5 star review on Airbnb
This house was in a great location (you could walk to everything) and perfect for a relaxed girls' trip. The house was clean, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make simple meals at home. The master bedroom is really nice with a skylight (though it is bright, so if you are sensitive to light, make sure you bring an eye mask!), and the clawfoot tub in the second bathroom is really lovely (and all the towels were so plush). The hardwood floors throughout the home are beautiful. The back deck has two benches, but there's not a ton of space to hang out (and the back isn't too scenic), so we preferred to hang out on the front stoop (which was fun, because ghost tours kept passing the inn across the street). Parking in the back was no issue (you just have to leave one of the wooden gates open) and nearby street parking was also easy. I would definitely stay here again.
Great house. Tremendous location (5-10 minute walk to everything in historic district/river street) and plenty of space. Very helpful host. Parking onsite was very helpful, but it definitely is for small cars as it says in the listing. Overall, wonderful experience.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Douglas House. It has an historic feel and the location is superb with many restaurants and bars within a 10 minute walk. Owner was very responsive and had everything ready for us when we arrived. There is a parking space in back but it is for an economy/intermediate vehicle (not a surprise given it was built in 1853 for horse cart!) We had a large SUV and had to park in front but instructions on parking passes provided by the owner are comprehensive so we were able to sort this out quickly. It did not impact the great time we had in this beautiful home and I would highly recommend it.
Mary was an excellent hostess! Very quick to respond and her space is in an absolutely perfect location in the historic district. The home had all of the amenities and thoughtful touches you need for a comfortable stay.
