Great location
We really enjoyed our stay here on one of the prettiest streets in the country, Everything was clean and spotless, and we enjoyed the proximity to the water and all the historic areas. Leopolds is a must!
Cant wait to go back
The initial communications were easy and friendly. we received an email with all the details about the property, access, etc. Upon arrival, we walked in and were greeted with a cool screen/tablet on the wall that welcomed us to the property and provided eateries, points of interest, and much more. You can send your selections to your phone! Very cool feature. The propertyhad everything we needed. It was very clean and extremely inviting. The back patio is adorable, too. The location is sublime. EVERYTHING is within walking distance. Overall, we had a marvelous time
A gem - just as described
My wife and I had the opportunity to call this perfectly located home our own during our recent trip to Savannah. The cute home did not disappoint and was exactly as described. The location could not have been better and offered up the convenience of we were looking for. The back patio was perfect in the evenings to help unwind from a busy day filled with sightseeing and exploring the city . Our flight arrived early and Mary allowed us to check in early. The process could not have been easier. We plan to return to Savannah and hope to stay in this amazing little gem of a home again
Check in was easy and the house was just as listed. Savannah is beautiful- strongly recommend Savannah food tour and cooking classes at the Forsyth Mansion. Overall wonderful stay. Side note- a previous review mentioned a Keurig and we came with pods, the machine that is present is not a Keurig. There is a regular coffe maker however.
Very nice and clean. Nice to have patio. A little far walk to the downtown area. Parking is pretty easy, finding a spot close by to the house. Suggestion: have coffee/k-cups there for at least first day you are there.
A great property on the most scenic street in Historic Savannah. As others have said, an excellent location within walking distance to the river, many squares, and Forsyth Park. Ride both the north south and the east west DOT free bus routes to better understand how easy it is to get around. Everything about this property is as advertised. We would definitely stay here again.
This place really cant be beat for 2 people of any age. Its hip but also comfortable (one level) for older travelers. The apartment itself is nicely appointed and the cleanest, best maintained weve seen. The location is excellent, parking good, safe neighborhood, etc. You can;t go wrong here.
We stayed for the weekend moving our son into college at Ga Southern and loved the location. We felt very safe and loved the nice porch out back with lots of privacy! You can walk anywhere easily from this apartment. We will book again soon!
Location, location, location. This spot cannot be beat. Great efficient apartment, fits 4. Pull out sofa in livingroom and bedroom is good sized. Take some time to stroll Jones Street both in the day and at night. Beautiful street!
We enjoyed this fully equipped apartment during our stay in Savannah. Everything was comfortable! We slept well on the bed, had all the essentials in the kitchen and bath. Bonus was a full washer and dryer! The back patio was perfect for reading or a glass of wine. We loved our stay and would definitely come again. PS. Upsize the TV in the bedroom!
The property was beautiful and just perfect for us. Loved the patio. We used it everyday. We would come back after our day and have a gin and tonic and in the morning our coffee. It was so peaceful and quiet. Loved the little dining room too. It was clean and in good order. So nice to just park our car for the 4 days we were there. Lots of info there about places to see We will definitely be back. So much more to explore in Savannah. Thank you.
The building was on the edge of the historical district, with a nice feel for Savannah. My friend and I are walkers so we could walk to restaurants, stores, the river, and other sites. The apartment worked well for two, but might be a bit crowded for a larger group. Street parking was easily available in February. The back patio area, with an overhead light and fan, was perfect for relaxing. We felt safe and comfortable in the area and house. The manager was very willing to offer assistance and information. We had some tech troubles with the TV and thermostat, but even though encouraged to call for help, we made it all work. Nice place!
Owner Response
Our nest thermostat simply needs to be twisted to adjust the target temperature. Do not press it or push it. If you need help changing from AC to heat you might have to call or text me but other than that it is very easy to use.
The apartment was perfect! It was in a very historic part of Savannah and close to everything we wanted to experience. The apartment was spotless and provided all the necessary things we needed for a comfortable stay. We appreciated the welcome book that recommended places to eat and things to see. Thank you for a wonderful visit to Savannah.
We enjoyed our stay, the space was exactly what we were looking for. We did not utilize the kitchen as we wanted to experience the local restaurants however it was fully stocked with all you would need. The bed was very comfortable which is very important to us as my husband has a bad back. The location was perfect for us a little bit away from the hustle and bustle and very close to the awesome breakfast spot Clarys Cafe.
The apartment is located on one of the prettiest streets in historic downtown and close to everything in the historic district. It was clean and had all of the essentials. The complimentary bottle of wine was a great touch. With Kroger’s nearby we were all set up. I would definitely book again.
The place was very clean and tidy. Loved the king bed! It was very similar to our memory foam mattress at home. I am a very light sleeper and one night I could hear the people above us walking around for a while but most nights, it was quiet. It was quite a walk to the river but we made it there and back several time.
The apartment was charming and perfect for my vacation to Savannah to visit dear friends who live around the downtown area. Everything I ever needed was in walking distance and the rain held off! (For the most part :)) I strongly recommend this rental!
I had a great time visiting Savannah and Tybee Island with my boyfriend. The place was clean and had everything we needed. I accidentally ruined 2 of her towels and she was very understanding and sent a payment request for the towels. She was sweet and easy to work with and made our stay in Savannah stress free. It is about a mile walk to all the stores and bars but my boyfriend and I didn’t mind the walking.
My daughter and I came for a girls weekend. We enjoyed Savanna very much. Mary’s place was just what we needed! The bed is super comfortable. The apartment has all the amenities you will need. We felt safe. From here you can walk to anything. It’s a great little place!
We loved how this apartment was within walking distance to many places including our favorite breakfast place Clary's. Comfortable, clean, we would definitely stay there again!
My husband & I enjoyed our week long stay. The neighbourhood was charming and we felt very safe when out and about in the area. I loved looking at all the historical homes. The unit itself was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. We immediately felt right at home. And now a special and public great big THANK YOU to both Mary and Sam. I managed to lock us out of the rental unit. Mary handled my SOS call with tact, grace and efficiency. There were no recriminations. No silly questions. Instead, Mary immediately outlined a plan of action to solve our problem. Within 30 minutes of my contacting Mary, Sam had arrived to rescue us. Sam seemed genuinely glad to be able to help us out. Oh, and, did I mention, this happened on a holiday (Memorial Day). We really do feel that both Mary and Sam went over and above our expectations. As a result of their actions, we can honestly say we experienced the full charm and hospitality of the south. Please accept our heartfelt appreciation. If we get a chance to visit Savannah again, we would not hesitate to rent this unit again.
My husband and I stayed 3 nights in this unit. It is on the outskirts of the historic district in a very safe and quaint neighborhood. It did require some walking to get to places but it was doable and once we figured out the free bus system that helped. The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. The outdoor patio was an added bonus as was the bottle of wine waiting when arrived.
The location of this apartment and ground level access is Wonderful ! It's small, but cute and all we needed. Would recommend a new mattress, a TV program schedule, and directions on use of the thermostat. Otherwise, all good ! We really enjoyed our stay in Savannah.
We visited Mary’s lovely apartment for two nights from January 29-31 and the location was absolutely ideal! Close enough to walk to all the sights we wanted to see, yet tucked away in a peaceful neighbourhood on one of the prettiest streets in Savannah! Free parking was easily available on the street and never an issue. The little garden area in the back was a nice place to relax after a day of sight seeing. Mary provides an excellent information binder, pointing out sights to see and restaurants in the various areas. Also, on the living room mantle, there is an abundance of ‘sights to see pamphlets’ available to review. We did not take a troller tour but choose to walk everywhere instead, so especially helpful was the ‘Connect the Dots’ pamphlet which shows where you can get on and off this free transit system when you need a little break from walking. We ate at The Thai (very good) and The Public Kitchen (excellent). Our favourite sights (all free) to see were the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (amazing and included an informative tour by one of the parishioners...well worth a donation to the church), River Street and the whole riverfront area (active & fun) and Forsyth Park (just beautiful). We would most definitely stay at Mary’s when visiting Savannah again!
We loved our stay in this great apartment on one of the best streets in Savannah. The street is residential and away from the commotion of downtown yet just a short walk to many lovely destinations. The apartment itself was roomy, clean, and comfortable. Our only regret is that we didn't spend more time here.
Even in 40 degree weather we walked to everything. We loved the place- it had everything we needed for a few days stay, including a wonderful little electric fireplace/heater that I covet! Bed and bedding were comfy and soft, kitchen was well supplied. We would stay again, and hope for warmer weather next time to be able to enjoy the outdoor patio.
The property manager was very easy to work with. She sent easy instructions on how to access the rental. Everything was clean and the pictures were accurate. The location was the best part, we were able to walk to everything. The street sweepers are annoying if you are going to stay on the weekend. You can't park on one side of the street on Friday night, and then you can't park on the other side of the street on Saturday night. But you can park a street down, and you won't have to worry about moving your car. The only negative thing I would have to say is that the toilet paper is very cheap and thin, it is the Scott one ply brand. Everything else was great. I would stay here again.
