The bedroom has a Queen bed and 2 large closets. The newly renovated bathroom is en suite with a combo tub/shower. The spacious comfortable living room has a pullout sofa bed. We allow a maximum of 4 people here.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, granite countertops and front loader washer & dryer for your convenience.
There is one designated off-street parking space for your vehicle. For additional vehicles, parking is on-street and spots are easy to find at this location. Meters are best handled with a "Visitors Parking Day Pass" available to cover all day/night parking for travelers. The Pass is $15 per 24 hours or $24 per 48 hours as of 2018. This can be purchased from the Visitors Center on MLK, the Parking Services office on Bryan or the 17hundred90 Inn front desk at 302 E Presidents Street.

Our first time to Savannah & we loved the character of the house & the convenience of the location. The garden patio in the back was a peaceful coffee spot in the morning. Having a dedicated parking spot was fantastic & it was an easy walk to most everything!
Our stay was all that we hoped for! The Rue House Garden Apartment was in a great location, central to all Savannah has to offer, convenient with private parking, lover level apartment, no dragging suitcases up stairs and charming in every way! We enjoyed the peaceful back garden and having a full kitchen with laundry and a living room as well! I didn’t want to leave!
This is a great location and perfect for anyone traveling on a budget. Keep in mind you will hear everything the people staying upstairs say and do on their “first floor”, even their microwave beeps. While this is in a great location and has parking, I would not stay here again. I’d spend a little more and stay upstairs or in a home that I am not sharing levels with others.
For brunch eat at Hueys on riverstreet and funky brunch! We skipped lunch most days but boars head was good... Dinner at Chive was our favorite along with Ruan Thai and Skylers. We did the hop on hop off tour and tbe prohibition tour both were nice ! But we enjoyed walking most of the time. The location of ths vrbo was great !

The property was lovely - clean well maintained and attractive. We looked forward to coming back to our apartment each evening after a day of sightseeing. We were well placed in the historic district.
310 Oglethorpe was a wonderful stay for our first visit to Savannah. Private parking behind the unit for one car was key - parking in Savannah can be a challenge. Apartment was well done with good layout - rear kitchen with full fridge and over/under washer dryer, well equipped kitchen but no wine opener (major bummer), ok bed, ok shower (tub style), very comfortable living room in the front. Only "issue" really is that front/living room is right on Oglethorpe which is a very busy and noisy street due mostly to traffic in the early morning. Logistics of renting, commuications, check-in/out were good.
My elderly mother, sister, and I were in Savannah to celebrate my brother's 30 years as Sr. Minister at IPC. We were only a short walk to the church and other downtown locations. The home is on the ground floor which was perfect for my mom who can't navigate stairs anymore. We had a delightful stay.
This was my first time using VRBO, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I LOVED having a full kitchen and a home vs a hotel room. This house is beautiful and more than the photos give credit for. It's close to everything and an easy and safe walk. It's in a quiet area, and the private courtyard is the icing on the cake. You don't get a private courtyrd to enjoy coffee in the mornings in a hotel! My daughter and I loved this house, and we will be back!
Had a great stay!!! Mary was very friendly and super responsive with all of my questions! Main bedroom was spacious and nice comfy bed. Sitting room was also well appointed and cozy. Only two minor suggestions, easy fixes:back gate door hinge was broken. Furnace was located in the main bedroom closet, which made a somewhat significant sound all night. Maybe do some sound proofing or replace with thicker closet doors. Everything else was fabulous! The outdoor patio was a nice touch as well. Would definitely stay here again!
The apartment was very nice & clean. Having a washer & dryer was very convenient. Wooden floors throughout. Can get a little noisy with the wooden floors in the upper apartment. You definitely will hear any noise from above from talking to walking. Patio was perfect for those mornings of sitting quietly drinking your coffee & maybe to read your favorite book. The bed is on the firmer side just in case you prefer soft. Location is perfect for getting around Savanna. Walking distance to everything. Overall it is a great place to stay.
