Charming and spacious
We had a really nice stay. Beautiful old home with gorgeous high ceilings and lots of charm. Plenary of space and the two living rooms provided nice spaces to relax after long days of enjoying Savannah. Great walking neighborhood and parking was super easy. I would say that this rental comfortably sleeps 4 adults. Would definitely stay again!
10/10
This was by far the best home away from home I could have asked for. Historic building, beautiful location, and equipped with everything a traveler would need.Easy walking distance to everything downtown.Shops and restaurants, and a short drive to everything else. Easy 10/10 stay here again and recommend it to anyone on the fence!!!
Great location
Really enjoyable stay. Loved the decor and location.
Fantastic, Convenient, Perfect location
Girls week away. What a fantastic stay in Savnnah at Mary's Jones St house. This was the first time in Savannah for all of us. We were from PA, DE, MD, DT and VA. Accomodations were wonderful. Three bathrooms for five ladies was great. The master's shower was incredible. The house had everything you could think of, even umbrellas, which we didn't need. Everything was in walking distance or we could take the 'free' bus. Even the market was in short driving distance. A breakfast cafe was just a short walk away. The kitchen had everything. There's even a patio. It was just too hot for us to enjoy. This was our first time using a house rental, but it won't be the last.
PERFECT!
Everything was perfect with our stay! It was about a 1/2 mile walk to River Street and everything else. We enjoyed Clary's for breakfast and our favorite bar was Cotton Exchange on River Street. We tried Crystal Beer Parlor on West Jones Street and it was awesome. We will be back to stay. Our place was very clean and we also enjoyed the back porch in the evening. Parking was not a problem - we had four motorcycles. Thanks Mary
Loved getting to know old Savannah better by staying in this authentic historic townhome. Gorgeous details plus beautiful modern kitchen and great bathrooms! We loved it. Got to walk all over town and return to comfortable, clean and really quiet place to relax after sightseeing. Highly recommend!
Owner Response
Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay. We certainly loved living in that house and fully expect our guests to love staying there but getting a good review is always the best confirmation!
Stayed at this great place for 3 nights! It was really nice...... It gave you the historic feeling of Savannah! The location is perfect.... We never got in the car once... Walk, walk, walk, isn't that what makes Savannah so cool? The owners were wonderful, they had just had a new baby (a day or two earlier) and still accommodated our last minute request. Their home was very clean, nice furnishings, great kitchen, amazing washer and dryer, and did I mention the bathtub? A big soaking tub, heavenly! We recommend this rental to all ! Stay there and enjoy Savannah!
Owner Response
Thanks so much! I am so glad you enjoyed the house and only regret we didn't have our "upstairs notebook" over there yet when you were here. I know you still found your way to some of our favorite restaurants though :) Please come back any time.
Our first trip to Savannah was a wonderful experience thanks in great part to the wonderful accommodations. The townhouse was everything it was advertised to be ... spacious, clean, comfortable and not lacking in any amenities. The 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed our evenings sitting on the outdoor covered deck recapping our day. Our trip was a St. Patrick's Day event and having a "home away from home" so close to the parade was such a bonus (being able to run back to house to use the bathroom was awesome)!!! Can't wait to return and will definitely be contacting Mary for accommodations!
This was our second trip to Savannah, but my in-laws first. We could not have found a better place! I will say, the photos do not depict how large the rooms are. The master bath is amazing! All amenities were there & everything was very clean. The parking on the side street was convenient & hardly used. We did get a parking ticket for failing to see the signs indicating when they sweep the streets, so be aware of those if you park in front of the home. Other than that, we greatly enjoyed our stay. Clary's Cafe was close & very good. We were a bit leery of trying Zunzi's, but it was great! Try the Conquistedor there. Be sure to try the beignets at Hueys on River St as well. Bring comfy shoes & walk to everything from here.
Owner Response
Zunzi's "Conquistador" was actually just on television in 2012 in a contest for best sandwich in the USA and came in 2nd place out of I think 50 sandwiches! The street cleaning happens overnight on one side of Jones on Friday and the other side on Saturday. If you forget to move a vehicle for it the ticket is $12. The rest of the week there is no street cleaning and no need to move your car.
Stayed in this home for 4 nights in early June with 3 best friends from college for our 40th birthdays. Great location: close enough to walk all over historic district, but, not so close to the main drags to be loud or busy. Well appointed main level with dining, living rooms and kitchen well stocked. We really enjoyed the outdoor space of the back deck for drinks and snacks, or coffee in the morning. The bedrooms and bathrooms were VERY spacious, especially considering 4 women primping at the same time. The queen bed was very comfy. Only tiny complaint is king bed was rudimentary and hard. Mary was very helpful when we needed assistance. Savannah is a jewel! So glad we got the chance to spend time there.
Owner Response
We are so glad this guest enjoyed the location and the amenities at the house. The spacious bathrooms are one of the best parts of this home. It's surprising to hear of a guest who didn't love the mattress in the King bedroom because we have had lots of positive commentary on it in the guest book in the house. This is the first negative comment so far. We actually have the exact same mattress brand/model and we love it so we certainly are not trying to put anything subpar in this rental. The mattress is a Tempurpedic-type one which some people consider soft but based on this review it also seems hard to others.