This was a nice location but be prepared to walk. We enjoyed the walking through all the historic streets. The apartment is cozy and had a nice backyard porch. It could use some updated items. Newer linens and towels are needed. A set of matching glasses in the kitchen. Overall it is a good place.
Owner Response
As always, direct feedback via call text or email is appreciated since it is faster. I did not get this information about anyone wishing for new glasses or towels for over 2 weeks after their departure (reviews are delayed). The towels had been laundered enough to seem worn, although not stained at all and therefore the maid had not expressed concern. I agreed with this reviewer upon careful consideration and the bath towels have been replaced. The bed linens are all new. Matching cute new drinking glasses are now in the cupboard to replace/supplement some mismatched ones. We totally appreciate feedback for easily acheivable aesthetic improvements like these! .
I was so pleased with the apartment. It was clean and well cared for with all the amenities provided. The only exception was coffee which we missed. We were so busy visiting during the day that it was a blessing to come “home” and rest. We felt safe and completely at home here. Mary was wonderful to work with. This apartment was so charming and quiet. I would love to come back and stay here again!
Owner Response
Even though this rental does not technically provide food items or groceries, I actually do try to provide coffee as often as possible. I am really sorry none was here for this guest. I will do better in the future and have asked the maid to help me by reminding me if it is all gone but the grocery store is less than half a mile away if we miss it! The items the maid is focused on stocking for the guests are toilet paper, bath soap, dish soap and the like. Coffee is more of an owner bonus that I provide without bothering the maid about it but I will focus on keeping it stocked! I also provide a free bottle of wine as often as possible so I really do want to offer small conveniences to make my guests feel welcome.
We booked this condominium for our stay in Savannah while setting our daughter up at SCAD. When we arrived, getting into the condo was easy. The condo is on the ground level, which is convenient and there was always free parking on the street in front of the unit. The unit was clean and well equipped with such things as towels, sheets, blankets and everything we needed for the kitchen. The main bed was rather soft for our tastes. The patio in back was quiet and very nice. The unit was very quiet. We had to change the original reservation due to Hurricane Irma. Mary was very cooperative in allowing us to change and even offered to refund us for two days rent since we were staying two days less than planned. We felt that was a very nice offer. However, when we checked in, we found that the pillows on the bed smelled very bad. So, the first night, before going to bed, we did a quick wash to clean them. Unfortunately we made the mistake of adding some dark items to the wash. As a result, two of the pillowcases developed dark stains. When we checked out, Mary complained to us about this and rescinded her offer of the refund for the two days we didn't use. She told us that she had to replace the entire set of sheets and we should pay for that. My wife called her to discuss the matter as keeping two nights rent to replace a set of sheets seemed exorbitant to us. During the conversation, Mary became very defensive and raised her voice towards my wife. So, my wife said goodbye and hung up. While we had no problem with paying a reasonable amount to replace the sheet set, this incident really detracted from the experience.
Owner Response
I am very surprised that after the photos and discussion about the ruined linens this guest would still complain about this. They seemed very nice so I would never have rated them badly for their accident but they did not even report their "mistake" about washing dark clothes that bled on the linens. The maid arrived to discover the entire bedding set (King sheets, bed spread with shams plus comforter with additional matching shams) ruined by dark blue dye stains. I called and spoke to the husband asking what happened. I thought it might be hair dye. He explained his wife washed our linens with dark clothes that bled. I said OK, I understand how that could happen but we should have been notified so we knew what to expect. Since we were surprised by it I was stuck racing around to take the maid replacement items before the next guest arrived at 3pm. I sent him photos showing it was far more than just the pillow cases. Blue dye was on everything. This was also a really nice set where everything matched so I was very sorry to lose it. I told him we would just call it even instead of me sending money back. They had paid a very low rate and moved their dates initially so the $200 hurricane refund would not have even been in the equation if I had not allowed his first date change purely for his convenience. I mentioned that and said all those linens added up to about $200 so I would call it a wash. He said OK! Later before the wife called there was one other aspect of this situation he is not mentioning. This couple moved to another apartment I manage next door because they wanted to stay longer and could not extend at this unit due to the next arrival already booked. They left the key for the other apartment in their daughter's dormitory and called my assistant after midnight asking her to drive downtown to let them in, which she did. So when the wife called me the very next day saying it was not fair I was "charging" so much for the ruined linens, I explained that the cost of King sheets, a matching bedspread and shams plus another matching comforter and shams was at least that much and I was not actually charging anything I was just calling it even. I mentioned the midnight lockout and that many rental companies charge a fee for a lockout call and we were also letting that go. She seemed to realize that was true. At least they recognized how nice and clean the apartment is. This was rare, normally accidents are reported and everything is pleasant.
Just in town for two nights on business, and I wish Incould have stayed on longer! Lovely apartment in a great location. I felt like a local instantly, rolling out each morning onto the prettiest street in town.
We had such a great stay in this apartment! Perfectly situated in a residential block of the historic district with easy parking and within walking distance to everything. It was super clean, adorable, and well-equipped. The manager was a dream to work with as she answered our seemingly endless stream of pre-arrival questions and requests for recommendations with ease. I would definitely recommend this to traveling couples as it is the perfect size for them. And it's on the ground floor so no stairs - yay! We look forward to coming back here on our next trip to Savannah in the spring. Thanks!
It was cute but lacked the extras expected. Not quite as convenient as we thought it would be, but we enjoyed walking the city.
Owner Response
We asked what "extras" this guest was missing and she prefers K Cup instead of a regular coffee maker. She considers standard coffee makers to be outdated (we had a brand new one during this guest visit so it was not the machine itself that was outdated just the standard drip style that she does not like). We have never had a guest mention requiring K Cup before and we personally love coffee but have an old fashioned drip style machine and do not use K Cups at all as they cause tons of extra trash waste. We will continue to monitor feedback and if more of our guests state that a normal coffee maker is not sufficient we will certainly get a k cup machine too and keep it in the cabinet for those people. We do want to make guests happy, and we monitor all feedback earnestly.
Great getaway and easy little town to relax and enjoy great food with a very friendly atmosphere. The locals were inviting and so nice. Definitely see why people fall in love and stay.
Owner Response
So glad you loved our city and the apartment
I stayed here with my 11 year old daughter for two nights. It was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. It was located within walking distance of everything we wanted to do and is on beautiful Jones St. Clary's Cafe is less than a 5 minute walk. I did have to park off of Broad Street when there was no parking available in front of or around the rental, but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. My only complaint would be that we had some heavy-footed tenants in the rental above us that we could hear walking across the floor until midnight one night when we were trying to sleep. But other than that, the place was great!
Great location!! The apartment was within walking distance to Savannah's historic downtown, unique shops and amazing restaurants. The place was clean and very comfortable. It was everything we hoped for and more. It made our first visit to Savannah a memorable one. We definitely plan on staying here again on future visits.
Nice clean apartment with everything you need during your stay. We didn't use but even had small shampoo, etc in bathroom like a hotel room. Convenient to several restaurants and Kroger. If I had any suggestions at all, it would be the location of the kitchen light switch and possibly change the bedroom around for a table to fit on each side of the bed. Very good experience except for 2 nights the people above us walked heavily at all hours of day and night but very quite after they left. Didn't get to use the patio area. Too hot all week. Would definitely rent again.
This home is exactly like the pictures portray. All the necessities and comforts of home. Very comfortable bed and the patio was perfect for morning coffee and evening wind down. Every thing was clean. Beautiful area and we walked every where to see all the sights.
This unit is much larger than it appears in the photos. It was incredibly clean, smelled very good upon entering, and is decorated beautifully. The bed was very comfortable, the sofa was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, the washer and dryer appeared to be newer, even though I didn't need to use them during my stay. The patio out back is comfortable and inviting. This unit is within walking distance of most things in the historic district. Check-in and check-out were both simple and easy. I definitely will be staying here on my next visit to Savannah.
We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. Nicely furnished and in a beautiful neighborhood. When dealing one on one with the owner, Mary, she was a true delight and very helpful. I will definitely recommend her apartment to anyone wishing to spend some time in beautiful Savannah.
My wife and I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay at the property. We parked the car when we arrived and didn't move it until we left. We walked everywhere (put a lot of steps and miles on) but it was well worth it. The apartment was clean and very cute. Loved the back area where we sat at night.
Owner Response
Thank you to all of our guests who enjoy this property and leave their feedback. -Mary Anderson
Picked this place after a fair amount of research as choices are many in Savannah. Location could not have been better. Just outside the busy and noisy downtown area but still in the heart of the historic district. We were able to park our car right in front of our door and walk everywhere. Downtown river front was an easy 15-20 minute walk only made longer by the meandering through many of the parks on the way. Forsyth park is only a few blocks away as is the super market should you need any provisions. The tree lined E. Jones street where the apartment is located itself is a delight with its historic homes and flowers along the sidewalks. For a couple the apartment was comfortable and well maintained. Really a home away from home as we've come to expect a good VRBO to be. Full kitchen and bath, large bedroom, living room with street view and a garden patio with comfortable outdoor furniture. Finally, this apartment is priced quite reasonable for all that it offers.
