. We ate at a restaurant on River Street that was very good, but can't remember the name of it. Two other places we ate during our time in Savannah were not so good. One place we ate was Market Street Café - food was cold. Another place was a pub that the trolley driver said was very good - food was cold and not very good. I don't recommend either place. At least we had the facilities to cook our own food. Getting to River Street was easy where parking was $1 an hour until about 5 pm, I believe, then it was free. Parking on the weekend was impossible so we had to park in a parking garage. We did the ghost trolley ride and the day time trolley. The day time trolley picked us up not far from the apartment. I recommend these tours, especially the day time ride as you can get off and on rather than driving around yourself trying to see historic sites. We also just walked around the neighborhood where the apartment was looking at the homes. We also drove to Tybee Island and did the lighthouse tour which I recommend. Very interesting history. We also went to a couple of flea markets and antique shops. We met the woman who cleans the apartment and I told her she did an excellent job. This place was extremely clean and well maintained. The bed linens were outstanding and the bed was comfortable. The towels were also of outstanding quality. A lot of things were provided like extra paper towels and toilet paper, dish detergent as well as dishwasher detergent. Cleaning supplies were also available which allowed me to clean the kitchen. We only had to buy food. WIFI worked well and so did the cable TV. It was quiet and comfortable. We had no problems with parking near the apartment and made sure to pay attention to the street signs when parking two nights out of the week. This was so much better than staying in a hotel and didn't cost as much as a hotel room. This is the third place we have rented via homeaway.com and by far the best place of all. We would definitely rent this place again if we go back to Savannah. Whoever owns this place did an excellent job in making this a home away from home. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of staying in this wonderful apartment. I just can't say enough good things about our stay.
We loved our stay here! The accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. The bed was so comfy, and the linens were like top rated hotel quality. The location was within walking distance to just about everything. Loved it!
My family and I stayed here recently and we were very pleased. The place is very clean and comfortable. The king size bed and the pillows were the most comfortable I have been away from home ever. The place itself was clean and peaceful. I absolutely would stay here again.
My family stayed here this past week and loved it! The place was small, beautiful, and cozy. The bed was heavenly! I couldn't believe how close it is too the downtown Savannah & some of the other places. The owner was very helpful and thorough. We will definitely be back!!
The property was very well maintained - clean and very open. King sized bed in master was very comfy. The property is a 7 minute walk to the mansion on forsyth park and convienently close to a coffee/pastry shop, grocery store and liquor store. Mary was a huge help with everything once we got there - I would definitely recommend renting this place!
This rental is perfect in so many ways! We flew from Buffalo, NY to Charleston, SC and this was about a 2 hour drive from the airport. We were looking for a short getaway to distract ourselves from our awful winter and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay! The carriage house is located on a quiet street next to full-time residents and other rentals. We had no issues following the directions to retrieve the key and find the house. Although it was late May, the weather had started to warm quite a bit but the house was nice and cool. The house was perfectly clean and it really does look exactly like the pictures. The bedroom is a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. The wood shutters throughout the apartment make it easy to darken the rooms for privacy or relaxation. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of appliances, dishes and utensils. The closet space was ample for our short stay, and having a washer and dryer in the apartment was also the perfect touch of added convenience! There's also a large area on top of the washer/dryer where we were able to store our suitcases or do ironing. The apartment is walking distance to the local supermarket, Kroeger. There's also a tea shoppe at the corner of the street where you can have a light snack and a delicious cup of tea. It's also walking distance to Forsyth Park, although being from Buffalo, it was too hot to walk more than a few blocks due to the humidity. But don't let that stop you from renting this place - it is everything you need and very conveniently located! We had a rental car which was safely parked on the street for our stay. If you don't have a car though, that's ok, it's quick cab ride to the shopping and entertainment areas of Savannah! The only minor issues we noticed were 1) the dishwasher was very squeaky when it was opened/closed so you might disturb someone sleeping and 2) the sink had some fruit flies. This may have been fixed since our stay - but honestly, don't let it impact your decision to book this place. It is absolutely perfect and the rental manager / owner, Mary, is simply delightful to work with! Enjoy your stay!
This was our first time in Savannah. This happened to be a trial trip to see if we would like the area enough to spend extended time here. We are a middle aged couple from Wisconsin and plan on staying in Savannah for one or two months of the year. Or possibly purchasing a home or condo of our own. This place couldn't have sold Savannah better. The location was great! We did have a vehicle but walked almost everywhere. The corner coffee shop felt like home the minute we stepped in the door. There was a grocery store within a block for all of our needs. The unit features a washer and dryer and a fully stocked kitchen. Thank you Savannah!