This was my first experience with Savannah so I don't have much to compare it to. However, I have no desire to find other means of living. Mary's upstairs rental apartment was absolutely amazing. The house allows you to fully experience Savannah in the truest sense as you're among other full time residents located on the most beautiful street in the country. The home is beautifully decorated and intimate yet spacious at the same time. We were able to walk to all of the sights and attractions Savannah had to offer. We were also provided the luxury of driving if we needed and having free, convenient parking to come back to. I would recommend this VRBO for anyone at any time!! Thank you Mary for making my first stay in Savannah wonderful.
This property was accurately reflected in the VRBO listing. Photos were exactly as we found the property. The location was within walking distance of all of our needs. The property was clean and well maintained; it did appear that perhaps there might be some work still in process. The condo included all of the necessities; I would encourage inclusion of paper towels and napkins however. The owner was extremely pleasant and very helpful in providing information about the historic district and with recommendations on activities, eating establishments and transportation needs. The property was within walking distance of Forsythe Park where there was a Jazz festival the week-end we were there. Our short visit was so very enjoyable. Thank you Mary for use of your property and we do hope to visit Savannah again for a longer period of time.
Owner Response
Thanks for the great review! Jazz Festival is a great time to be in Savannah. We will do our best to add paper napkins and/or paper towels to the supplied items list. Toilet paper, hand soap and dish soap are consistently provided. The work still in process must mean landscaping in the back. We made the majority of our backyard a hardscape with beautiful pavers but we do have some empty pots out there where eventually we plan to have citrus trees. I don't think anything else appears unfinished in this house but let me know if I'm forgetting something!
Although we only stayed for one night, I loved this townhouse and wished we stayed longer! Beautiful house, comfortable beds. We arrived while the housekeeper was still cleaning, but we wanted to go exploring, so we made a quick retreat. Mary called me when the cleaning was done - totally unnecessary, but very thoughtful!
Owner Response
Thanks for the great review! In this case, as we often do, we allowed the guests to access the house prior to the 3pm check-in time. The housekeeper always finishes by 3 but we try to accommodate requests to drop off luggage early, or check in early altogether if the house is ready, whenever we can.
A perfect few days in Savannah. This condo is in a great location close to all the major attractions. It was a girl's get away weekend and we all felt very safe. We especially loved the back porch with the fans and comfy seating. We ate breakfast here and enjoyed wine in the afternoons. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Parking was never an issue. Just be careful to read all the signs, as we got a ticket for parking on the side of the street where they sweep once a week at a specific time. This is a nice townhome with an upscale feel. Thanks for sharing....
Our family made a late decision to stay here for Thanksgiving. Mary was most responsive throughout the booking process. Everything was in pristine shape upon our arrival, exactly as pictured, only better. Getting around by car was easy because the property is located near major thoroughfares; yet a post-Thanksgiving dinner stroll through the squares was literally two blocks away. We've rented another unit in Savannah, but it wasn't as quiet as this property was. Our 8 and 12 year old children had room to spread out--we had the luxury of being able to be together when we wanted to be and the luxury of finding private space as well. Much to my surprise, paper products were supplied, which was above and beyond. The laundry area was quite up-to-date. The galley kitchen was easy to use and well stocked. Our daughter especially loved the big tub in the master bathroom! And imagine our delight at finding a memory-foam mattress so like our Tempurpedic at home. The mix of the well-furnished kitchen and bathrooms juxtaposed with the character of the structure was harmonious and most pleasant. We look forward to returning.
Owner Response
I am glad you were pleasantly surprised by the "paper products". I have always put plenty of toilet paper for guests (obviously) but have recently decided to try to leave paper towels or napkins or both in this rental. Partly because one guest politely suggested it in her review :) When I started out offering this home on VRBO I based a lot of my methods on my own experiences as a guest in beach rentals. And paper products are not standard at all. But our hospitality in Savannah is a little more specific to the type of stay that we see in this house which is often a mini-vacation or "weekend getaway". We have so many guests stay for only 1, 2 or 3 nights and in those cases, if it were me, I would not want to go get a bunch of supplies from the store as I would in a week-long beach rental. Of course week-long rentals are also welcome and we love to accommodate those too! Thanks for the beautifully written review, you should be a travel writer :)
I have always loved Savanna for its history, charm, and local flavor. As such, I decided that this was where I wanted to celebrate my birthday this year. With a group of 5 travelers, hailing from both Atlanta and West Palm Beach, FL, however, I was faced with a dilemna: how to acommodate 5 guests in a hotel! That's when I discovered VBRO, and the property on Jones St. Immediatley upon emailing the owner, Mary, we began a delightful correspondence. She was so friendly and helpful throughout the entire process from payment to researching great activities and restaurants for us during our stay. The townhome itself is a gorgeously renovated historic home, complete with superb ammenities and that classic Savannah touch. Overall this was a stellar experience for both myself and my guests, and I had one the greatest birthdays I've enjoyed in years. I hightly recommend both Mary and her beautiful home to anyone looking for a fantastic Savannah getaway!
Owner Response
Thanks for choosing our house!
