This house is in the most perfect location possible to view and enjoy Historic downtown Savannah. However we booked this house specifically based on what the photos look like in reality that house seem to be a bit more run down then what the photos show. We had assumed per the ad we had access to the Courtyard in the back which we did not; only for walking to and from the car and it was an upstairs only apartment which is something else we did not expect. I did contact the property manager and she was more than accommodating!!! So overall I would say it is a wonderful house and we had an amazing trip and it's a perfect location, however I would take the photos with a grain of salt. I would absolutely stay here again and also recommend this house.
This was a case of not remembering the listing details probably due to time passing between booking and arrival. As I pointed out to this guest we have never advertised a "courtyard" in any way. The only photo of the small side yard has no caption and shows no seating. That photo has been there since we launched without similar misunderstandings and will remain on the ad because guests must walk through that area to get from the parking in the back to their front door. We do not believe this is misleading since it does not show a single chair or in any other way indicate one would spend time relaxing there. The building is a condominium and the small side yard is common property shared by 3 other condos and at this time there is no consensus among the owners regarding providing a table and chairs etc. If in the future we are able to furnish the outdoor area in that way we will certainly promote it. We are priced very low in an effort to exceed expectations and this was the first guest in two years who claimed we had advertised a courtyard.
The townhouse was located on a beautiful residential street. Everything was very spacious. The neighborhood was within walking distance of anywhere you wanted to go in the Historic District. Although we walked home late several nights we did not feel unsafe. Loved all the beautiful squares!
Overall we enjoyed our stay here. The size of the home was a perfect fit for us, as my husband and I had one room and our girlfriend had the other. The bathroom is laid out much like a hotel with toilet and shower in the bathroom and sink/vanity just outside the door so it was nice that us girls could get ready at the vanity while my husband was using the bathroom, etc. And even in the hot sticky Savannah temps, we were always comfortable in the home with the central air. There were just a few areas for improvement, which overall would NOT keep us from staying here again but thought it was worth sharing. Right theough the front door you have to go up a decent size flight of stairs to get onto the main floor of the unit, which was not a problem for us but if you struggle with stairs, this may not be the choice for you. The attached unit next door has several dogs and on our first day they were incessantly barking until the owner came home later that evening and then they did settle. We did not have any other encounters with the dogs, they did not keep us up at night and did not seem to get out of control after that first day so perhaps they were just missing their owner who was likely at work that day, given it was a Friday. Also, I was a little nervous about the lock on the door which is an electric one with numeric code. It seemed to work great but also seemed a little flimsy like maybe a chain on the door would give a sense of extra security. That being said, the neighborhood was quiet and within a twenty minute walking distance to the parks and downtown area. There are several little diners and lunch spots very nearby also, which was nice. The unit itself had a lot of charm and accommodated us very well. Overall, we would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it to any of our friends :)
The stove didn't work, the "parking" spaces behide the house had broken glass and trash everywhere, and when we went to take the trash out, it looked like trash hasn't been picked up in about 2 months. The smell was horrid. Good distance from everything and very clean inside the house. One of the nicer places I've stayed in.
I took my mom, sister and our two daughters down to visit my son and his girl-friend who just recently moved down there. They have an apartment on Wilmington Island which is to small for all of us, so I rented the condo. The house was in a great location. Since we had five people I brought a cot to sleep on and we ended up using the big comfy couch instead. The only thing that we had a problem with was the parking. The house comes with a parking spot in the back, but there were two other cars parked in a way that it was very difficult to get my large car next to either one of them. I think the owner could use a sign so that others that live or rent from the same complex know there is a spot for their part of the condo. The back of the building needs a little attention so that you can fit your car back there. I call the owner and she had someone come trim the trees, but the left all the branches in there and it was still to hard to park. In the end I made it work by cleaning the other side and squeezing in next to one of the other cars. Whoever owned the two other cars never moved them the whole weekend so I was a little annoyed that two people could park that way and not realize how difficult they made it for other people to park. I hope that the owner and the other people who own the complex get a better way of making parking spots back there for future renters. We all know how crazy it is to find a parking spot in Savannah and knowing you have a place to park when you get back from all your site seeing is a BIG plus with this rental. Over all the house was cute and well stock with most of our needs. We had to make mac-n-cheese for the kids and my mom could not find a strainer and I think they could use a light over the sink. My mom said it was kind of dark doing the dishes and cleaning up the coffee marker. I would stay here again!!! Thank you Kim
Title says it all. It's a cozy little place in the heart of the historic district and everything you could want to see is within walking distance. We didn't need to use the car once. Great place that I would recommend and would stay here again if I find myself back in the Savannah area again! Thank you Mary again for the wonderful stay!