Great apartment!
This apartment is great! Located on one of the most historic streets (according to the tour guide) and is within walking distance of many things if you don't have a broke foot. If you cant walk far, the free bus service is available. We used the tour trolleys to get around. There is a stop about 3 blocks away. The apartment was better than described, roomy and very clean. So much cheaper than a hotel and more room too! We would definitely stay here again.
The apartment was fine for what we needed. It is centrally located and within walking distance to anything in the historic district. The guest book was a good resource for restaurants and things to do in the area. This apartment was a good value for our week long stay.
Location, location, location! My husband and I spent several weeks visiting the city. This was a perfect location for us. We were near everything and I enjoyed the beautiful squares and walking up and down Jones St. Mary made our visit even easier helping with logistics and giving us good ideas of things to see and do. We recommend this as a perfect city apartment. Because it is on the first floor there is sometimes noise when the upstairs unit is occupied. The outdoor patio is a gem and we spent much of our time sitting there. Overall we were very happy with our stay
Lovely place to stay for our two days in Savannah before we go on to Florida. Recommend this little place to anyone who wants to stay on the most beautiful street. Only downfall was the sofa hide a bed, not comfortable at all but really how many of them are? Courtward was handy for our smoker friends. Would stay here anytime we go through Savannah. Thank you Mary for running over to fix the TV.
I adore the way they remodeled this house. Everything was completely perfect. The location was great, as it was blocks away from things but not too far. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable. Always a plus to have a good comfy bed. If I have to choose a downfall it would be the water pressure but there is nothing that the owner could do in those terms. It wasn't bad enough to get less than 5 stars. We will stay again on our next trip to Savannah.
This 1br/1ba property was idea for us with a convenient location, charming neighborhood and the additional bonus of having a king sized bed (hard to find in vacation rentals!). Mary was extremely helpful in providing us with an amazing amount of information and anticipating what guests might want to know. The apartment was clean, furnished with all of the tools you might need and is a very cozy stay. We were able to walk everywhere in the historic district in just a few minutes. Parking can be a challenge on weekends as one side of the street is closed on Friday nights for the street sweeper and the other night the street sweeper does the opposite side. Because we arrived late we had a hard time finding parking right on Jones but easily found it a block away and kept it there all weekend. Jones street is gorgeous and nighttime walks feel very safe. I would highly recommend!
We were unable to make our trip due to Hurricane Matthew. We made several calls regarding the storm. The property managers Mary and Sam were awesome. We actually drove half way there. The traffic going north on I-75 was crazy. We made one last call and Sam told us their County was being evacuated. We will reschedule!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary in Savannah. We had never been before, and the trip was awesome. Mary's home was attractive and clean. It had everything you could possibly need. We left the car parked and walked everywhere. Absolutely beautiful area. Mary is wonderful to work with. We will be back!
My husband and I were celebrating 16 years of marriage and decided to visit Savannah. We had never been. I'm sure we'll be back again soon though. The condo is in a super location - pretty much in the middle of everything. The river was just a few block away as was Forsyth Park and everything in between. We stayed Friday to Monday and were able to park in front of the condo all weekend (and free). The condo was a great size for 2 people. We didn't really use the kitchen since there were so many yummy dining options around. The bed was really comfortable and the front sitting area a nice place to make a plan for the day. If you are a party of 2 looking for a comfortable place to stay while visiting for a few days, I would definitely recommend this unit. Someone previously mentioned the water pressure in the shower, which we noticed, too. Had it not been for that, we would have given the unit 5 stars. All in all, we had a great stay and the condo was comfortable and well located. We will stay here again for sure on our next weekend trip.
This was a great find for us! The apartment was nicely decorated, clean, and the perfect location! The ONLY negative was the guests in the apartment above us woke us up between 6:30 & 7am each morning being super loud.
My husband and I stayed at this apartment for 5 days, we were able to roam the city on foot, only getting our car out for a trip to Tybee. The apartment is close enough to everything but far enough away from the noise on River Street at night. We had everything we needed for our stay, the apartment was very clean and comfortable. Parking is on the street but we did not have any issues finding a place to park. We ate breakfast every morning at Clary's Cafe, the food was great and service excellent. Would recommend this place to anyone!!
Thank you Mary, for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. Amazing for the size of the home it gave us enough room to sit back and relax. The patio was enjoyable sitting outside in the early morning and late at night very peaceful and the patio furniture very comfortable. The home had everything you need. The area is very nice for morning walks and nice walk to the river. A must is to make an attempt to eat at the Old Pink House ; lunch was amazing. Thank you again Andy and Michele
This is the most precious apartment! The location to river walk is excellent. Clary's Diner is just a couple of blocks away...which we highly recommend for breakfast. The apartment is well maintained and very clean. LOVED the hardwood flooring. We enjoyed having the back patio to hang out on at night. The bed is by far the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Mary was prompt in answering any questions I had. I thought it was great that the apartment had several brochures of attractions and restaurants...made planning so much easier. Also thought it was a lovely touch that Mary has a notebook in the living room for people to write their reviews of the apartment and Savannah. It gave us a lot of great ideas for things to do while we were in town. We plan on coming back to Savannah and definitely plan on staying here again!
What a relaxing place to be! We stayed on East Jones street and found most of what we needed and wanted to do were within walking distances. When we walked, even though the weather was warm, we found shady sidewalks most of the time. We felt safe in all of the areas we went to. Mary's home was so nice to come back to and the perfect size for two people. The home is brick which also makes it cooler in warmer temps. We were so busy taking in the sites that we didn't even get a chance to enjoy the patio area except for the first night; the fan does add the benefit of circulating the air around you to stay cooler. It was nice to have a kitchen to cook in and the cooking supplies were plentiful. Krogers is nearby for groceries! We don't know what the historic housing laws are, but would have loved a grill to sizzle a few steaks on, but you can't have it all and Mary has done a really good job providing you with a very nice rental home; better than most! The laundry area was a bonus as well. The bed is beyond comfy! We would have liked to have better water pressure in the shower, but again, it certainly doesn't disappoint us. Mary has a full supply of area brochures if you are ever in need of finding places to visit. The upstairs guests were quiet and you could hear faint footsteps in the evening hours; it wasn't a big deal. We have learned through years of travel--if you don't like noises, buy yourself some ear plugs! I think all of the guests that were renting portions of this home were all considerate of each other. The home is so much better than a hotel!! If you did take you car during the day, parking was often a challenge during the evening hours. We found that some housing in the area was students of SCAD and they were either moving out or entertaining groups of peers, but we did find parking a couple of blocks away; really no big deal to walk those extra steps. The East Jones property is in a good location and convenient to many places of interest. We would do a stay here again. Thanks Mary! ~Wisconsinites
This was our first trip to Savannah and this super cute and quaint little place was perfect for us! Must stay for couples/girl friends! Nestled on the very famous most beautiful street in America, (I didn't know this at the time I booked), Jones Street, this place is very quiet and lovely decorated. You can walk to anywhere in historic district. Should we visit Savannah again, we will most definitely stay here. I highly recommend booking this lovely place. Thank you Mary for providing such wonderful accommodations that made our stay just awesome! :-)
My "old" college roommate and I decided to revisit our spring break days with a trip to Savannah this year. I have been using VRBO's for all of my trips recently - and this one was delightful! It was plenty of space for the two of us. The fact that there were no stairs made it easy. The king bed allowed for plenty of comfortable sleeping space. The living room couch was great for reading in the evenings. The kitchen and bath were clean and had everything we needed. However, the highlight for us was the back patio . . . where we could enjoy coffee/breakfast every morning . . . and cocktails and snacks/dinner every evening. It was a perfect place for us to reconnect and catch up with one another after all these years. I was also a perfect location. A beautiful street & quiet neighborhood. Although we had a car, we only used it to get groceries (Krogers) and for a day trip to Tybee Island (The Crab Shack). We were able to walk everywhere else. We enjoyed meals at 1790's, the Olde Pink House, Tubby's (on the river) and Paula Deen's The Lady and Sons restaurant. Bonaventure Cemetery is the most beautiful cemetery I have yet to visit. We also enjoyed a Creepy Pub Crawl . . . a different way to spend an evening. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful city with all the comforts of home!!
This place was a great home away from home for six nights. Every local who heard I was staying on Jones St enviously made positive remarks about how much they liked that street. We found the landlords to be quite responsive to our few requests and would stay again in a flash. Be prepared to walk...it is not in the heart of the historic district, but close enough to everything to be quite accessible. I walked everywhere (except to Tybee Island!) and enjoyed being able to pass through all the beautiful squares on foot. The local Kroger grocery store is large and has everything you will need if you want to stock up.