The four of us loved our stay in the townhouse on Jones St. The mix of old and new was just right, and the master bedroom bathroom was to die for. Just loved the tub Mary, made me feel like I was at a spa.We really enjoyed the back deck and spent every day out there for happy hour. The house was nice and large and we all felt there was lots of room for all of us. Jones St is one of the most beautiful streets in the historic district and we liked the idea that we were far enough away from the noise of River and Bay St. but close enough that we could walk everywhere. Be sure to visits Mrs. Wilkes restaurant on Jones St which is just a couple of short blocks from our townhouse. A great place for lunch. Be prepared to wait in line a little bit but well worth it. All in all had a great time and would stay at Mary's town house again.
Owner Response
So glad! I hope you make this house your top choice for return visits!
We came here for a girl's getaway and had the best time at this beautiful home! I previously rented the downstairs apartment from Mary so I knew the place would be wonderful and the renting process very easy. Mary is always extremely helpful and even called to see if we got settled in okay. I can't say enough about how beautiful this home is. The home has all of the modern amenities with the charm of Historic Savannah. The kitchen has everything you could need and I can't say enough about the lovely master bathroom! The convenience of 2.5 bathrooms was wonderful when 3 ladies were trying to get ready :-) The location is so peaceful and very convenient to everything. We walked to Clary's every morning for breakfast then headed out for a new adventure each day. The Kroger is very convenient to stock the fridge while you're there. Even though parking is on the street, we never had any issues finding parking right in front. If you have knee problems, I will comment on the steps. There are quite a bit of steps leading up to the front door then the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor so you will go up and down steps inside. I personally loved it because I felt like I was getting a little workout after eating all of the good food Savannah has to offer! If for some reason steps are a problem, I would recommend renting the downstairs apartment. It's lovely too! (On a side note... if you walk to River Street, you can take the elevator at the Hyatt instead of using the crazy stairs to get down there) With all that being said, this is the only place I want to stay when I visit Savannah. I love the house and the location and Mary is wonderful to rent from! You can't go wrong with this charming home!
Owner Response
This is a really helpful review from one of very few guests who has stayed in both the garden level apartment and the main house which are separate VRBO listings and separate units altogether but at the same address. I get a lot of emails from potential guests who have questions about that. This is a very common & traditional townhouse setup in the Historic District. Many of the larger homes have a garden level (street level in this case, although occasionally you find a half-basement step down entrance) apartment that was once the kitchen or housekeeper's quarters for the main family home which starts at floor 2. I hope that helps future guests picture the layout of the 3-story townhouse. -Mary
My husband & I stayed here last week, with his parents, for 3 nights. The house is very cozy, inviting & well appointed. The shower in the Master bedroom is wonderful, with 2 shower heads! My husband took at least 2 showers/day! The kitchen has just about anything you need. Mary was great to work with, very quick to reply to any questions/concerns I had.
My friends and I went down to Savannah for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The location of the townhouse is perfect! We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go and the drive to Tybee Island wasn't too bad either! We will definitely try to stay here again on our next visit to Savannah!
Owner Response
So glad you enjoyed it!
Savannah is a beautiful city with tons of history. We were lucky enough to be right in the middle of it, close enough to walk to River St, Forsythe Park, and even a ghost tour Saturday night. The house was cozy and yet spacious enough for the four of us. I made a point of using that bathtub before we left! Definitely a return trip in our future!
We had an enjoyable stay in this beautiful 2 bedrooms/2.5 bathrooms house. Perfectly located in Savannah with easy parking. Walking distance from everything. Very pleasant and helpful owner. You will not be disappointed.
We spent two nights in this nice 2 bedroom town home. Everything was as we expected, clean comfortable and beautiful kitchen. We only wish we had had more time to enjoy the Savannah area. Hopefully we'll get to come back. The master tub is worth the stay alone! :-)
This home served as the ideal getaway for us, two couples visiting Savannah for the third time. The historic home is situated on the prettiest street in town right in the middle of the gorgeous historic district. The home was beautiful, very well appointed, and super comfortable. Each bedroom has its own private en-suite full bathroom allowing each couple great privacy. Parking was very easy right out front of the house, and the house was in walking distance to great restaurants and tourist sites (took us less than 15 mins to walk to the river!). Would easily recommend to anyone.
My husband, my parents and I recently stayed at this historic but nicely renovated townhouse. It's in a beautiful setting in the heart of Savannah's historic district and an easy and attractive walk to most attractions. The furnished back deck in earshot of a pleasant water feature was a great bonus for our group. The home's layout was ideal for a 2 BR group as well. Finally, the property manager (mary) was highly responsive and great to work with. We definitely would stay here again.
We spent four days over Christmas with another couple. It was the perfect getaway. Great quiet location. Close to everything. We loved the back deck for relaxing. Beds were great. Our highest recommendation for anyone looking for the perfect vacation in Savannah.
My friends and I rented this house for a girl’s trip the weekend of St. Patrick's Day. When we arrived, we were amazed at what a gem we had booked for the holiday weekend! This place was gorgeously decorated; clean, spacious and stocked with everything we could imagine needing! Throughout the weekend we continued to be amazed at the fact that the owner had thought of everything for us! The back patio is wonderful, the kitchen was beautiful and the master bathroom was the best! It was an easy walk to any Savannah restaurant, bar, attraction or to the river. We were only 3 blocks away from the parade and had a front row seat! We were so glad we chose this property over a hotel and couldn't believe all of the perks we got for our money! I can't wait to stay in Savannah again and am already recommending this property to friends!