Wanted to try staying in a quaint historical home with much cheaper pricing than hampton inn on bay we always stay out over the years. The appeal fits the bill, more room to live than a hotel room, wood flooring, brick walls and fireplace, built on kitchen at the step down entrance from the shared courtyard with upstairs townhome.have our own swing though, living room very comfortable for 3rd person to sleep, close to the squares without driving if you can walk good. Supplies were plentiful and thought out.. But, here's some nuisances to consider..The old wooden gate if shut can be difficult to open when you return, I could not get key to open front door from oglethorpe, always came back way from courtyard, when people did show upstairs it sounds like they are in next room when they move around and talk, apt is right across from police station which kept me up one night from sleeping on couch due to them dealing with some kind of trouble around 2-3 am but that might make you feel safe also. (living room is facing oglethorpe and the streets are right up to the Apt bldg which means you also hear traffic a lot and people walk by sometimes) and Colonial Cemetery across the street which has ghost stories assoc with it. But the ones who stayed in the bedroom had no worries and slept well. Due to older or original doors, there is an opening around the front and back doors that need to be sealed esp the back door to the courtyard where things could crawl in? (We just put a towel down), the shower head needs better pressure, and the coutyard could use some upkeep..also the kitchen has full glass windows and top of door with no curtains so you're exposed to Apts across street.. i know some things cant be helped but some things could.. Now that being said, the apt itself is lovely with charm from its era and loved having our own place with kitchen and W/D and plenty of storage yet still in historic district plus having your own parking spot right here is wonderful. So, again it's very nice charming place to stay!!
Please note that the kitchen window is mirrored (like tinted glass on a very important person's limousine) and impossible to see through from the outside. I am surprised this person did not notice that during her stay, but this is the owner's brilliant solution to allow the kitchen to feel open and have a full view of the courtyard from the kitchen yet there is also total privacy in terms of the neighbors seeing into the kitchen. This is one of the nicest historic home vacation rentals available and in one of the best locations. Many guests are able to find a list of imperfections in a historic property, and 150 year old homes may not be for everyone but the various sounds one might hear from other people and even the police station are not limited to this home as any prime location in our busy downtown will come with some city noise of that nature, even if you stay in a new construction downtown hotel.
The reviews are all spot on. The Rue House is phenomenal. It is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. We had planned on eating a couple meals here, but with so many awesome restaurants within walking distance we didn't use the kitchen much. Two of the best reasons to stay here are the available parking, and the location. We walked to everything. Don't hesitate, book this place, you won't regret it!
Wonderful place to stay in Savannah! Walked to all parts of the historic district. Lots of choices for bars and restaurants. We had a problem with the washing machine but the owners had it fixed and were very helpful! Thanks for allowing us to use your home to enjoy our time in Savannah.
This was everything we needed in a very central place to getting to see all there is to see in Savannah. The property itself was very clean and accommodating. The bed was VERY comfy and the full kitchen had everything we could ask for. I sat out back on the swing seat and enjoyed cocktails when I wasn't out exploring or eating/drinking with friends for the wedding I was there fore. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The location was ideal--centrally located in the historic district and easy walking distance to everything. Whether drinking coffee or wine on the porch swing in the private courtyard area or relaxing in the comfortable living room, we felt right at home. We would definitely stay here again in return trips to Savannah.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for our first vacation together. The perk that sold us on this property was the included parking spot. Having never been to Savannah, I did a walkthrough online on Google maps to see how close we were to everything. When we were actually there, I couldn't believe how close we were to everything. We were about a 15-20 minute walk from City Market and about the same from River Street. And the unit has ceiling fans! The bed was okay, a little too firm but decent. For the awesomeness: - Ceiling fans! We actually brought a box fan since we both need the noise and air flow to fall asleep but were pleasantly surprised. - All utensils were included. We only used the bowls, plates, silverware, cups and glasses. And the corkscrew. We'll get to the corkscrew in a moment. But we didn't actually cook there. - Coffee pot! - Decently clean! There were only a few things I wish were different - I can't call them negatives because it could happen anywhere: - There was a nail sticking up in the floor as soon as you enter the bedroom. Owwie. - The corkscrew was very flimsy, but hey, it got the job done. - There were only two washcloths that were out in the bathroom. We found the storage closet with the extras so all was fine. - The shower head didn't look like it had been cleaned in quite some time, or it was getting very old and the finish was flaking off. - The coffee pot looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for quite some time as well. I stuck it in the dishwasher the next to last day we were there. There were two uncomfortable situations that happened to us staying there as well. The first full day (12/16), we were in the kitchen getting our coffee and a man was out in the terrace. We figured he was in the upstairs apartment. (The windows in the kitchen are reflective. The only way someone could see in is if a light is on, which none were.) Finally, this man knocked on our back door in the kitchen. He said he was a painter and wasn't told anyone would be staying there. He said he left two drinks in the fridge and asked if he could have them. We obliged. Second, on that very same day, we got a knock as we were getting ready in the bedroom. A man said he needed to show the property and had no idea guests were there. We let him in except for the bedroom and bathroom. He was the owner of the 17hundred90 and told us to stop in for a drink, which we did. All in all, an excellenet vacation and we'll strongly consider stating here again!