I brought my adult son to Savannah ( per his request) for his 50th birthday. His wife and mother-in-law also joined us. This cute condo served our purposes very well! There was plenty of room for all of us. The configuration of the bathroom ( separate sink area from toilet and tub area) really worked out well since there were 3 women getting ready at once! The parking was great and the walking distance to all of the historic downtown areas was very convenient. We would hope to return for another visit in the future and would definitely rent this place again.
My 3 friends and I visited Savannah to run the Rock and Roll Half marathon. This house was in a great location, offered all the amenities of home, and even had a few extra touches from the host that made our weekend memorable. After the race we were able to enjoy all that Savannah has to offer from historic carriage rides, the riverfront shops, and all the southern food our bellies could handle. Looked very walkable but since we had just run 13.1 miles we chose to Uber or take a pedicab most of the time. This truly is a hidden charm and I would stay here again if my travels ever bring me back to Savannah.
Mary's place is so perfectly located and beautifully decorated. We had a fabulous stay!! East Jones Street is the place to be. We walked to breakfast, Mass at St. John the Baptist Cathedral, and dinner. We felt so comfortable and "at home" in our home away from home. Parked our car when we got there and only drove it to go to Tybee Island for the day. An amazing place to stay!!
My husband and I spent five days in this adorable property. Jones St is truly one of the prettiest residential streets in downtown Savannah. This site is one half mile from River Street. A beautiful walk no matter which route you choose. We enjoyed walking and touring on our own every day. There was always something to enjoy. The condo was comfortable and inviting . It is complete with everything you need. The beds were super comfortable. There is not a lot of seating, but we didn't sit much ! The reclining love seat was wonderful for late night relaxing after long days exploring the beautiful city . We loved the keyless entry. Not having to keep up with keys was a plus ! The one and only thing that I missed was ceiling fans in the bedrooms on hot July evenings . I would highly recommend this property and would certainly stay here again.
My daughter and I went to Savannah for a mother/daughter trip and this was the perfect location for it. You are far enough off of the beaten path but you can still walk to City Market and the river front. The condo was very clean and comfortable. I was not sure what to expect because this was my first VRBO experience, and it made a terrific impression. Mary is wonderful to deal with and was fast in her responses to any questions or concerns I had. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a nice retreat. My daughter and I are already planning another trip and we will likely book this condo again!
We enjoyed this condo in Savannah! It was very cute, and comfortable! Everything was there that was needed. It was nice to have the washer/dryer there to use halfway through our vacation. We also appreciated the parking spot where we could just leave our car, and use the free shuttle or just walk around the historic district. Mary was great to work with throughout the whole process. We would like to visit again some day, and would definitely try to stay here again!
We wanted to explore Savannah over the long Memorial Day weekend and needed a place to stay that was relatively close to everything without being too pricey. This place nailed it. Situated approximately 10-15 minutes by foot from both Forsyth Park and River Street it puts you in a quiet neighborhood with loads of Southern charm. The unit has a dedicated offstreet parking space in the alley behind it which makes it easy to come and go and avoid the hassle of coordinating with the conventional street parking laws. We only used the car to do a little kayak exploring on Tybee Island which was conveniently only about a 25 minute car ride away. Once inside we had plenty room to stretch out in the 2 bedrooms. My wife and I stayed in one on the first floor while my nephew crashed upstairs in his own spacious oasis. The bathroom is conveniently separated by a door between the toilet/shower and the area with the sink so 2 sets of people can easily get ready. We made use of the kitchen by making our own breakfasts each morning and snacks/cocktails in the afternoon. The contact with Mary was great and we will definitely consider booking here again if our plans include Savannah!
This is such a nice review and this is exactly what we are going for! So happy to read this. -Mary
We stayed at this condo May 16-20. It was perfect for our family of 3. The kitchen was well equipped (we ate breakfast in 2 days). The beds were very comfortable and the shower was hot with plenty of water pressure. The keyless entry was a definite plus! The off street parking was very convenient. The weather was very rainy our 2nd day in Savannah (there was some flooding in town) so we drove to Tybee Island which was only about 30 minutes away. We were glad there was a dryer in the unit when we got back in our wet clothes. We enjoyed the trolley tour which allowed you to get off at any of the 15 stops and stay as long as you wished. You just caught the next trolley when you were ready to move on! Breakfast at Clary's is a must... Savannah is a beautiful city with lots of history. We would definitely recommend visiting and staying at this quaint condo!
We really enjoyed our stay. This is our second time staying in one of Mary's rentals. The unit had everything you could want or need. Nice to be able to do laundry before you head home. The unit was comfortable and conveniently located a short stroll from many attractions. We look forward to our next stay with Mary!
This apartment had everything we needed and then some. The colors and decor were very cheery and the distance to everything couldn't be beat. The shower was large with good water pressure which is always a key selling point for us. The bed was BEYOND comfortable. Everything was clean and in well working order. The only drawback was there was a 15+ step climb to the apartment from the street so after miles of walking the city each day it was sometimes a dread. However, I wouldn't discount the property based on that alone considering the location and the pricing. Thanks again.