Owner Response
It's very important to me that anyone who paid an extra premium is still happy with the house. I know our normal rate is a great value but a St P stay is expensive. Thanks so much for your feedback and I am super happy you were satisfied. -Mary
We absolutely loved this house. It was perfect for our needs. Spacious, beautifully renovated, perfectly appointed, and a fabulous location. The house is just as gorgeous in reality as it looks in the pictures in the listing, and it has a ridiculously easy arrival-departure procedure. We had rented a car, but we walked almost everywhere. CVS and Kroger only a few blocks away, and all the historical stuff is within walking distance as well, which is critical since it's tough to park on the riverfront. On-street parking for this house was never a problem, beds were comfortable, kitchen was fabulous. Washer and dryer are new, quiet, and work really well. We had our eight-year old daughter with us and she loved the queen suite, she slept like a log every night, even in an unfamiliar house, i.e., it was quiet and comfortable enough for her. One afternoon during our trip it rained and rained and rained, we stayed home from 3pm on and just enjoyed relaxing in the house, it's that nice. Honestly you can't go wrong with this rental!
We had a great time with our grown kids and their little baby here. It was a nice quiet location with E-Z Access to City Market, the river walk area and many great eateries. We cooked in too and the local Kroger grocery store is just a few blocks away. Wi-Fi worked great but TV channels were pretty basic. On Street parking was not any problem. The Pink House for Dinner was amazing. Would not recommend Paula Dean's place or Belford's. Take a carriage ride tour of old town area. We were all very pleased and would definitely go back again. If stairs are a problem, you may not want to stay here. But that's the only negative I could find that anyone could have. Didn't bother us though. BTW - the master suite is pretty darn cool!
My friend and I spent 3 wonderful days in this beautiful house. It was tastefully furnished with lovely historical details. The master bath was wonderful, very spacious with a huge stand-alone tub. Nice amenities in the bathroom. Fully furnished kitchen, with everything you could need. Fabulous AC (essential with the humidity), plus soothing fans in every room. There was also a back patio where we had coffee one morning. The location was central, and we were able to walk to most of the squares easily--going west on Jones, you saw the prettiest homes and gardens. The owner also provided helpful information regarding restaurants. We ate at the Old Pink House one night for dinner (superb), C. Matthews for lunch and Gryphon (run by SCAD students) for dinner on Saturday. Sweet Water Spa was an amazing place! So many fun things to do. Would highly recommend this home.
Great location, walking distance to everything fun but far enough from the commotion of the night life to enjoy quiet evenings after spending time on River Street and at the Market! Can't say enough good things about this lovely home, cozy and comfy from the minute we stepped in. We were visiting for a family wedding at Forsyth Park; would definitely stay again! Arrangements were so easy, I had the stress free vacation I was hoping for!
This house was a perfect home for our family visit to Savannah. The house was very well appointed, and we wanted for nothing. We rarely moved our car, as the weather was incredible and so much of the city is within easy walking distance. Forsyth Park and River Street were only about 15 mins away in either direction on foot. The beds were very comfortable, the living room perfect for watching tv and movies, and the back deck great for enjoying morning coffee and an evening beer. This house is now on list of favorite vacation destinations, and we can't wait to come back next year!
We rented this lovely home for a long weekend in late October. The house was easy to find and ended up suiting our group perfectly. The kitchen/dining/living area is all wide open, which really made the house feel big and inviting. Loved sitting on the back porch with cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening. The house is a few blocks away from the very touristy areas, which we enjoyed while still being within walking distance to all the activities we took part in during our visit. The owners were very attentive and made the whole process perfectly seamless. I would absolutely rent this house again if the occasion presented itself!
On the whole a nice experience and I would recommend this rental. The outside of the building could use some paint, but inside everything is clean and very spacious. Mary was very professional and prompt in her communication. Mary also helped with restaurant recommendations. Modern and complete kitchen, large dining room table and great wireless. I stayed in the Master bedroom on the second floor. Great bathroom. The bed was good, but no reading light directly over the bed and the lighting at max was not as bright as I would have liked. There was traffic noise, but you have to understand I live in a rural area and may notice it more than most. All in all a good spot. Away from the touristy hustle and bustle of Bay Street but easily reachable. Nice place.
My dad and I stayed here for three nights in February, and the location couldn't be more perfect! Parking was very easy to find right outside the house. However, we rarely used the car because everything is within walking distance, and that's the best way to see Savannah. There are restaurants and a grocery store close by, and the area is nice and quiet. The touristy areas are close by though. The home itself is very spacious with a beautiful back porch. The owners were so great, and if we ever come back I am definitely renting this place again!
In November, we stayed in the garden apartment of this historic home. We absolutely loved it so we decided to come back with our kids & parents to stay in the main house. We loved it. The house was clean & very comfortable. It has all the modern touches in the kitchen & bathrooms but does not lack the charm of the older home (amazing wood floors, large windows, beautiful staircase, fireplaces). We love being able to park our car right outside the house (for free!) & walk all over the city. Last, but not least, Mary is really easy to work with. She is so helpful & accommodating. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Savannah. P.S. our children were so excited to stay in a home that is over 140 years!
Step into old Savannah in an updated home on the city's most beautiful street. Spacious home with updated amenities including a master bath spa! Conveniently located to the historic district. Very clean. There are a significant number of stairs up to the front door and then again to the bedrooms so pack light! Definitely would recommend.