We parked the car when we arrived and didn't need it the entire weekend! Our favorite restuarant and bar 17hundred90, was literally less than 1 minute from our back door to the bar...Very friendly place with a great menu! We met Forrest Gump at Cherokee Square and had a ball chatting with him...he did Forrest to a tee. The architecture and flora were amazing and the streets were relatively clean as far as cities go. We would rank Savannah as a definite bucket list location...Cheers, Dan & Anne
Great location and very clean. The place had everything we needed for our week long stay. All attractions were close in proximity and we walked everwhere. We would definitely stay here again. Minor detail but would like to see a new shower head for our next stay. Water pressure was a little low and hard water build up probably contributed to this.
This apartment is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need for your stay in Savannah. It is centrally located and easy walking distance to all of the wonderful sights of the city. The owners are fabulous. We were there during Hurricane Matthew and they made sure that everything was okay for us. The beautiful woodwork and exposed brick make this a superb apartment. And, of course, the washer and dryer made it so easy to keep everything clean. There is a bit of traffic noise in the living room because the apartment is on a busy street, but this is to be expected. Also, the fire department is just down the block and when they go out, the sirens and horns are blaring. Overall, however, this is a wonderful rental.
This property is probably one of the best we have stayed in yet. It was so spacious and so clean. Mary was so nice and helpful with any questions that I had. My goal was to rent a place to where we could walk every where we wanted to go and this was the place! We parked our car in our spot when we got there and didn't move it again until we left. This was the perfect place for us to stay! I highly recommend it!
My wife and I had driven through Savannah but this was our first overnight visit. We stayed here for 4 nights. During our years of traveling, we have had the opportunity to stay at some wonderful places around the world. The Rue House Garden Apt. Is ranked in our top 5 favorite places to stay. We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived until we left. The off street parking in Savannah is a hugh plus. The quiet back patio was relaxing. The apartment size was very comfortable for two people and easy to entertain more visitors. The street level was ideal for convience. The apartment was nicely furnished and clean. The central location made it easy to walk anywhere in the historic area easily. The neighborhood felt safe. We would not hesitate staying here again on our next visit. Having said all the above, I am going to also mention two possible negatives. I always prefer a king size bed and do not sleep as well on a smaller bed. There were two different groups of people that stayed in the house above us. You can hear them walking around from our apartment. One couple came home at 2:30 in the morning and stayed up awhile.
Perfect for two people. Great location, other than a day trip to Tybee Island, we didn't move the car. Walking distance to everything. Apartment was clean and comfortable. Could use a coffee table and/or tv trays. Six Pence a near by Irish Pub has a very good lunch. 1790 house and the Pink house also very close were our two favorite for dinner. Would recommend to any couple looking to spend some time in Savannah.
The Rue Garden Apartment was an excellent place to stay. Being close to everything was nice and the included private parking spot is a BIG plus in Savannah. The apt. was very clean and comfortable. It is larger in person than the pictures represent with plenty of room for the three of us. We would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I stayed at Rue House for the weekend and absolutely loved it. Both inside and out, the apartment was amazing. It was tastefully furnished and decorated along with everything one would need. Most impressive was the location to everything to see in Savannah. We parked our car upon arrival and didn't move it until we left at checkout. It is within walking distance to restaurants, historic homes, and our favorite....Ghost Tours. I highly recommend renting this property.
We stayed the week! Loved the feel of the apartment. Very cute and quaint but plenty of room for the two of us! The apt was in great location! We could walk any where and felt safe in the evening! Loved the location and surroundings...
The property was very well taken care of and extremely clean. The accommodations were very modern yet quite homey. The living room furniture was very comfortable as was the bed. There was plenty of storage space for our belongings. The location was fantastic. We were able to walk to everything that we wanted to see in Savannah. My only complaint was the people above us. They had a child which sounded as though he was running from end to end of the unit in combat boots on the wood floors above. Also, whenever the women above wore heels it was extremely loud. We could often hear their conversations as though they were in our unit due to the fact that they were rather loud and there is an adjoining staircase that is kept locked. Mary was quick to remedy this by both speaking with the tenants and offering us another unit. We didn't want to leave the unit as it was perfect and they did quite down considerably after Mary spoke with them. I would definitely return to this unit as it was just like a home away from home. The entire transaction from beginning to end was very professional and went so smoothly. I couldn't have asked for better.