This one bedroom garden apartment was just the right place for a quiet getaway. I could walk and explore on such an interesting street. Clary's Diner was just a few blocks down Jones and so convenient. I only moved my car when I went to the nearby grocery store. The apartment was tastefully decorated and furnished, but the high spot for me, had to be the bed! This king size bed is a heavenly oasis and I'm not a great sleeper. I truly enjoyed the location of the apartment and the atmosphere of the neighborhood. Added perk was the back porch area for reading and enjoying the great outdoors at night. Thanks for a great stay!
My husband and I spent 12 days in Savannah in this lovely apartment. We wanted a place to stay in the historic district and this home was perfect for us. It had the feel of an older home, but was very tastefully updated. It had everything we needed including an awesome king size bed. There was nothing lacking and in fact it was stocked with supplies. The location was wonderful. We were able to walk the entire historic district without a problem. Mary was extremely helpful and without hesitation resolved a couple of little problems. Would recommend!
We loved this town house and Savannah. Everything was clean and very nice. The only thing I would say was missing was a full length mirror. We would absolutely rent this place again.
Owner Response
This was a good point. We did get a full length mirror.
We travel to Savannah often, and have stayed in a wide range of one and two bedroom rentals. This property was very comfortable, and better than the pictures for trade. It was conveniently located on the beautiful John Street, full of historical charm with modern updates that made our stay very comfortable. The only possible area of complaint was that the water pressure was very low in the shower. This did not impact my star rating, though, as anytime you stay in an older home there will be something that is not 100% perfect. We would definitely consider staying here again!
My husband and I stayed 7 days and were very happy with the location. We could walk to all attractions in Savannah. Only used the car to go golfing, Tybee Island and drove up to Hilton Head. Mary was very helpful and provided all information needed. We would definitely recommend this property and stay again. Keep an eye on the parking signs on the weekend. You have to alternate sides. Beautiful city. Great Green Bay Packer Bar. (JJ Bonerz) on Bay St. Enjoyed the evening dinner cruise. Lots of fun things to do and see.
This is a great location in the Historic area. We parked our car when we arrived and didn't drive until we left. Everything is within walking distance if you are in decent shape. The neighborhood was quiet and clean. I think the unit needs a little attention to detail. Light bulbs burned out, no Kleenex, and the smoke alarm was not in working order. The battery was pulled out and was not engaged mot must have been beeping and a previous renter opened it. The unit was clean however the the shower and bathroom sink drained very slow.
My boyfriend and I stayed at this Savannah property for the weekend and absolutely loved it! The apartment was beautiful, clean, and quiet! We were able to walk to all the major shopping, restaurants, and tours directly from the apartment. Caution though: Sunday evenings is a no park zone outside on the street from 12 am-4am. There were signs but we failed to read them. I'm not sure where any alternative parking is for that particular time. We would love to come back very soon!
Owner Response
One side of Jones Street gets swept starting at midnight on Saturday night. The other side gets swept starting at midnight on Friday night. So on weekends you need to swap sides. The other 5 nights you can park on either side without moving. The cross street Price does not get swept so parking there would work if reading signs & changing sides on weekends is too hard during your vacation. We have always tried to remind guests about reading the sweeper signs which are posted along each side of the street. Since this review I have created a full color info page showing photos of the street signs and explaining them, and have placed that page inside this apartment notebook.
My wife and I stayed in this lovely apartment for a weekend getaway. The apartment is described perfectly and is located on a wonderful, quiet street with plenty of parking. You won't need your car once you arrive. We could not have been more pleased with our stay.
If you're looking for a Four Seasons, this isn't for you. But, if you're looking for a comfortable apartment that feels like home, this is the place! Lovely apartment with everything we needed for a five day stay. Located in the historic district, it's just a few blocks away from everything - great restaurants, bars, Forsyth and several smaller squares and parks and the best butcher market in Savannah - Smith Brothers on E. Liberty St. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to cook at home, which we love. The proximity to great restaurants like The Firefly, Clarys Cafe and the Liberty Grill made it easy to go out. If your driving, it's only 5 minutes to the riverfront. We always found FREE on-street parking and felt safe whenever walking around the neighborhood. The patio outside the kitchen door was perfect for afternoon reading and cocktails. The neighborhood was extremely quiet at night. I'd definitely recommend staying here!
Overall everything was great. Quiet street close to everything. Walking distance from downtown and not far from the grocery store (Kroger). Also is a short drive from the highway to get to Tybee. Easy check in and check out procedures. Only complaints are the sheets weren't washed prior to my arrival and I could hear the people renting the place above me walking around. Besides that, we really enjoyed our visit and would rent this place again if and when we make a return trip. Thank you!

Awesome another 5 star review. Making up a bed neatly and symmetrically is a learned skill. Our awesome experienced maid is teaching one of her family members to help out and there was a learning curve with the presentation. Sheets are always laundered, but the nice new lady did not automatically understand to make the bed up as neatly as our usual maid. We have told her wrinkles, asymmetry etc are no good for a first impression. Never in a million years would any of the linens be left from one guest to the next without laundering them. We are like a military operation with the laundry at this unit, the maid shows up at 11 and has all things clean for the next person at 3. That's the only way to keep good reviews coming.
The apartment was great and very comfortable. The location was convenient to the historic district and waterfront. We didn't use our car from the time we arrived until we left. I recommend staying here.
My friends and I had a wonderful reunion weekend in savannah. The apartment was perfect for the four of us. It was beautifully decorated and had really nice amenities. Mary answered all our questions in a timely manner as well which was very helpful. We were able to walk everywhere, to shops and restaurants and even down to the riverfront. We would certainly stay here again if we come back to savannah.
This was our first visit to Savannah and this apartment was the perfect location. Great location for walking in the historic area. The apartment had all we needed to be able to enjoy morning coffee outside before it got too hot, make some meals to save on costs, and very comfortable bed. Mary was always available by text and answered very quickly to our questions. We plan on returning to see more of the area and would stay here again.
My husband and I recently stayed at this property for 2 nights on our babymoon. It was so comfy and cute! All the amenities were available within the property and it truly felt like you were staying in a piece of Savannah's historic charm. The bed.....the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! Being 7 months pregnant, I don't think I could have found a bed that gave me such a good night's sleep as the one in this property. So much better than a hotel bed! The location was great....not too far from Mrs. Wilkes' where we ate lunch and not too far from Forsyth Park. I would highly recommend this property if you want a change from your typical hotel experience. We would definitely stay again!
The rental was just as advertised. Very clean and in a great area. All that Savannah has to offer is just a short stroll away. Parking was good and the outdoor space great. We plan to stay here on our next trip to Savannah!
We were very surprised at all the small stuff that we didn't have to shop for that gets expensive,ie. sugar, spices filters and detergent. Parking was easy on the street. Walked every where. The apartment was central to River street and Forsyth Park and the market could be accessed on foot if need be. Can not say enough good things about this place. The only downside would be footsteps from upstairs on occasion.
We had a great experience staying at this apartment!! Everything in the apartment was nice and in good condition. I also felt very secure in the apartment and because of previous correspondence with the apartment manager (nothing out of the ordinary just setting up the stay and getting the key information) I felt confident that if I had any issues I could easily get in contact with her. The policies for staying there, checking in, checking out and getting access to the apartment were all easy to follow and explained well. The location is perfect! Its close enough to where you can easily walk to all of the sights downtown Savannah has but far enough away to where you do not have to deal with paying to park. I will definitely try to stay here again for all future visits to Savannah!
My family and I had a very nice time in Savannah. This was our first visit and we really enjoyed the stay. Everything was at walking distance. No needs of moving our car. We like the cozy back patio. The lessor was easily accessible and helpful. We will stay here again!
We loved this apartment and the location wasn't too far from the river. Quiet neighborhood, we felt safe and the apartment was just as described and comfortable. It was us and our two kids, so the dining table only had two chairs but owner said they had recently taken out the stools that could have been used around the table. Little touches like coffee filters, coffee (we forgot that), trash bags, laundry detergent. It felt like we were staying at a friends place. It's perfect for two or four. We will rent it again for sure.
This was our 25th anniversary trip and first visit to Savannah. This wonderful apartment was absolutely perfect! Jones street is gorgeous! We were able to walk everywhere! Parking was just outside the property and we never had a problem finding a space. We felt very safe here. The bed was very comfortable and the outside patio was great for relaxing. Check in and out was a breeze. Mary was easily accessible and answered all our questions! We will stay here again!
Loved our Historic District Apt. on Jones Street in Savannah. Was convenient to most everything we needed. The apt. was large enough for the 4 of us. It had a wonderful garden patio where we spent a lot of time. The kitchen is updated and had everything, including coffee. Parking was plentiful, which is a plus for street side parking. We were able to walk to most places. I would highly recommend this apt. and would stay here again. Only thing we needed was more ice! Sarah
The place is very convenient, excellent location, minutes from historic district. Nice patio to have a breakfast. Apartment is very clean, nice furniture, good bed, lights everywhere, very quiet. Instructions are very helpful, everything from entrance to check-out details are clear to follow. Savannah is wonderful. Thank you Mary for your thoughtful care.