The town home was in great shape and was very comfortable and a wonderful place to call our home during our stay in Savannah. The deck off the kitchen was a real plus and we spent most of our spare time out there. The house is about as far south and east as I would want to stay in Savannah, but we like to walk and could get to the places we wanted to go to within a reasonable period of time.
We had a lovely stay at this Jones Street home. Check in was easy and had no problems. The home was very comfortable and furnishing well placed. We had a lovely time walking to Clancy's for breakfast. The Owners were very nice to offer free appetizer coupons to a very lovely restaurant. The outside patio was great and comfortable for coffee in the morning. There were a couple of items that need to be taken care of ie, pillows and the faucet in downstairs bath was loose. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend and would consider coming back.
This townhouse has all that you need. The owner has decorated it beautifully and it's very comfortable. The outside of the townhouse could use a little attention (paint). I loved the quiet neighborhood and it is close to EVERYTHING! I would definitely recommend this property and I will be back!

As of Dec 2015 now have repainted the front trim, door & steps for the 3rd time since launching this as a VRBO. The expectations of upkeep for a vacation rental home are extremely high in comparison to how one would maintain one's residence. People truly seem to expect perfection. Keep in mind this home was built in 1875 and everything is original except the kitchen/bathrooms. The city preservation ordinances require that all exterior solid wood details/windows remain wooden. We certainly do our best to work against the natural elements wear and tear so we can meet the expectations of our guests, within reason.
My husband and I was visiting savannah for our honeymoon. We could have not picked a better place to stay. It had all the luxuries of home and then some. We enjoyed beautiful savannah and close enough to visit tybee beach. We can't wait to come back and will definitely be staying here again.
We stayed at this townhouse with another couple and found it to be in a great location. The house had a lot of charm (and a lot of stairs) It was very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the bathrooms very nicely done, beds extremely comfortable. I was a little concerned about the parking on the street but it was never a problem. We were within walking distance of a lot of the places we wanted to visit. We didn't get to use the deck off the kitchen because it was so hot when we were there but it looked to be very nice. I would definitely stay there again.
We enjoyed 4 nights here. The location is good, in the historic district, on a lovely street. There was plenty of room for us....one couple and one adult. Having 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms made everyone comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and everything v clean. the back balcony would be better used when the weather is cooler, but it has a fan and good seating. It took us a while to work out which switches worked which lights in the house, and the DVD player in the lounge room wasn't working (but there was one in the tv in main bedroom that worked). Taps in downstairs bathroom were loose but operable. All in all, we had a good stay here.
The house was quite pleasant and great to have Clarey's for breakfast so near.. The master bedroom was excellent, comfortable bed and lovely bathroom, even for two women to share. The second bedroom and bath are really only suitable for kids, very small shower...The bed in this second bedroom was very old and the feeling of the springs made sleeping almost impossible the first night. We solved the problem by putting several layers of blankets to cushion it which made sleep better the second and third nights. I wrote a note to the property manager immediately, that first morning we ran into the housekeeper who said the owners planned to replace the bed. My suggestion to potential renters planning to have another couple or parents in the second bedroom...confirm the mattress has been replaced...if it's kids who will occupy it...no problem. We so enjoyed Savannah, continued onto Hilton Head and Charleston, also great adventures.

This guest was the first and only person ever to raise a concern about the comfort of the Queen bed, in over 3 years of great reviews. We ordered a new King bed the same day this woman complained because we do listen to our guests and we like to upgrade the house. The queen was a traditional spring mattress and was not very old, but for 2 large women I can imagine it was not as pleasant as a King. We have noticed that while there is not one type of mattress that pleases all people/tastes, the memory foam type seems to make more people happy most of the time. And everyone prefers King size. It is hard for us to do upgrades during the busy seasons, but we did this one. We got the new memory foam King bed into the house Oct 27th.
Really good location for getting around the historic district. This property was clean, well appointed, not all cluttered up and was a reasonably decent value. Would I stay here again--You betcha. We were out and about almost our entire stay and the property fit the bill for us. Bedrooms are good sized, comfortable and everything (appliances, hot water, Frig, TV's, Wireless Internet etc.) worked. Parking is on the street and was at times a bit of a challenge, but we managed just fine.
Cleanliness is so important to me, this house really exceeded my expectations. The beds were extremely comfortable and bathrooms were both nice. We were also very pleased with the location, it felt relaxed and quiet but was very close to the city center. We did drive to the River one day but we could not find a parking spot there so we took the car back here to Jones Street where parking is easier (and free) and we just walked back to the River which only took 15 minutes and was very pleasant.
We had a wonderful stay at this townhouse for the Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon. We had two couples and one single and it fit us perfectly. The townhouse is just as it appears in the pictures - clean and nicely decorated. The porch out back was a great place to relax! Had a very nice welcome basket for us with a personal note wishing us well in the race. (A very nice touch). Easy walking distance to some great restaurants and not too much of a walk from the riverfront area. Also very short walk home AFTER the race, which in the humidity was a very welcome relief! Would definitely recommend to friends and family and would stay here again if ever returning to Savannah!
Beautiful space and great layout for our party of six. Location was wonderful, too. Savannah is a walking city, and we did just that. Would definitely stay here again. While a little bit of a walk, I would highly recommend heading up to Bay Street and eating breakfast/brunch at B Matthews Eatery.