The carriage house was perfect for our girls weekend! Everything seemed clean and up to date. Some would think the bed was a little hard but didn't bother me. It was very convenient to have a washer and dryer in the unit. Also, we really appreciated the early check in. The location was great, short walk to the grocery store; & we also used Uber. I would highly recommend this property.
My husband and I stayed in this carriage house for our 2nd wedding anniversary. We arrived on Friday and stayed until Sunday. The location was nice as it was right around the corner from a Family Dollar and Kroger's but is a bit far from downtown and all the hot spots so if you are looking to get in some exercise, walking around will do that for you. Only bad thing about Savannah is the on street parking and it can be very difficult to find a place to park. The carriage house suited our every need. Once you come up the stairs, you are in the living room which is shared with the kitchen. The couch was comfortable and I'm glad that we had a fully stocked kitchen to use. Mary has the kitchen stocked with everything from cooking spray and spices to mixing bowls and cutlery. The only thing we were not able to use was the dishwasher and I let her know that it didn't turn on for us despite pressing all the buttons. The king size bed was awesome! The mattress was very soft and comfortable and we both got a good nights sleep. Having a washer and dryer was awesome as well. The only thing that I had a problem with was the shower held as it is handheld and it can be difficult to lather shampoo and rinse while the water is being sprayed against the door or wall and not in the middle. Another issue we had was the TV channels; you didn't get much to choose from but we made do with what was available. Our time in Savannah was awesome and I can't wait to go back and visit. Mary had a folder available that recommended places to go and where to eat. We went to the Six Pence Pub for lunch and also the dueling piano bar for a fun Friday night. The most fun we had was when we went to see Savannah Live. Hands down the best live entertainment we had seen in a while. A big thank you to Mary for making our time in the carriage house as best as possible. She was great with directions on how to get the key and also reminded us about the street cleaning that would be happening. I can't wait to come back :)
Stayed at this property for a girl's trip! We loved it! The owner was very friendly and helpful with all questions. Beautiful property, very chic, clean, and cozy! Walking distance to everything in the historic district. Will definitely be looking to stay here again one day!
This one bedroom was better than advertised! Very clean, well stocked and close to everything. Modern and comfortable, it was a home away from home. Very quiet and private, and close to Forsyth Park and a grocery store. Ample street parking but make sure to read the street signs. I would highly recommend this place and I would definitely stay here again!
This one bedroom was perfect for 2 people. The bed was very comfortable and king size. This place had all the amenities needed. The kitchen was well stocked, very clean and modern. The location was good and convenient to Forsyth Park and Kroger Grocery Store around the corner. I would definitely recommend this place and I would stay here again. Make sure to read the signs on where to park on Hall street because we didn't Friday night and got a parking ticket! We saw other cars parked on the same side of road so we followed suit but the sweep on Wed and Friday nights so pay attention to signs! Other than that, everything was awesome and Mary was very responsive to our inquiries. Thanks!
This place was just perfect for us. Clean, great location, private, and you can't beat the price - less than a stay at most hotels in the area. We spent a week here and it really was a home away from home. The manager Mary was always a phone call or an email away but she also gave us our privacy which we greatly appreciated. Highly recommended.
The property was roomy, clean and well cared for. Location was excellent. The shower head would not aim straight downward without being held. That should be fixed. I was also a little surprised that things like coffee filters were not included on the things that were stocked. We bought some and left them there. Overall, we were very happy with the stay.
This one bedroom apartment was perfect for my small family to enjoy Savannah. It was very clean, had all the basic amenities we needed to be comfortable on our stay and the some! It's small, but WAY roomier than a hotel room. And you have a full kitchen. The apartment is over the garage so I felt like we had plenty of privacy from the main house and neighbors. It's right in the historic downtown area and are able to take advantage of the public transportation. Just a 5 minute walk to Forsyth park which was breathtaking. I love Savannah and is definitely stay here again.
We so enjoyed our stay in this location. It was cozy yet modern and was perfect for a couple or a girls weekend getaway! I highly recommend it! It is about a 15-20 minute walk to Riverwalk and you see such beautiful scenery on the way.