Wonderful location. So quiet. Great back porch and super cozy bed. I parked my car feet from the door and left it there for my entire stay. No matter which direction you walk adventure and Savannah charm await. I will be back very soon. Thanks Mary!
We stayed in this quaint apartment for three nights and wished we would have booked for longer! It is just the perfect place, decorated nicely and close to everything! This was our first visit to the city and we love it! Very beautiful and friendly locals. Two places that we visited and recommend are Bonaventure Cemetery and Fort Pulaski near Tybee Beach. If you go to Tybee, make sure to eat at Sundae Cafe! Doesn't look like much from the outside, but nice atmosphere inside and really good food! We will definitely return to Savannah and stay here again. Had a great time and highly recommend this property!
This place was excellent! We were very much pleased by the cleanliness, location and the ease that it afforded us. The owner was extremely accommodating and approachable! Her response to any questions was timely. Savanna is a wonderful city. We love the history and the tours.
Staying in this vacation flat was one of our better decisions. The location was perfect for exploring all that Savannah offers. We choose to walk much of the city, but we were just minutes from the visitor center and organized tours. This apartment became our "home away from home!" Everything within the apartment was spic and span clean. The kitchen and bath have been updated and the bedroom was extremely comfortable. The owner was absolutely wonderful. We couldn't have designed our Savannah home base any better. It was the perfect combination of historic district and modern comforts. We plan to stay at this same flat again next year!
We stayed 5 days and walked all over lovely Savannah. We lucked into an Art Festival, and the food and wine Festival. We ate at the District Café and had the best soup, sandwiches and coffee. Another day, we lined up to try Mrs. Wilkes just down the street. the wait was so worth it. food was tasty, concept novel and staff extremely friendly. The flat had everything we could have wanted and being able to do a load of laundry after being on the road for 10 days was wonderful. This place was quiet, easy to access, and Mary was so helpful. Would stay again
We enjoyed our very first trip to Savannah. The location of this rental is excellent. We parked our car right outside the door & never moved it until we checked out. We walked all around the city. We also toured the city through Old Town Trolleys. We were able to catch the trolley at a stop only a few blocks away (in front of the Cathedral). The apartment was bigger than we expected. The price was economical compared to the area hotels. We are so glad we chose this route instead of a hotel. Jones Street is truly the prettiest street in Savannah. Thanks for sharing your place with us. We will be back!
Condo was great and easy to find. A lot of reviews mention the parking as a problem, but we didn't have any issues parking on the street. Could walk everywhere. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Owner Response
Glad to see those comments, although I don't see many reviews for this listing mentioning the parking in any kind negative light. Perhaps this guest is referencing reviews on other Savannah properties. I'll just take the opportunity to expand on the topic. For this location the parking is really easy, the block only gets full/competitive during Church on Sunday as there is a church across the street. Even then the next block will have open spots and is steps away. The street does have sweeping times posted on signs: one side of this street gets cleaned in the middle of the night on Friday night, the other side gets cleaned at midnight on Saturday night. So on weekends you do have to switch sides to avoid a ticket, which has recently gone up to $15 (this ticket is issued if your car is in the way of the sweeper if you forget to move the car). The rest of the 5 days in the week you can park on both sides of this wide street for free and never have to move it. I think this parking situation is more convenient than the condos I manage that have a garage to park in, while the garage "off street" parking sounds good to first time guests, reality is that in the best case scenario you walk the equivalent of a block from the garage each time you park your car, whereas here at this listing you are normally less than half a block from your door if not right in front of it. You do not need a permit and do not have to keep up with a garage card. All of my repeat customers agree and when given the choice they stay here for ease of parking.
My daughter and I were very comfortable in the garden apartment on beautiful E. Jones Street. Many restaurants, attractions and even Kroger's were within walking distance. Kroger's and some other spots necessitated taking a cab back, but fares were very reasonable. Mary was very accommodating and truly went beyond her duties to see that we lacked for nothing. Highlights of our trip included the Bonaventure Cemetery and the musical Jukebox at the Savannah Theater. All guides were amazingly knowledgeable in their presentations. Memorable restaurants included Clary's and Rocks down by the river. DOT (free, public transportation) was utilized a few times without disappointment. If I were to go again, it would be later in the fall or earlier in the spring. It was just a bit to warm for us! Thanks, Mary, and happy renting!
My husband and I stayed at this apartment for an anniversary celebration for a four-day weekend and really loved this apartment as well as the location! Everything we needed was provided and we plan to stay here again! Be prepared to walk but who could complain when the area is so beautiful! Dinner at Alligator Soul, breakfast at Clary's and our favorite bar 1790 made this the perfect celebration! Thank you Mary!!!
Charming apartment in the heart of the historic district and in walking distance to most all key historic sites. The apartment was nicely furnished, very clean, and had so many extras it felt just like home but better. The apartment is also on the ground floor, extremely nice for carrying in luggage. Also ample parking right on the street. I will return again in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay at this one bedroom apartment on Jones Street. Mary was extremely easy to work with and the apartment had everything we were looking for. We were really able to enjoy the city and we walked everywhere. Not once did we drive around. Even walking to the restaurants by the river did not feel far at all because of the sites around us. Savannah is a beautiful place and this apartment was perfect for my wife and I to enjoy everything that Savannah had to offer. What a great stay. Thank you, Mary.
We loved everything about the garden apartment! It actually surpassed what we had hoped for when we booked it, providing everything we needed. I even took advantage of the washer/dryer before we left for our next destination. We were especially happy that we were able to stay in the Savannah historic district. It added so much to the experience. Jones Street is beautiful and we enjoyed evening walks through the historic area. It was a bonus that there were neighborhood restaurants within an easy walk. We enjoyed meals at the Firefly Cafe and the Crystal Beer Palace. We would have frequented Clary's as well but were eager to set off exploring Savannah each morning which we were able to do on foot! Even the walk to River Street did not seem that far especially with so much history to absorb along the way. We had wanted a place with a kitchen because we love to shop locally and cook up what we find. We were able to track down a grocery store (Kroger's) plus found the Parker's Market deli for breakfast fare. Best of all was the Savannah Farmers Market! We shopped there early, then tracked down the FraLi Gourmet shop for more fixings. The pasta dinner was scrumptious and even better that we could enjoy it "al fresco" on the patio. Parking was ample, as indicated, with no worries from traffic. As it turned out, we only used the rental car a couple of times during our stay, but did need it to go to our next destination. It made us feel like we were "at home" while away from home and gave us a better sense of Savannah itself.
Nice apartment, great location
This is a cozy apartment in a fantastic location. Safe neighborhood with great parking. There is plenty of room for two and you've got options: front room has street view and tv; bedroom is private, also with a little tv; nice little kitchen; fantastic courtyard--ceiling fans abound. If you've got bikes you can move all over the city with ease--a bike lane is just a few yards out the door. Groceries are minutes away by bike or on foot. Squares and parks are right at hand and you can be on Tybee enjoying beach life in 30 easy minutes by car. Mary was friendly and helpful in setting up the reservation and handling any eventualities. The apartment is not luxurious but it is sound and clean with good features: considering value, location, and the ease of working with Mary it's hard not to give this vrbo five stars.
My husband and I stayed in the Jones Street Garden apartment for 1 week, we loved the location, we were able to walk almost everywhere. Savannah is a beautiful city, would be very happy to return. Mary was very easy to work with. Apartment had everything you needed to have a great stay.
My family and I (2 adults, 2 kids) had a great time staying in this rental. It's centrally located, walking distance from everything downtown. The place has a lot of remodeling/updates - we were very happy with everything. I would recommend to anyone!
The photographs accurately reflected the appearance and amenities of the property. It was clean and well maintained. Very relaxing and the patio was delightful. Savannah is a beautiful city so warm and friendly. There are so many great restaurants within walking distance. Some were Clary's, B Matthews, Cha Bella, Firefly. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and can't wait to return. Mary was so helpful and always available. I recommend this rental to all my friends and family. Q
I rented this apartment for my wedding weekend in Savannah. From before we even arrived for our stay, Mary was extremely accomodating! Once we entered the apartment, I couldn't get over how cute and spacious the place was. Decor is very tasteful, every room was spotless and I loved all the extra touches to make it feel like home. The rental has everything you could need for a short or long stay. Location was great and parking was never an issue. My fiance (now husband) and I LOVED the outdoor patio area in the back. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Savannah area.
Spending six nights and five full days in Savannah was a great winter getaway. When we arrived at the garden apartment we found it to be exactly what your website said it would be. It is clean and well kept, everything there that you need, and on a beautiful street. Parking was never a problem although we did not move the car more than about once a day. We walked to sixteen of the twenty two squares (drove to the other six), to Forsythe Park, to Mass at the cathedral, and to the grocery store. We also visited River Street, Tybee Island, Fort Pulaski, Old Fort Jackson, and Bonaventure Cemetary. Thank you for a great place to return to each evening for a refreshment and relaxation.