Property is on jones street which is known as the most beautiful street in America! The house itself is beautiful and very clean. Comes with all the necessities for a short vacation. Great back porch for relaxing. Went with a group of girls for a bachelorette party and could not have picked a better spot! All girls were extremely impressed with the house. Would definitely come back again
This property on Jones Street is in the older area of Savannah but it has been updated to the point it is most comfortable. It has a nice dining room, comfortable living room with a leather couch, two comfortable easy chairs and a HD TV. The kitchen has been modernized with up to date appliances. We enjoyed sitting on the deck on one sunny day while we visited and enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine. The two bedrooms were large and both had king beds with individual bathrooms-- really a plus for the three of us. Mary is always available to help. I left my coat outside as I was locking up to leave and Mary graciously made arrangement to have it returned to me. Thanks so much for a very nice stay in Savannah Mary!
Spent a weekend in Savannah with 3 friends and thought I would look into an alternative for the hotel I typically use. Stayed here and was just hoping it would be as nice as the other reviews and description/photos said it would be. I don't like staying over towards the river or market area and thought (hoped) this was just ideally located. Could not have been happier with the property. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped, the two bedrooms upstairs had lovely linens, unbelievably comfortable beds and bathrooms, and having a central living room and back porch where we could all gather could not have been better. The whole house was so nicely appointed, could not have thought of one thing I could recommend be added or changed. Will definitely return when Savannah calls again--which it does frequently.
My wife and I stayed at this beautiful house with her sister and brother-in-law, and it was the perfect fit for us. The two king bed suites were ideal, as each couple had plenty of comfort and privacy. The beds are so comfortable I asked the owner where she got them! It's beautifully decorated, well appointed, and we made great use of the back porch during happy hour every day. The location is right smack in the middle of the historic district, but on a quiet block surrounded by historic homes from the 1800's. Parking was super easy on the street right out front of the house, and we hardly needed our car all weekend. We walked to the river, Forsyth Park, shops on Broughton Street and plenty of restaurants nearby for breakfast, lunch, coffee and dinner. Couldn't have hoped for a better rental in terms of location and comfort. 5 stars! We're already talking to the owner about a return trip!
If you're like us and you're visiting Savannah because it is a beautiful city with a fascinating history, then you will LOVE staying here as much as we did! We almost stayed at a very well-reviewed and storied Inn on Broughton Street; we are so, so happy we found this listing instead! Just as described, the townhouse is on a beautiful street in the heart of Savannah's historic district. In fact, we did the Noble Jones Civil War tour with Mike (HIGHLY RECOMMEND). Mike asked us where we were staying in town. When we responded, "Jones Street," he smiled. We asked why, and he said, "Well, then, you are getting the essence of Savannah." It is an easy - and again, beautiful - walk to everything. It is also very comfortable. Great beds. Well appointed baths. Well equipped kitchen. We also really enjoyed the porch. Mary is a great host! We texted a question, and she got right back to us.
I went here for a bachelorette weekend for my little sister. It was a wonderful house in a great location. All six girls had a great time and we were amazed at this house. The kitchen is the perfect size for cooking up breakfast or other meals. None of us had ever been to Savannah and lets just say there are stairs everywhere so we got a workout as well. The back porch was a perfect spot to sit in the morning to drink your coffee or sit in the evening with a glass of wine. Booking the house was a breeze and Ms. Anderson was easy to work with. She answered any of my questions pretty efficiently. This house is the perfect house for more than a girls weekend, it's great for a family or a couples getaway. Savannah will be missed but we will be back.
We had a wonderful time at this townhome! It was very clean and well decorated. The location was perfect. Everything was within walking distance. Mary (the owner) was always very courteous and easy to get in touch with. We would definitely recommend this property to family and friends!
My family and I was uncertain about renting a home for our vacation. Typically we stay in a hotel, but our friends told us how they had a great experience renting a home, so we decided to try it. This home was more than my family and I expected. The historic home was very clean, which was most important to us. The home was spacious with all the amenities we needed. We could walk to all the areas we wanted to see in Savannah. It was near many restaurants and shopping. We had a slight problem with the WiFi, but the owner fixed it immediately. She was very attentive to our needs. We would definitely recommended this home. We would stay here again and again.
This was our second visit to Savannah. We stayed at this beautiful home on Jones Street last time and made certain to book it weeks ago to make sure we could stay again. Mary is a dream to deal with . The home is exactly as described and functions perfectly for 2 couples with 2 en suite bedrooms both with everything you would expect. You can walk everywhere and leave your car on the street where there is free parking just in front of the home. When we return to Savannah we will be sure to call Mary and reserve this same location.

Reviews like this really mean a lot to me! It's hard to believe it's been over 6 years since my husband and I launched our first VRBO listing at this very location. We now have a bustling vacation rental business handling many amazing downtown properties for our friends and neighbors. We understand that we are a big part of Savannah's "hostess city" tradition. I am so happy we are accumulating loyal repeat customers. Guests like this one make our job rewarding and fun. -Mary
We enjoyed our weekend in this home on Jones Street. On-street parking was convenient, the Kroger was only a few blocks away, and we were only two blocks away from Abercorn with all the squares. Nice kitchen with everything we needed for three adults and a 9 month old baby. The upstairs bedrooms were comfortable and the master bathroom was very nice. It was very cold the weekend we visited so we didn't get to use the back porch, but it looks very inviting for coffee in the morning! There isn't a lot of comfortable seating in the living room, but in Savannah you aren't in the house much. We had a wonderful stay in a uniquely Savannah home on one of the most beautiful streets in the country. Mary was quick to reply and provide information on entering the property, very nice to interact with. Definitely recommend this property!