The unit was great for our short stay. Everything was clean and in order. Location was perfect!!! My wife and I brought along a USB device with some movies and there was no way to play them during our stay. I strongly recommend updating the bedroom TV (could not get a good view while laying in bed) and also consider adding DVD (bluray) players to each TV that can handle USB connections. Many folks these days travel with electronic devices that capture videos, music, photos that play via a USB connection.
Love this place..here until tomorrow but wishing my wife and I had more time to spend here...very close to everything and the new coffee house at the corner of the street is a great edition and makes it even better...the space is comfortable and private with little noise to contend with...this is our new home away from home while in Savannah.
We really enjoyed this carriage house. It was the perfect size and and had all the amenities we needed to truly make us feel at home. Having a kroger within walking distance was also very nice. We were able to cook breakfast in and stroll over for Starbucks. The only issue we has was that the carriage house was not clean upon our arrival even though we did confirm that we were coming just that day but Mary made up for it by recommending a fantastic restaurant and calling in complimentary drinks. The biscuits were to die for! We will definitely return here on our next visit to savannah!
Owner Response
So glad this stay ended up being perfect! My system that worked without a hitch for 2 years was that I simply emailed the housekeeper about new bookings but this time my email did not go through, which had never happened before. The housekeeper thought we had 2 vacant nights. However she rushed over when I called and had the place ready by the time the family finished at a nearby restaurant. Now I text or call the housekeeper to advise of new reservations as well as emailing her the schedule. So that lapse should not happen again for this very popular rental. The good thing is that if something ever goes wrong here the maid, the manager and the owner all live nearby and our guests get attention very quickly if they need it. I did get them drinks at the 17Hundred90 (after asking if they would like that) where they decided to have dinner and enjoy the cozy historic atmosphere.
We loved this carriage house. The apartment had everything we needed and was perfect for our short two day visit. It is just a ten or fifteen minute walk to the heart of the historic sights. The Kroger grocery store is a half a block away. We were especially happy to be able to park our car on the street (no problem finding a space). The courtyard was a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine after our day's adventures.
The location was great. The Kroger is very short walk from the back door. The rooms were clean and spacious. Coming home to this apartment after a long day of site seeking and the beach, 20 minutes to Tybee, was a perfect end to a exciting day. Rent this place it's wonderful.
More roomy than a hotel room, this is a great alternative. It's located in a quiet, residential neighborhood and is an easy walk to Forsyth Park, several restaurants and a grocery store. We really enjoyed our stay, and Mary has thoughtfully provided a binder with a map and restaurant suggestions.
We enjoyed our stay in this most comfortable carriage house. It was clean, well appointed...just everything we needed for a wonderful couple of days. We loved the garden for cocktails before dinner. Highly recommended.
Booked on day of arrival. Ann was so easy to work with and so responsive. The apartment is adorable, quiet, clean, and well located. Easy walking to all local sites. Free bus is down the street. There was even a savers tag for the supermarket around the corner. Everything one needs is here. Savannah is beautiful. This apartment just enhances the Savannah experience.
Owner Response
My role is to get you booked into this fabulous place, whether it's a year in advance or the day you will arrive and then you can rename me if you want. My name is actually Mary (not Ann) to prevent confusion for anyone reading this in case you are about to call me. As long as you are having a great stay I'll be happy.
The apartment was just lovely. Very clean, immaculately presented with everything you could need for a stay. Besides the flight of stairs to the living area which we blocked off, the apartment is child friendly. The apartment is a 5 min to forsyth park and a 20min walk to river street. Check in and check out was easy. Would highly recommend this place to anybody.
We rented this adorable carriage house for our daughter's and son-in-law's stay in Savannah following their wedding at the Roundhouse Railroad Museum. High quality furniture and luxury bedding made this comfortably elegant. Everything needed was provided - from a well-stocked kitchen to plush towels and nice linens. The house was extremely clean. The outside courtyard is equally inviting. Mary, the owner, saved the day by giving us early access for the bride to get ready on her special day. She is hospitality personified! Thank you!
This location was a nice place to stay, very clean and well kept. Everything was just the way it was listed but however only one main concern was this location is behind another building so you would have to go through some gates to get to the door to the property. There are a flight of stairs so anyone who is disabled shouldn't stay here because it would be hard to go up and down the stairs. Otherwise everything was nice and close by. River street is a little far so we enjoyed a pedicab there which they come pick you up right at your steps!