This was the first time in the downstairs Jones Street apartment and about our 100th time using Mary as out rental agent. The apartment was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. My fiance and I were looking to spend New Years Eve in Savannah and normally make the trip with friends; this time around, we wanted some time to ourselves. The Jones Street Garden Apartment couldn't have been more perfect. It was the perfect size to be accommodating yet not overwhelming for just the two of us. Mary has decorated the place beautifully, provided everything you could need, and is always there for you if anything is missing or awry (which it never has been). We had another wonderful stay in Savannah and an amazing New Years to remember!
My parents and I recently stayed at this rental over the holidays. The place was very clean and decorated nicely. There was everything we needed in the kitchen. The location was great although it was a short walk to the "downtown" area but this was fine with us ad we like to walk and enjoyed walking through the neighborhoods with the beautiful, historic homes. Parking was always easily available just outside the door.
Owner Response
I am so happy to receive a good review from this family! I always hope that our property will be good enough for each guest and especially since this was a busy time I am so happy this group was satisfied with the accommodations.
My wife Julie and my son Kevin had a wonderful time with me in this well preserved historical neighborhood on our way to Florida. This garden apartment is very clean and super convenient in location, and the hostess and the cleaning lady are very helpful and friendly. Thank you, Mary! We surely would like to come back again and again.
Owner Response
So glad these guests loved the location! I spent a couple of days showing property to this family (who, like many brilliant people love Savannah and might retire here) and at the end of our adventure they told me my house on Jones was the best property of all. I am sure they were just being nice but it was fun and they were amazing. And anyone who wants to look at real estate please let me know and I will take you around town. I am a Realtor and I specialize in investment property! And I love this city and I love helping people find a piece of it to call their own.
If you want to see Savannah and walk the historic district you should stay in this lovely town home. It is beautiful and couldn't have been more perfect for our stay in Savannah. We enjoyed the well decorated and modern property. All the charm of the historic district with all the modern touches. Mary was incredibly helpful and the place was spotless when we arrived. We couldn't have asked for more.
Owner Response
Again, this was a rare "long" stay; this guest stayed a week. We have so many shorter stays I am very glad to see the place was comfortable for a longer visit.
My husband and I stayed here this past weekend. There is a lot of charm in this lil gem! We were very pleased with everything & the owner was VERY accommodating. This apartment is in a great location and we walked everywhere. We took the owners suggestion on Clary's for breakfast and fell in love with the food & hospitality there. This space was perfect for the two of us. We will definitely be back soon! Thank You Mary, You are Wonderful!
Owner Response
Wow thanks for such a great review!! This guest was a chef and made dinner for several friends who were not staying with her so I brought her a folding table to use on the patio. I try to do what I can to help people who have special requests whenever I can.
Lovely accommodation in the historical district. I was there for a month and it felt like home. Everything I needed was provided and I walked EVERYWHERE. Two thumbs up. Thank you, Mary.
Owner Response
Our longest EVER stay at this garden apartment since we offered it as a VRBO! So glad it was a success.
The apartment is as discribed. Perfect for a couple on vacation. Very nice and neat. Parking is in front of the appartment. Beaware of the Saturday night street sweeping laws or you will find a $15 ticket on your car window on Sunday moring. It is in the rule book in the appartment. Savannah is a wonderful city to explor and Tybee island lighthouse is a must see.
Owner Response
So many people have asked me about street cleaning after reading this review, I will explain further: One side of Jones Street gets cleaned Friday night and the other Saturday night. It's a 3 hour period in the middle of the night. Signs are posted with exact times for each side. If you forget and leave your car on that side you get a $15 ticket. Which the city will dismiss if you only get one during your visit, just call them. You do NOT get towed. And it's very easy to just move your car to the other side of the street to avoid the sweep night. No street cleaning happens on Jones the other days of the week. The cross street Price now has a lane of parking as well! Parking is incredibly easy at this house.
Loved staying here. Made me feel like I was at home! Small but perfect for our family of 3. We really enjoyed the outside patio. The only problem is the bathtub didn't drain well while we were there. Can't complain everything was neat, tidy and clean. Within walking distance to several sightings. Would stay here again if we come back to Savannah.
Owner Response
The bathtub is normally in perfect working order. If the bathtub drains slowly for any future guests please call us so we can come unclog it. We do not get these reviews for days after they are written so it's not the best way to tell us about minor maintenance needs. If you don't want to be bothered during your trip (we do understand that sometimes you want to be left in peace) just let us know about any issues and ask us to wait until you check out to come in to fix them. It helps us when guests alert us to problems and the sooner we know the better.
We have been staying at vacation rentals for the past 10 years... this rental was one of the best we have ever stayed at. It had one of the most complete kitchens we have ever used... The rental was spotless & at a prime location. We wish we could have stayed longer than the 2 nights.
Owner Response
Thanks! This is also one of the best reviews I have ever received!
We really felt like we were part of Savannah. The location on Jones Street was great. We could walk everywhere. The walk to the riverfront took less than 1/2 hour. Parking was on the street, right in front of the building, so convenient and never a problem finding a spot. The apartment was clean and the bed was comfortable. The building was charmingly old, really giving the feeling of staying in old Savannah. The back patio was a great place to relax with morning coffee or an evening cocktail. The ceiling fan above the patio kept it nice and cool even on hot days. There were a number good restaurants that you could easily walk to. We would highly recommend this rental.
We were fortunate to find this wonderful one bedroom apartment to stay in while in savannah for our daughter's graduation from SCAD. We love Savannah & have visited often while she was here over the past 3 years. We needed a comfortable place for all of us to stay in & we were so happy to be able to entertain other guests in the wonderful garden patio! Mary is the best! She takes care of any details & you can really feel that southern hospitality! The location is prime! We walked everywhere & had wonderful breakfasts just two blocks away in a corner cafe that she recommends! Comfortable! Clean! Perfect location! It has it all!!!!!!!
Owner Response
Thank you SO MUCH for such a generous review. Come back any time and remember my new website savannahluxuryrentals.com for when you need something more than a 1-Bedroom
Propert is very well represented by pictures and description. It is clean and much more comfortable than a motel. There is a bit of a walk to City Market and River Street, but we enjoyed the walks each day. Clary's Cafe is a couple of blocks away and was great for an inexpensive breakfast. We enjoyed Crystal Beer Parlor down on W JonesSt for lunch although you don't hear as much about it. It was a hidden gem.Tybee Lighthouse and Ft Pulaski were also a great trip about 20 minutes away.
We stayed only one night on our way to Florida, then again on the way home. Apartment was very convenient, clean and comfortable. Though we were not there long enough to use all of it's advantages it is nicely set up for a longer stay.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is just outside of the historic district but easily accessible to all places in Savannah. Nicely decorated and well-kept. Very clean. Used the bedroom and pullout bed. Both were adequate.
Owner Response
Just to clarify, this address is within the official boundary of the Historic District not "just outside" it as this review states. This person must be referring to the heavily trafficked commercial area of the Historic District, which we are slightly removed from by about 0.3 miles. Jones Street is more of a residential street, particularly this block which means parking is actually easy which is a good thing for anyone who wants to use their car during their stay. Some streets in the Historic District are nearly all stores, restaurants and bars. If you would like to stay in the center of the commercial area please call me as I do have several rentals on Broughton Street.
We had a wonderful time in this delightful and well located apartment. Mary was very helpful in setting this up. My husband and myself felt very comfortable. The bed was great and the kitchen well appointed. The bathroom was clean. It's an old building so you can't expect an absolutely new look. We loved our time there. We felt bad the weather wasn't good enough to go out and enjoy the lovely patio.
Perfect location. Easy walk to everything. No issues with parking. Only thing missing is a grill.
Owner Response
While a grill is not in our future for various reasons (feel free to bring your own, just use it in the open patio area and don't burn our house down please) we constantly upgrade this rental. Since we launched the listing on VRBO approximately 2 years ago we have upgraded the bed from a Queen to a King, then totally remodeled the bathroom with all new fixtures head to toe, added extras to the kitchen (blender, spice rack, etc.) and added a whole new dining area to expand the living space even more. We try to surprise guests with more than they are expecting, and usually it works :)
The townhome was very clean and decorated nicely. We were able to walk to most places, very close to Forsyth Park. Mary was very accomodating especially since our two night stay was kinda planned last minute. She also left us a bottle of wine which was a nice touch. Patio was nice, don't be surprised if a cat drops in to visit while sitting out there. We also had one follow us home one night and he seemed to enjoy the patio as well as he stayed out there all night!

Now that's the kind of title I am trying to get on my reviews, thank you SO much. I have noticed other guest comments in our book about the cat. I am sorry about that but I assure everyone with allergies/aversions that there have never been any cats inside. A neighbor's outdoor cat seems to love our patio and has great fence climbing skills! We have someone blow off the patio weekly and he blows off the furniture with a high powered machine to clean the cushions.