Very Nice and authentic appartement in historic Savannah. Beautifull furniture, clean and spacious. Short distance to River street or Forsyth park. We loved the neighbourhood, the backyard with the swing. Just missed some sidetables to put your coffee or wine down. Would booked again.
the Rue Garden rental was perfect! The location was great, It is very conveniently located, we were able to walk wherever we wanted to go. It was especially nice to have an included parking spot. There is a beautiful porch swing outside, perfect for planning the next day, could use a couple side tables. The furnishings were beautiful, the bed comfortable. The kitchen had all the dishes we needed. We enjoyed the old building and the modern conveniences! Would recommend this property. The manager was very easy to work with and very helpful.
The apartment was wonderful. It has everything you need and is well appointed and is super convenient to everything in historic Savannah. Having a parking space also made it super convenient. And you must try 1790 Restaurant which is right around the corner from the apartment. Thank you.
This apartment was very clean and in a great location. It was definitely a bonus to have a parking place, we didn't move our car the entire time we were there. My only complaint would be the noise from people staying above us, we could here them walking and talking but I imagine this is the case with any house converted into apartments. Overall great stay!
This was a wonderful rental. We had a great weekend in Savannah Ga and could not have picked a better rental. It was so beautiful and cozy feeling. It had everything we could possibly have wanted. There was three adults and 1 child and we had plenty of space and sleep bedding. The private parking in the back is definitely a Bonus! No searching for a space on the side of the street or in a garage. We just pulled up to the back and knew it was ours. Everyone wanted to stay in this rental permanently! We will definitely rent again when we return to Savannah the next time. Love, Love, Love IT
The private parking in the back was so nice. Owner recommended daily parking pass and that was so helpful. We felt like we were in the middle of the historic district. We wanted to feel like we lived there and it was a nice feel. Court yard with swing and fountain was a pleasant surprise and added to the experience. I would stay again and recommend it to other travelers no wanting the hotel feel. I also run a VRBO and the need to have it clean was a must and the service didn't disappoint. Telfair museum had a wonderful show.
We recommend the daily parking pass for anyone who has a 2nd car or visitors during the week. We do include one off street parking space with this rental so most guests will not need the parking pass.
We enjoyed the cozy feel of being in the residential area of downtown Savannah. Private parking behind apartment was a definite plus. Loved going into a courtyard through the back. It was very centrally located to everything we needed to do in the savannah area. The space was clean and was as advertised. The apartment was right behind the 1790 Inn with the best meal we had while we were there. Delicious. Recommendations from manager about daily parking passes at the Inn for all day was a big help for our parking in town.
We stayed in the apartment over the Halloween weekend and it was absolutely perfect. It was close to everything, we walked everywhere. Just down the road is a really unique gas station/convenience store that had everything you could possibly need for a girls weekend. We are already planning our next trip to Savannah and will be staying here!!
Our stay last week was everything we had hoped. The garden apartment was perfect. Extremely clean. It was so convenient to River Street. Only a few blocks. Yet we were in the middle of the historic residential area so it was quiet and relaxing. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. The living area was so inviting with very comfortable furniture. We felt like we were at home. Having a parking spot off the back courtyard was a huge plus as we went to the grocery store several times and did not need to hunt for a spot on the street. Mary, was a delight to work with. She responded promptly to any questions I had prior to our trip. I would definitely stay here again.
We were glad to come across this listing in our search for a place to stay. The unit was clean, comfortable and well maintained. All our questions were answered in timely manner. The location was great with restaurants, coffee shops and Parkers Market within a few blocks. Having off-street reserved parking just out back was so convenient. Overall a great place that made our visit to Savannah more enjoyable!
This nice, neat, and clean condo provides an easy base to strike out into the Savannah historic district. Our stay was very, very nice. The owner has taste and cares about the property. The property manager answered all our questions, very fast, providing a very easy trip. I highly recommend this condo!
This was our first time using home away. My two children husband and myself lived the house! It was in easy walking distance to the historic district. The house was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The linens were extra soft! We felt like we were at home only better! We will absolutely rent this property again! A+++++++++