SAV is my favorite city, hands down. And Mary made this stay my favorite. We drove through the snow storm to ensure we could make it at all and arrived 10 hours early. Mary allowed us to check in and rest easy after a 13 hour trek. The carriage house was exactly as described and more; well appointed, comfortable and in the best possible location to Forsyth and Historic Downtown. Parking was not an issue on Hall street and Kroger market was less than a block from the house. Overall, I highly recommend this property and anything Mary manages. Lastly, if you haven't visited SAV, what are you waiting for? It will change you forever.
Great location! On street parking was fine and Mary, the agent, was great to work with. The apartment was bright, with a good bed and bath. The kitchen was well equipped. We did have an issue with the cleaning when we arrived-the microwave hadn't been cleaned and the towels were not completely dried. The other two negatives were the lack of an eating table-if you cooked in, you ate at the breakfast bar overlooking the dishes, and the lack of a dresser. The only drawers were in the nightstands-1 each. If you have much stuff, you're living out of a suitcase. The owner was gracious about letting us store our bikes in the garage. There was an issue with the washer but it was addressed promptly.
My husband and I stayed at the carriage house and it was perfect for us. Everything was as described on the website. Beautifully decorated, and the bed was so comfortable. Only 3 blocks to Forsyth Park, so we would walk there and then head to the riverfront. Conveniently located grocery store too. A very friendly, beautiful, licensed cat, Scarlett, in the alley. And as a cat lover that was great. All you need are your clothes, can buy eveything else at grocery store. Will definitely stay here again.
The home was exactly as advertised and we found it to be the perfect place to stay in Savannah! It was walking distance from everything. It was clean, modern, and a great alternative to a hotel! We loved having kitchen space for breakfast and a washer-dryer for laundry. Thanks, Mary!
Myself and 3 other friends stayed here for the Rock 'n' Roll Savannah Marathon series. The property looks like it does in the pictures; it wasn't hard to find and parking was available. It is within walking distance to Kroger and some other really good eateries, i.e. Green Truck Pub and J. Christopher's (the blueberry crunchcakes were awesome!!!) It is also within walking distance to Forsyth Park, which is where the race ended, making the walk back bearable! lol Mary was very helpful in providing the necesary information and I enjoyed my stay overall. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to others as well.
Very clean, well maintained property. Looks exactly as it appears in the photos. Very quiet. Within very easy walking distance of Forsythe Park. Reasonably priced. Perfect location for seeing all of the Savannah sights. Spent a day on Tybee Island. Loved ocean kayaking near the North Beach. This was our first time using VRBO. Mary was very helpful with any questions we had
This property is EXCELLENT in many ways! First the decor is fantastic. Even though it's one bedroom, it is very spacious. Me and hubby wanted a quiet weekend away from "traffic"...and this was it! We went to Tybee for a day at the beach. Went to River Street for a day. Just had a fantastic trip. We loved that we had a condo to come and relax in--with FREE parking!! There's a Kroger almost next door-walk to it! There was a delish Italian that we walked to, Le..something. It's in her book of recommendations. So, if you want a wonderful weekend in Savannah here's our suggestions -Tour the Musuem of the Mighty Eighth -Tybee Island and eat at Sundae's Cafe (reservations for dinner) -River Street-eat at the River House, Dubs, or our fav Spanky's and don't forget your candy from Savannah Candy -Take a hurst ghost Tour-we had Ron he was great! oooh and picked us up and dropped us at HOME Explore Savannah--there's so much to do and see. Tybee...just..ahhh We will call again. Perfect location and awesome Mary is awesome to deal with. Only one suggestion---put blankets in the condo for those who are cold!! Need one for bed and one for sofabed!! Other than that...PERFECT!
This is a little gem in Savannah. What a beautiful carriage house with all the modern amenities. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay with a more perfect location. The kitchen had everything we needed including coffemaker and toaster and was spacious enough for the three of us. We were within walking distance of many things, so we didn't have to drive, plus the sightseeing tour bus had a stop around the corner, so when we purchased the tour package, it was convenient to get picked up nearby. We never had an issue with parking, just make sure you look at the signs that are posted. Also, Mary was so helpful and answered all my questions and concerns very quickly. We had an awesome time in this historic town, felt comfortable in the carriage house and will definitely be contacting Mary for housing when we come back! Thanks Mary!!!
Our stay in Savannah was elevated with our reservation on Hall St. Beautifully decorated & exceptionally quiet. With Kroger only a block away & city market a 20 minute walk, there's no need for a vehicle. The owners were accessible & responsive. Should we visit this beautiful city again, we will be staying here.