This is a beautiful home with everything we needed for our trip to Savannah for a family wedding. The location was perfect for the 6 of us...20 minute walk to the river or 5 minute Uber. Other family members who were staying elsewhere were jealous of us having such a lovely home away. We really enjoyed sitting out back on the deck eating breakfast and lunch, listening to the birds and watching them eat the berries off the tree...so relaxing. We were able to do a couple loads of laundry before returning home in the washer & dryer. It is located in a quite neighborhood with friendly neighbors. We found the quaint little Maté Factor Cafe about a 5 minute walk SW...wonderful coffee, tea, pastries and sandwiches in a very rustic fun cafe with tables on the sidewalk or little courtyard patio out back. It is right by the Kroger/Starbucks and Dollar Tree. We had a small glitch with getting service on the living room TV (very disturbing to the men in the group during March Madness). I called to report it and Jennifer came right over and got it working in less than an hour. If we return to Savannah and this property is available we would definitely stay there again. We've already returned to Ohio and told others about this property. You can't go wrong staying in this property!!
The home was very clean and well located in the gorgeous residential area of the historic district. Parking was super easy and free just in front of the home! We never had an issue finding a space. We only ate breakfast at the townhome but the kitchen has everything you might need to cook a nice meal. The Kroger grocery store is within walking distance. We enjoyed sitting on the lovely back porch in the afternoons. We were able to easily walk everywhere within the historic district and pretend we were locals! There is some traffic noise and you can hear the foghorns on the ships early in the morning. However, that is part of the experience of staying in beautiful Savannah. It would definitely not deter me from staying here again. Overall this a wonderful place to stay! We loved it!
Very clean and user ready

Thank you so much, I found out this family chose to book this house because it was recommended by their friends who stayed here a few months prior. It means so much to us to have repeat customers and those who tell friends about the house.
This property was perfect for our family of three. The furnishings were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The location was perfect for walking to nearly all areas of the historic district and eateries. We would definitely stay here again.
Second time we have stayed at this property. It does all the things you would expect: comfortable, well-furnished, clean and everything works. More than that though, it feels just right for a stay in Savannah reflecting much of what makes the city such a great place to visit. Lots of character, solid, history and looking good. All in all, just about perfect which is why we returned.
This is our second time in Savannah and we've stayed here both times. It's the perfect location. Many restaurants within walking distance. Tybee island is close by. The house is beautiful with an amazing soaking tub. The outdoor patio was a great place to unwind at night and enjoy the complementary bottle of wine. This is definitely the place we will continue to return to on our next trip back.
The home is very livable and comfortable. Everything was as described and the whole stay was easy from start to finish. The home is convenient to everything. Great history, restaurants, and shops. We were 2 couples and it was perfect. Thanks.
The 505 E. Jones Street house was exactly as pictured and described. It was 2 minutes walking distance from Whitefield Square where my daughter was married. Like a fairy tale steeped in history! The house was so tastefully decorated, clean, well stocked, and comfortable in every way. We tried the Intuition Chardonnay that was there for us to enjoy - delicious.
This property is in a great, walkable location on beautiful Jones Street. Street parking was available right outside the Townhouse. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed if you wanted to do any of your own cooking, or make breakfast. Mary was very responsive and helpful for questions or concerns. I would recommend this property wholeheartedly. A great property for a family.
The unit was well maintained and we were most comfortable. We did not cook but the kitchen was well outfitted if we had chosen to. There are so many great restaurants within easy walking distance so why cook!
My family enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday at this home on Jones Street. The kitchen was perfect for preparing a Thanksgiving dinner and the home was very comfortable for hanging out on Thanksgiving Day for watching the parade and football. After feasting, we found it easy to walk the neighborhood which is filled with historic homes and beautiful architecture. And it is a short walk to both Forsyth Park and the historic district filled with shops and restaurants. We look forward to a return visit to Savannah and Jones Street in the near future.
We so enjoyed this little respite in the middle of Savannah. The house was so comfortable, beautifully decorated, and a great place to relax during the heat of the day. We were only there for a few days and did not get to take advantage of using the kitchen, etc. but I would love to come back. Love the back patio as well for when it's a bit cooler.
First time in Savannah and I would definitely come back to this property again. Located in a quiet, quaint neighborhood but walkable to sites, grocery store, places to eat. The home was clean, had everything we needed and the back porch is a great place to hang out. Thank you!
Beautiful home, nicely restored with modern conveniences. The home is in the perfect place for parking the car and walking to many restaurants, shops, and Forsyth Park. We enjoyed the Saturday farmer's market, and the tents for the arts festival on the riverfront. The home was very clean and perfect for our family. We've been to the beautiful historic city of Savannah many times, but this was our first time to rent a home instead of reserving a hotel room. Very good decision!