We rented for a girlfriend trip, and had no idea where we needed to be or what to expect...I must say, this place way exceeded our expectations! It was clean, beds were comfortable, well furnished and in a very safe, easy to find location. We would stay again in a heartbeat, and will certainly recommend it to anyone else! Savannah is a walking city, and when we weren't walking , we took a pedi-cab, or rode the shuttles, all of which were easy to access from our street. And the tour guides all refer to Jones Street as the most beautiful street in the city...we certainly agree!
The property was in a great location for us since we didn't want to be among the crowd. The property itself was beautiful and had two nice large beds. The only issue was the lack of sitting. There is a small couch but the other sitting isn't as comfortable. This isn't really a problem though if you don't plan on sitting around at the house. We were very pleased with everything and would go back.
Our stay at this property was great! We all had a fabulous time! The condo was clean upon arrival, and was so cute and quaint! We had no issues getting to the downtown/historic district, on foot it was roughly only about a 10-15 minute walk all the way to River Street. Uber rides and pedi-cab rides only cost us about $5 for the times that we didn't feel like walking. Mary, the property owner, was also extremely attentive and a pleasure to work with! Everything about the stay was great, and we will definitely be staying at this property again and recommending it to friends.
We were going to be in Savannah to visit my son at SCAD for a couple of days and weren't able to get into our usual rental, so we went here. I'm glad we did. Everything was as advertised, the bed was very comfortable, there was off-street parking behind the building and--did I mention it yet?--it was in Savannah, one of the most beautiful cities in America.
The place is adorable and charming and in a perfect location. Exactly as billed to be. Two minor suggestions - since it very comfortably sleeps four, it would be nice to have comfortable seating in the living room for four. Also four chairs at the table. But that's not a big deal, and we made it work. The beds are extremely comfortable, and we could walk to the Catholic Cathedral and Clarey's for breakfast. We were able to reach Mary very easily and the place was extremely well-managed.
The living room does have the leather love seat and 2 more chairs so it seats 4. We can add some small folding stools to use at the dining table for 2 more people, but the size of the kitchen and living room does limit our options as there is not room for 4 large chairs. We pay close attention to the guest feedback and thank each and every person for helping us make the place as comfortable as possible.
We had a wonderful time. The space was charming and well cared for. Location was excellent - walking distance to everything and a block away from the road to Tybee, etc. Our host was extremely responsive to all of our questions and we loved the keyless entry. We would definitely return if we were visiting Savannah. 5 stars!
My family recently stayed here the second week of November. It is a great location to all things in the historic district and most all within walking distance. If you're not a walker, definitely take the trolley to see Savannah.(Grayline/Oglethorp) They will pick you up and drop you off at the corner near the condo, no need to drive anywhere. The condo while small, was plenty of room for the five of us. There is some beautiful artwork on the walls, but yet lots of nails where previous decor in photos had been hung but not replaced. The property manager Mary was very attentitive to our needs and responded very quickly. She was a pleasure to work with before & during our stay. She answered all my questions about where things were located and the safeness of areas I was not familiar with. We prepared our breakfast & dinner every day at the condo. Plenty of cookware, dishes and silverware. My only suggestion would be a microwave and a few more kitchen gadgets. Overall our stay was terrific! We would definitely stay here again.
We did purchase a microwave which is now in the kitchen.
I absolutely enjoyed our family vacation and so glad we booked our Savannah vacation here. Everything was spotless! Rooms looked in great condition. The home was fully equipped with kitchen utensils (very important for my mom) and bathrooms had extra towels. Overall, just a great cosy home full of character. Probably something to note- (somehow I must have missed it in the description) is that this rental is for an upper floor condo. If you have an elderly person in your party that may have issues walking up and down stairs then this property is not for you. Shout out to Mary the property manager who made our stay absolutely wonderful. Always attentive to her phone and any need or question we might have had. Great experience.
After staying all week near the busy Riverfront area for a conference, it was nice to spend the weekend in a quieter area that was still convenient enough to walk to the Riverfront, or call for a pedicab. The free convenient off-street parking was a nice perk. When we first arrived the A/C didn't seem to be working so I reached out to Mary who sent someone over right away, and within no time we had A/C and was perfectly comfortable the entire weekend. The place was very clean, the pictures are accurate to what you will see upon your arrival. I would highly recommend this place for your next Savannah Getaway!
For future guests, there was nothing wrong with the a/c it was just a matter of properly operating the thermostat. I now know how to explain it to our guests if they ask.
We loved all the colors – – it's like a virtual fruit salad! So nice, looking out on the cobblestone street from the front window. Nice neighborhood feel. Like we were told old savannah is. I was told parking in Savannah is tough so the free parking really made life easy. Can't wait to stay again!!

Great location only 20 min walk from River Street. Free parking along the streets was very nice. Mary was very helpful and timely with all responses. Overall a great and relaxing trip!