My son, dtr in law and I stayed for 4 nites over the New Year at this comfortable, well appointed 1 bedroom w/fold out couch in the living room, and we had a wonderful time. The king bed was soooo comfortable, and my son and dtr in law stated the sofa bed was also. We walked almost everywhere, even though it was chilly during the day, cold at night. We had everything we needed during our stay except for groceries, and wine of course... I had my coffee each morning on the back patio w/the sun keeping me warm, a wonderful start to my day. And, we had our champagne cheers on that patio during the evening of New Year's Eve, before heading down to River Street to bring in the New Year. The historic district, Bonaventure Cemetery, a meal at the Pirate's House, walking through the squares, a carriage ride, etc, etc. shouldn't be missed. The fireworks on the River was awesome, and the music wherever we were was wonderful. Thank you Mary for offering a great place for us to come and visit Savannah. Even though we didn't meet, I enjoyed talking w/you on the phone before our visit.

Great! Thank you for addressing the comfort of the pullout bed. I get asked about it frequently and having not slept on it myself I just tell people it is new and brand-name but still a sofa bed. This review should reassure those who plan to use the sleeper sofa that is indeed comfortable. And despite the cold weather I am so glad you enjoyed that patio!
The renovations are poorly done and the window in the bathroom was thick with dirt , the bathroom tub fixture was so flimsy when you left the knob for the shower the hold spicket liffted. The water pressure was low in shower and there needs to be better lighting in the bathroom for makeup/shaving and etc. Also there needs to be some soundproofing between the upstairs and downstairs units. I could hear everything upstairs and when we were there a large party with small running children ran for the whole time we were there. They got up early running and went to bed running which made it not so relaxing for us. The kitchen door looks nasty and as if someone forgot to paint it. I love character but clean looking character. The other complaint I had was there are no comfortable seats in the house. The chairs are weak at the dining table area, the light had blown in there so it was dark, the couch nor the chairs in the living room area are very comfortable for long term siting. The location was great and Savannah was a beautiful city. I also think an outside grill would be nice to make available for the downstair renter. I hope you can appreciate some of my constructive criticism but as a 57 year old person when renting for a week cleanliness and comfort are really important factors. As is I would not recommend to anyone.

Considering the long history of happy guests we've had in this property, I am saddened and surprised to read this review. The previous week my own parents stayed in this apartment as they do regularly. They too prize cleanliness and comfort and they said they loved the newly renovated bathroom. The newly installed tub filler did need to stabilized inside the wall. It was not flimsy it was just brand new and the movement this guests noticed (which did not affect function) has been corrected. Had I been contacted by this guest about anything at all, for example the bulb being out in the dining room, I would have been right over to fix the problem. The sofa has had rave reviews from everyone else who has mentioned it. The love seat in the bedroom has been complimented regarding its comfort as well. And the wooden dining chairs were chosen because a local restaurant, The Starland Cafe, uses them. I know that noise from upstairs is not normally a problem because if it was then every reviewer would mention it. In fact, we lived upstairs full time with our own small child for a year in 2010 while renting this apartment on VRBO and received no complaints about noise, had repeat guests and all good reviews- as you can see further down the list- during that time. This reviewer's stay was over Dec 25 and there was very cold weather which probably kept both the upstairs guests (who did have young children excited for Christmas) and this downstairs guest indoors more than usual. We indeed do not have a grill, as was disclosed to this guest directly and on the listing- that choice is for safety reasons primarily. Immediately after reading this review we did go to clean the window and door and found them to be not dirty but not as freshly painted as the rest of the apartment. The window is original from 1875 so it has some imperfections. We sanded both items down and repainted them. I'm glad that (even under the scrutiny of this particular guest) one door and one window were the only unclean looking items since cleaning is our biggest focus. And even this person who had mostly negative feedback admitted our location is great. I live less than 5 miles away and can attend to anything easily and I care a lot about keeping things nice.
We arrived in Savannah and found the house in perfect condition. It is tastefully decorated, secure and conveniently located! The apartment was sparkling clean. Upon arrival, we set out on foot and found some wonderful shops and restaurants just around the corner. Our bed was very comfortable and the location was quiet despite it's convenience. The owner was attentive to our needs and very helpful with recommendations regarding places to go and things to see. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. We would strongly recommend this property and intend to make this our regular spot when travelling to Savannah!

Thanks!
Two middle aged ladies on their annual get-a-way. This was our first time to Savannah and what a wonderful experience we had. The apartment is exactly as the pictures show, such a lovely place, on a lovely street, and the patio is such an asset to the apartment. We walked everywhere except the grocery store. The Trolleys are so much fun and the Guides (drivers) make the ride even more enjoyable by throwing their personalities into telling the history of the City. We definitely recommend the "Walking Foody Tour". We were there for one week and couldn't even begin to get everything there is to do done in that time, we are definitely coming back and hopefully that will be next year. Loved the apartment and the City. We highly recommend this apartment!
This was perfect for what I was looking for. I stayed in the aprtment alon a couple of nights then was met by my husband and kid for the last couple. I felt part of Savannah being in the Historic District. It was a very accessible location to the river and restaurants. Having a bike there was also a great way to get around. Working with Mary while renting the appartment was a delight. She was always accessible and willing to share any information about what to do during our stay. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. I loved sitting on the back patio on the afternoon. I would definately stay here again.
This was our second time staying at this lovely apartment. We loved it so much the first time, we came back! It is very clean and well maintained. We were able to walk everywhere. We were able to walk downtown to Riverstreet and City Market. We love Mrs. Wilkes, which is on this same street (and yes we ate there this time)!! Also, Clary's is just around the corner...great breakfast place! This trip was for our anniversary and it was wonderful. It was so nice coming "home" after a long day out. We stayed here in January and were not able to sit on the back porch...too cold for me :-) This time, we were able to sit out back both evenings and enjoy it. Thanks for opening up your home to us! We will be back!
This was one of the best vrbo vacation's we've had (we've used vrbo approximately 6 times so far). The place was adorable, and better than expected. Mary, the owner, was extremely easy to work with, very accommodating, and super kind. I've recommended this place to my mother... she'll love it just as much as we did! Overall an excellent experience!!! Thank you Mary!!!!
The ground floor unit was just what we needed. The owner was most accommodating with our last minute request to stay there. King bed was comfortable, kitchen was very handy, pull out sleeper sofa was great for our son, and we felt very safe in the area. This unit had exactly what we needed for a quick getaway. Thanks Mary!
My husband and I stayed here for our Wedding Anniversary. We had such a lovely trip, and the apartment was perfect for us! Very nicely decorated, and convenient to all of the historic district. There was a Kroger and a beverage store within walking distance. We were able to walk to River Street and enjoy Savannah's lovely squares. The apartment is about a 20 minute drive to Tybee Island, and we visited the beach one afternoon. We had breakfast each morning on the lovely patio before starting our day. The bed was comfortable, and the washer and dryer were new and worked perfectly for washing our beach towels. Jones Street truly is a one of the prettiest streets in Savannah, and we certainly enjoyed having this apartment to come home to during our trip! Mary was a pleasure to work with, and was prompt to answer emails and phone calls. Thanks Mary!
This apartment was perfect for my small group (3 people) in Savannah. Wonderfully located, cutely decorated. The covered patio was a blessing on a couple stormy afternoon. Comfy bed AND comfy sofa bed (always an unexpected plus). I would certainly stay again if I found myself in Savannah!
This was our first visit to Savannah and we had a great time. We walked everywhere we went and enjoyed the beautiful landscape of Jones St and the surrounding streets. The apartment was just as it was described. Mary was very accomodating and helpful answering all our questions. We ate at Clarys both mornings for breakfast. It was very good. We took The Old Time Trolley all day on and off tour and saw many historical sites. We plan on going back and will try to stay here again.
Good location, easy access and comfortable accommodations for two. Enjoyed the eateries and sights within easy walking distance of the property. Had a great meal at Elizabeth on 37th and made a quick trip to Tybee and Fort Pulaski as well as the museums and walking tours of the squares and architectural highlights of historic downtown Savannah.
We rented a garden apartment on Jones St, which was voted by Southern Living and Better Homes and Gardens as the "Prettiest Street in America". Both the apartment and the street were impressive. The apartment had a lot of amenities and the location allowed us to walk to everything. The car did not move until the 4th day when we ventured out to Bonaventure Cemetery. The pictures of the property gave a good sense of the property. It was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. The owner was very easy to deal with and promptly responded to any questions that we had.
Excellent place! We had an amazing family getaway in Savannah for 5 days. The garden apartment was beyond perfect and located on such a great street for walking. Everything was in great working order and I slept so good in the oversized king bed. So comfortable! It truely was better than any hotel and the owner was wonderful to work with and always available. If your looking for a comfortable, good location Jones St is the place to stay. We will be back for sure!
Owner Response
Thanks for reviewing the apartment! So glad that you enjoyed your stay and that St. Patrick's Day was a good time.