This was a very comfortable and quiet home in Savannah's historic district. It has all the comforts of home, on street parking and access to dozens of restaurants within a 10-15 min walk. Managers were very responsive to a minor request. We would happily return.
Overall, a very nice and roomy place. The street facing room stayed cold (average temp during our stay was 80’s) outside and the last two nights of our stay, I would hear the floor creeking, at which point I couldn’t take it any longer. I ended up leaving the room. We also felt a cold breeze/draft feeling near the fireplace on our last night. The fireplace is sealed off so we can’t explain that either. Lastly, we three were in the back room and the nightlight in the hallway between the two bedrooms turned on and off several times. It is a sensor light so it would only do this if something is passing in front of it. I guess we came to Savannah hoping to experience the history and in this case, we did. Beautiful home and obviously the past is alive and well “still” enjoying it to this day and our company. Thank you for providing a clean and spacious home for our first visit to this lovely and charming city.

Thanks for the 5 stars!! This house was my personal home for over 3 years and I never experienced any ghostly things. I do love a good Savannah ghost story so I hate to debunk this one. I think the front bedroom does get max AC because we have brand new ductwork and very good air conditioning, plus that room faces directly North. The night lights we use are solar sensors (not motion sensors) so they go on when it is dark enough, and turn off if it is light so as not to waste the bulb life. They might flicker if the hallway is getting a little light from another room. That said... this home was built in 1875 so there is a chance!
This is our third visit to Savannah where we travel from North Carolina and meet friends from Florida and stay at this wonderful home. It is perfect for 2 couples with 2 en suite bedrooms upstairs and large dining room and living room downstairs. The kitchen is updated and everything functions perfectly. The location on Jones Street allows you to walk everywhere. Mary Anderson is a pleasure to work with.
This townhouse was wondeful for our family of four for our stay in lovely Savannah. My husband and I met our daughter abd her husband there for four nights. We were able to park our car and walk everywhere. The townhouse is spacious and beautifully updated. It was very clean. Linens were excellent. We found everything we needed in the kitchen, although we did not do much cooking as Savannah’s restaurants are fabulous. The back porch was wonderful for relaxing at the end of a day. The owner left a great information binder which answered any questions we had and clearly explained everything we needed to know about staying in the townhouse. The restauarant recommendations were very helpful. The internet was easy to access, fast, and very reliable which was very important for my husband as he had some work to do. This townhouse was one of the best places we have ever stayed in our travels and we will certainly recommend it to friends. And, we look forward to staying there again in the future.
Mary's place surpassed our expectations. Exactly as described and rooms were very spacious and beds extremely comfortable. It was very clean, very quiet and within walking distance to everything. Ate at some excellent restaurants and really enjoyed spending the Christmas Holiday at this beautiful home. Would highly recommend!
A very nice stay in the Historic District of Savannah. We recently stayed with good friends three nights in mid February. Weather was warm and enjoyed the location of the house which made walking to everything very easy and enjoyable. Mary and her assistant were very quick to respond with any questions and we had no problem with the property or location. Everything we needed was at the home. The parks, restaurants and history made this stay so nice and look forward to another stay in the future for more exploring. Tybee Island and beaches were also nice and helped these white Minnesota bodies get some color! Highly recommended
Very nicely furnished and decorated 2BR, 2 BA apartment on the eastern edge of the Historic District. Very clean with all the standard amenities plus a bottle of wine. Very comfortable king-sized beds and recently remodeled large bathrooms. Clear set of instructions. Very good value. Quiet neighborhood.
This is a beautiful and comfortable historic home in gorgeous savannah. Within walking distance of the riverfront, downtown, museums and hundreds of restaurants. We barely moved our rental car. Recommend Bonaventure cemetery for an afternoon and a trip with captains Renee and Dave if you want to get out on the water. But it’s also totally wonderful to just sit on the deck and sip wine and watch the birds and squirrels. Hope we can return to both this city and this home.
The property was perfect! Beautiful house and perfect location. The property owner (Mary) was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I did not like was the parking. Could never park in the same spot and sometimes far away from the house but it was all worth it.
My husband and I and our daughter, son in law and two grandchildren. Very pretty inside. Bedding comfortable. Kitchen equipped nicely. Bathrooms nice. Quiet On street parking never a problem. Walking distance to historic sites and restaurants. Kroger grocery store very close Convenient good prices and ready made foods also Starbucks inside. Our entire family loved it!
Beautiful home
We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed this house on Jones street. The house is beautiful with lovely furnishings, nice sized bathrooms, and comfortable beds. The kitchen is stocked with a decent amount of spices and we did end up cooking and eating in on a few nights. We loved the outdoor patio and often had breakfast outside. In my opinion, the location of the house is unbeatable. It's located on the beautiful Jones street and there are lots of places to eat close by. Even though we had a car, we walked pretty much everywhere in the historic district. Hoping to be back!
Loviest Street in Savannah
A great apartment perfectly located for downtown Savannah, on one of the loveliest streets in the city. We had everything we needed, a useful house manual was provided, and a welcoming bottle of wine. Mary was in touch with all the check-in/out info in good time and our whole stay was easy and relaxed. We would definitely stay here again.
Highly recommend!
Highly recommend this location for your next stay in savannah. The home has everything you’ll expect, and more. Walk almost everywhere you want to go. Beds were so comfy I may actually have to go mattress shopping now.