With all of the rave reviews, we had high expectations. We thought the apartment was fine, nothing more. Centrally located but not the quaint part of Jones St. The photos were accurate, but there were a couple things not captured by the photos: the water pressure is bad (you can't flush the toilet or take a shower if the washer is on), the dryer took 3 runs to dry our clothes, the shower curtain had mold, and there's no dining area. We enjoyed our stay but it wasn't at the standard we expected for nearly all 5 star reviews.
Owner Response
We have had so many extremely happy guests and that is certainly how we want everyone to feel! Since this review we have completed the bathroom renovation. The entirely new fixtures (tub/shower, vanity, toilet, light and mirror) are gorgeous. The dryer, which was less than 6 months old, has been upgraded to the fastest model available and a higher end washer is also in place to ensure the best laundry experience possible. I think all the other guests' reviews being more "stars" is a reflection of the overall value, cleanliness, and convenience of this apartment as well as the memory of a genuinely pleasant stay. PS we have now opened up a bonus room and made it into a dining room.
Visited Savannah for an anniversary weekend getaway and to participate in the Rock 'n Roll Marathon. Location was perfect for the race events as well as sightseeing in the historical district. Convenient to restaurants, entertainment and grocery -- we walked everywhere. All the luxuries of a fine hotel with a wonderful at home feel. Kitchen was complete with items we needed for a picnic in the park. Loved that we had space to spread out and the use of the washer and dryer were extremely helpful in not having to pack sweaty race gear in the suitcase! Homeowners were very helpful and accommodating -- I recommend this to everyone and I can not wait to return!
I really enjoyed my week at Mary’s lovely apartment. I had a great time in Savannah. This was the perfect location (as I did not have a car)! It truly is within walking distance of everything in the Historic District. The apartment was just as advertised, clean, convenient, comfortable. Having a washer and dryer was fantastic. And Mary was the perfect landlord - so helpful but not intrusive. She even helped me to get a battery for my camera! The apartment is a very comfortable home away from home. Thanks, Mary!

Thank you so much for the good review! It was truly a pleasure having you.
My husband and I just returned from a wonderful three night stay at this property. The location was absolutely perfect. Easy walk to anywhere in Savannah's historic district. The unit was charming and very, very quiet. The owner compiled a little book with maps, brochures, restaurant recommendations etc...We will return to Savannah again. This will be our first choice in lodging.
We just stayed at this lovely garden apartment for our honeymoon and it was fabulous! If you want to stay somewhere and really feel Savannah this is the place. This was our first trip to Savannah. The location is absolutely wonderful for a quiet couples retreat. This place is on the most beautiful street in the South. It is close enough to walk to anything in the historic district but far enough away from the traffic and busy streets to really relax. Clary's Cafe is just a couple of blocks over and we ate breakfast there every morning. Delicious! There's also a Kroger very close in case you need to get anything to whip up in the kitchen. Also, parking was not a problem for us. It is on the street but we always got to park right out front and it was very convenient. Mary was great to work with and we will definitely look at staying here again for our anniversaries!
My husband and I had a great time in Savannah GA, thanks to the great Garden Apartment on Jones Street. It was very clean and close to everything. We ate alot of good food and walked the calories away. So much to see will have to come back and we will definitely stay here when we do. Thanks Mary. May 2011
My cousin and I stayed at this garden apt. during a 2 day girls trip to Savannah. The apt. exceeded our expectations...beautifully furnished and decorated, a kitchen with everything you could need, close to everything and quiet. Jones St. is just beautiful and we enjoyed walking the downtown area. Mary was a pleasure from booking to our departure. I will be visiting Savannah again soon and will definitely stay here again. Thank you Mary for a wonderful stay. Tabitha & Monica - Orlando

This is exactly how we want our guests to feel about staying here!
Stayed in this beautiful garden apartment in April. The house is in the historic district and is decorated beautifully. They were building a court yard which will be great to sit and have morning coffee. We drove to Savannah but just parked our car and was able to walk to the main street in Savannah (3/4 mi) and 1 mile to the riverfront. Mary had maps and recommendations for places to visit and eat which were all great. Walked down Habersham street to the main street. Had lots of beautiful historic homes and there were parks along the way so you could rest or just enjoy the scenery. By doing all the walking could justify having ice cream at Leopolds (think that was the name) on the main street. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and Mary was kind enough to leave a bottle of champagne in the frig for us to enjoy. We felt very safe walking at night, nice neighborhood. Ate at the Firefly restaurant (which Mary recommended) which was just 1/4 mile from house. Very small venue but great food and good service. Definitely would recommend staying here and we will definitely stay again on our next visit to Savannah.

It was such a pleasure having you and our patio is now finished and is gorgeous so you must come stay with us again and enjoy it! This is an ideal city for people like you who love walking and we are so glad you found our garden apartment to be convenently located
My parents and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay on beautiful Jones Street! The apartment was immaculate, and the kitchen was equipped with everything possible. The location is quiet, yet close enough to all of the attractions, historical features, and shopping -- easily within walking distance. The owner had also supplied us with a binder of information regarding local restaurants, shopping, and activities. Great apartment!!
Owner Response
We are so pleased that you and all the guests so far have been happy with the apartment! Offering the garden level as a vacation rental is genuinely fun for us and we are so glad the cleanliness, furnishings and decor have been exceeding expectations thus far.
We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment during our long Savannah weekend! Everything is so easy to get to from here, including Tybee Beach (just a short 30 minute drive away). Everything you'd like to see is within walking distance and Jones Street is beautiful. The apartment was great as well with plenty of room for both of us and our six month old. Mary was incredibly helpful and even loaned us a pack-and-play for our child. This was definitely above and beyond what we expected. The guidebook provided helped us to find some great places to visit along with giving us the "essentials" like where to find the Kroger! We would definitely consider staying here again if we ever want to see more of Savannah...and there would be so much more considering how much there is there.

My daughter and I stayed here on our first visit to Savannah. I knew right away that we had the prime location for the area. Beautiful tree lined streets perfect for walking. We walked almosty everywhere we went. It is close to Forsyth Park, the Colonial Cemetary, River Street, and a short drive to Bonaventure Cemetary as well as Tybee Island and Skidaway Island. The apartment is tastefully decorated and very clean. Mary was a dleight and very helpful with local information. We could not be happier with our stay. Patty and SHerria
My husband and I have spent a recent overnight at 505 East Jones Street Garden Level and have found the same peace and quiet of our other visits there. It is especially nice to unload our luggage at the curb and roll it right through the front door with no stairs to climb either coming or going. Once inside we are met with the interesting details of this historic building and its lovely antique fireplace mantels, massive moldings and the rare heart pine floors of another era, all carried through in perfect harmony with the upper levels which the young owners occupy. The owners share their artistic skills in their use of colors in decorating and in the variety of artwork displayed throughout. Combined with the fascination of the neighborhood and its multiplicity of restaurants and sightseeing opportunities, it is, for us, a perfect place to begin a new round of explorations and events. Among other things, we love to walk along the cobblestone pathways by the Savannah River where there are shops and eateries and often a massive tanker making its way through the water in this increasingly important port city. It is just one of many ways to enjoy the convenience and comforts of this "close-in" location.
Great location...comfy bed
If you want to visit Savannah, Mary's property is in a great location. Parking is on the street and free which is very hard to find in Savannah. I was in Savannah for a conference at a local hotel near River Street ($22/night valet parking on top of the room rate or park at a private lot for $16/day)) and Mary's property is only a little over 2 miles away. My wife and I brought our bikes and the ground floor apartment with side access to a private back patio worked perfectly to keep our bikes without dealing with stairs or bringing them inside. I would bike to the meeting every morning and come back at lunch. The patio was our lunch and late afternoon chill-out location. The street is very quiet and safe. My wife found the King sized bed very comfortable and slept great. We are not TV watchers so the prior reports of the small screens were of no concern. If you are going to Savannah to binge watch your favorite show then stay at a hotel with a 52" screen but if you are going in order to experience Savannah then you will not be disappointed with this location. We recommend going to Tybee and getting some serious beach time and, if you love to bike, travel to the Spanish Moss Rail2Trail in Port Royal, SC.
Excellent place to stay
This is an excellent, quiet, quaint little apartment for anyone looking to stay a few days/nights in Savannah. Mary;s place is just far enough away from the craziness of the party atmosphere and just close enough to pedi-cab, Uber, or even walk to the heart of the city. I would recommend this lovely place anytime.
Great! Great! Great!
All I can say is Great, Great, Great. If this place reflects the rest of her properties. Book It . You won't go wrong. Quiet location, Close enough to enjoy what Savanna has to offer and far enough away when you just want to enjoy your time with that special someone. Thanks Mary
Full of Savannah Charm
The apartment is super adorable and has a lot of Savannah charm. Super comfortable stay with a great bed to conclude our nights after being in the heat all day. The apartment helped enhance our first visit to Savannah and I recommend staying here over a hotel. Also be sure to visit Clary’s a very good breakfast joint two blocks away for the apartment (walking distance).
